I bought the 5600X with a Rog Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard+Tuf Gaming RTX3060+4x16gb Corsair LPX 3200mhz (64gb)+WD Blue N550 M.2 2tb+NOX Urano VX 750W 80+ Bronze+Asus VA27 monitor and runs fine with the latest games at 1080p.
12 days ago I built my very first PC, thanks to your videos and a couple other channels. It was indeed a Ryzen 5600x build and I am so happy that most of my hardware matches your recommendations spot on, this means you are a succesful teacher!
Love it when the timing is good! Best wishes on your build and don't forget we have our "how to build a pc" step by step build guide and "after you build" setup guides if you need (:
been almost 2y now. 5600x MSI 550 MPG plus some decent 3600 dimms and SN850 from WD. Flawless setup, one of the best I ever had. And it's tiny, NR200 from CoolerMaster
Finally got all my parts ready for my first ever build. Been running your step by step vids over and over to get familiar. Will be putting it together tonight. Thank you for all the great content and thanks to commenters who have also helped. 🤞🏽
@@Aaron_Lesse stayed up way passed it. Was very scared to mess things up which made things take much longer (also needed better lighting) but in the end, success was achieved. Thanks you for reaching out.
One thing to note for Arc users or those interested in Arc: Cyberpunk 1.62 introdeced Intel XeSS upscaling, so with my A770 I now get 96fps AVERAGE at 1440, with highs of 130fps. Even without upscaling I now get over 65-70 fps average at 1440.
I'm watching this on my Ryzen 5600 PC that I built in December with lots of help and guidance from this channel, and it slays 1440p gaming with a 6800XT Taichi and I'm really happy with it. Awesome stuff Jason, I always look forward to your videos!
I bought an R5 5500 for $66 and an Asrock B550M Pro4 for $78, All brand new. Saved a lot compared to $150 for an R5 5600 only. Pretty solid, cant wait to finish my build
I just did my first build ever in the deep cool case and it was super straightforward. Definitely recommend. Also thank you so much for your videos. You helped so much when it came to picking parts and building the pc.
@PC Builder thank man. Next time you talk about this case you might wanna also add that it comes with a anti sag ledge for your GPU. it really make mes feel better that I've got something holding up my 3 fan 6800 xt! It's a great add on for these big gpus
After upgrading from Ryzen 3 to 5,, I now get a warning upon start up that hardware video acceleration is disabled, and video in lagging. Do I need to upgrade to a video card.
9:24 DeepCool also offers CC560 ATX MidTower with 4 included (Blue)LED Fans with support upto 360mm AIO (Front mount) and bulky 40 series GPU's support (370mm) for just $58 which makes it a good budget option. Would love to get your thoughts on it ❤️
Look man, I never ever support channels for single times occasions like this, but the effort, the clear explanations, and the insane recommendations are just worthy of a sub, a like, and more!
Great build guides! You provide awesome advice and understand the basis for these builds, especially lower end tier components for the budget minded. I recently built two gaming systems based on your videos. One was an individual who does everything EXCEPT gaming on a MacBook. Didn’t care about extra cores or performance as all he wanted to do was play WoW with our guild (which is crap on a MacBook lol). The build I chose lined up nicely with your budget parts list!
This is quite literally my all white b550 build and I absolutely love it! great video. I paired mine with 32gb RAM, 2TB storage, rog strix b550 whiteMB, RX6600 and the koolink void white case. absolute stunner ;)
@@tilapiadave3234 No need for the shade. A lot of us are super proud of our work, and to see that his build almost exactly matches what the video recommends is absolutely an understandable reason to list the whole build.
@@tilapiadave3234 Are you reading literally any of the other comments in the thread? Tons of them are build sharing, it's what happens on these types of vides. You're upset about wasting time? Stop wasting your time reading this stuff then 🙄
Hi Jason. I really like your "FPS first" philosopy. I have my own small gamer build business, and im really aligned with your suggestion for low-mid builds. There is far too many youtubechannels who only consider top-tier systems - and that is not where the majority are. 90% of my builds are in the range 900-1150$ (converted from DKK). Ryzen 5 5600(X) is my all time favorite. Im mainly going with B550, in the cheap end. I do not see the need to pay more for a normal pc wothout OC. You often mention the audio quality, is that really an issue in the cheaper model? Thanks for you :) Cheers from Denmark
My Main PC I built a year ago has AMD 5600X, MSI B550 tomahawk mobo , 2x1tb M.2 SSD, 32gb 3600 dimms, RX 6600xt gpu, 360mm AIO, fitted in the Lian Li 011 dynamic evo with 10 fans . So I basically hit the right setup! All based on your video guides. Happy as I get 200FPS playing DOOM 2016 @ 1440P. the aussie prices for AMD CPUs are 128$ Usd for 5600 and 158$ usd for 5600X . The AMD 5500 is only 90$ usd
I built a 5600X machine to replace my 3600X audio production machine that in turn replaced my 1700 HTPC machine. So, the 1700 machine is now a ready spare. A 6-core Ryzen is probably all the CPU most people will need for the next three years or so. For gaming, I'd avoid 4K with the 5600. It can do it, but only with a GPU that completely unbalances the system. Honestly, I'd pair it with a used 1080Ti, which can be had for ~$180 US and has the VRAM you'll need to run AAA games at 1080p, and maybe 1440p, with the pretty textures loaded. Remember, you don't actually need a case for a PC -- you can build on the motherboard box and run it that way until you can afford the case you want.
Love your vids. Ended up with a 5700G as I was waiting on graphics card prices to come down, honestly though I'm getting 40fps on some of the harder games so no rush to get a graphics card, as a wargamer/civ/strategy guy who dabbles in 1st person stuff I don't need the super graphics, got 2x 16gb Corsair Vengeance Pro SL 3600mhz optimised for Ryzen chips and 2 M2 HD's a super fast one for the OS and a 2gb slower one for games and honestly, it's absolutely sweet. Plus when I get my graphics card getting a 5800X3D for my Aorus Elite V2 Motherboard would keep things fresh for ages. My first build, powered with information gathered from your good self. Thanks!
I basically built this a few months ago. Upgraded the gpu and ram though. 1300 total and got a 6950xt, 32g of 4600 ram, 2tb 4.0 nvme, a sexy antec case (I've always liked antec since 2006). Mostly because of your recommendations. Thanks
Last year when I was searching for references to build my first PC in over 10 years I found your channel and it helped me a lot. Thank you very much for your work! Oh, and I went with the r5 5600 + rx6650xt combo, it was at a great value in my country.
Built my 5600X system in February, but used your guides and others for a lot of guidance. Went with an RX580 I got for $100 on ebay; most likely will upgrade it with next year's tax refund. MSI B550 Gaming Gen3 mobo, 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks, 1TB WD Blue M2 NVME SSD and a 1TB WD Blue SATA SSD, Thermaltake 600W PS, Thermaltake Assassin X cooler and a Cougar M330 case (needed the 5.25 external bay). Got 32GB RAM since I do more than gaming, like modding Kerbal Space Program. :)
Oh yeah, 32gb should be considered standard now unless you're going the ultra-low budget gaming route. It is probably overkill for a lot of games, but once you add 3D modeling to the mix, the more RAM the better,@@roryc6173
Hello Jason! Thanks to your videos i learned alot and im building my first pc alone and specs are: Ryzen 5 5600 ASUS Tuf gaming B550 WIFI II Kingston fury renegade 2x8 3600 Water cooler reddragon effect ccw 3000 x SSD samsung m2 500gb 970 evo plus all that with my old GPU radeon rx590 and i will get better gpu later this year.I hope everything will be fine with my first pc,everything is here, just waiting for ssd to arrive from the store.Greetings from Serbia!
Thanks for these videos! I'm building my first PC and your advice has been excellent and informative. I'm pretty much cloning what you outlined here, and it feels good knowing why these components are the best for this build.
2 weeks ago I built a very similar machine to what you show in the video. RX 6700xt, ryzen 3600x, 16GB 3600MHz CL17, b550 aorus Elite, Endorfy Regnum 400, 1TB m.2 Kingston KC3000 and 512GB Kingston SATA from my old laptop. Tested it on 4k ultra in Borderlands 3 and it ripped average 43fps
The 5600 seems like an insane value CPU right now. I’ve talked to a bunch of friends looking to build a new build and not a single one is doing anything that needs anything more than the 5600.
I've had my eye on both the RX 6700 XT (though I'm going used) and that ID-COOLING cooler you mentioned for a while now. I'm currently running on a 5600G and saving for a GPU, so when I get enough to buy the GPU, I'm going to toss that cooler on as well, just because I'm not 100% satisfied with the cooling of the stock cooler. Benchmarks saw it leveling at pretty strong temps, even before I overclocked it, so I just want to make sure I'm prolonging the lifespan of my CPU.
@@zayn3296 This is what I currently have in my PC, though in retrospect I might would have changed a few things. The RAM is completely for aesthetics, so you can definitely choose something cheaper if you want to. I originally went with a Teamgroup 3600/CL18 set but decided I wanted that cool G.skill set after I discovered it lol. The SSD is also kinda overkill. If I were to start over, I would have simply gone with the cheapest 1TB M.2, since gaming isn't really benefitted by speeds faster than what even low tier SSDs can provide. SATA is slower for more money, so I'd still avoid that, but boot up is the only thing you might want a blazing fast SSD for, and honestly, I have 12 seconds to wait for my PC to boot up lol. As far as the motherboard, I selected that one specifically because my monitor needs Displayport. Had I known what I was looking for, I might would have spent a little more for one with better audio, or maybe one with more aRGB headers. But that's just me; your needs might find this board perfectly fine. If you like the case I selected, I do need to mention that it's a tad smaller than even most mATX cases. Longer GPUs may have difficulty fitting, but I've only found a few to be too long. Anyway, that's the full rundown lol. Good luck with your build! pcpartpicker.com/list/CbKWk9
Before watching this video, I put a lot of stuff in my cart on amazon to build something in the tier class of his budget system (starting around 11:10), and I have to say I'm happy with how mine compares to his in price and parts equivalence. The big difference is what I did with video cards. For my "budget build" (which is just brainstorming right now), I have my amazon cart, and one thing in ali express: an RX580 2048sp card, which is only about 80 bucks. The reason I went with that card is that I have one in the system I made for my brother, and the one I made for my father, and it's working great. I'd rather put a 6600XT in them, but that is between 3 and 4 times the cost (and I figure a GPU can always be upgraded later). So, how did I come to a total of about $680, when "skimping" on the GPU? E-waste! I've been watching a lot of Dawid videos, and his love and hate for e-waste amuses me, so I asked myself "if I were selling this on ebay and had to include obligatory e-waste, what would I include?" An Asus Tuf Gaming 24 inch 165 hertz 1080p IPS gaming monitor, a mouse/keyboard/headphone bundle, a deskpad, an HDMI cord, and a display cord (as both monitor and GPU support display port). Case, motherboard, ram, storage, CPU, GPU, coolers, monitor and e-waste... everything you need to go from having nothing to game on to having a full set, all for $680. And, of course, all built around the Ryzen 5 5600 CPU. This video is great for advice, and for comparing my silly build to. I did cheap out on the motherboard though. An a520 for 70 bucks. But when you look at benchmarks of cards in PCIe 4, 3, and even 2, ports, you realize that despite the significant difference in what the generations are capable of, in real world performance the difference is surprisingly small, so for a budget build I have no problems with it just being PCIe 3.0 (and I may be wrong anyhow. The amazon listing actually claims it has PCIe 4.0, and that the m.2 slots are limited to PCIe 3.0)
I went 1 month ago with a Gigabyte Aorus Elite ATX v2 + R5 5600 + 16Gb RAM. That combo is super sweet and for EUR 300 you just cannot beat it. Slap a second hand RTX 3060ti for EUR 300 or less and for EUR 600 you got an amazing PC (considering you reuse the case, PSU and storage).
Yes insane value build! My 3090 still bottlenecks my 5600 in ultrawide 1440p! My 5600 runs under 35% usage. Plenty of headroom to upgrade my GPU even further. Thanks for your videos Jason!
Just saying, the % usage on CPUs is not the best metric to say that the CPU is not bottlenecking your GPU. Even a single game thread can bottleneck a GPU and then the CPU utilisation may well be low. In fact, I would even say that, due to the way graphics pipelines work, only a CPU could technically be a "bottleneck", because it is the one that takes place first, runs the gameplay and gives the scene to be rendered by the GPU (draw calls). Therefore, (assuming VRAM is not exceeded, PCI-E connectivity is sufficient and you are not bumping against the engine limit) I think the best metric is GPU utilisation. If your GPU is at around 95-100%, it means, as the last hardware before your Monitor, it is pumping as many frames at it can. If your GPU is hanging around 70-80% most of the time (even if you CPU is not pegged at 100%), this is not ideal, as even a mid-range GPU costs as much as a good CPU+MB+RAM combo.
@@xdinhxchris In VR there is the information from the VR runtime, which shows CPU time and GPU time. When you are developing in the game engine, you also get access typically in a debugging window to CPU time and GPU time. The COD benchmarks I have seen contain CPU/GPU time graphs, which is very rare. But those are usually not exposed to external tools like afterburner and are available for VR games only. Maybe a workaround could be to test the flatscreen game in a VR virtual cinema mode and see what the CPU/GPU time show and even then you will be facing additional overhead from the VR environment rendering on top of the flatscreen game rendering.
Retired my 11 y/o i3 4th gen personal office rig last year for a Ryzen 5600 and I was very happy when I did the switch. Old rig still usable for browsing and media consumption use so it's not meeting the pearly gates of recycling just yet. Have been using the stock cooler in the Ryzen 5600 rig in a darkflash dk431 case with a 1660 Super and it becomes kinda hotter than what I expect when playing BG3 or FFXIV, or when doing some video rendering. 71-75C CPU, 72-75C GPU. Ambient room temp is 25-28C, plus we're in the tropics so room temps can spike up to 32-34C on a really hot day. Much appreciate the recommendations on the air tower coolers. Now waiting for a Deepcool AK500 Digital for the cooler to replace stock. Also got Arctic P12 PWM PST fans to install after stripping all stock case fans as some of them already failed and had to make do with the non-PWM fans from an old PC case just to have airflow. No RGBs which I prefer, with the AK500 Digital the only display/light from within the case. Would also need to tweak the fans speeds too once those fans are set up; insides of the rig was a bit dustier than I expected, so cleaned up recently and did a smoke test. Lo and behold, yep, negative pressure just under the rear exhaust and it sucks air from the top mesh too 😅 PS. Love the cat. :meow:
The 5600 is a perfect foundation. Built mine 3 weeks ago and I’m not disappointed. Paired it with a RX6600 and gpu does all the grunt work, which is what it’s supposed to do. The cpu doesn’t need to get out of bed, box cooler is perfectly adequate.
It’s also really important to think about what games you play when choosing gpu. I play relaxing tycoon/city builder & transport simulator titles so insane FPS and that extra millisecond to get that snipe shot doesn’t matter to me
Im really happy with my 5600x, 3060 ti, 32GB 3200mhz RAM, 1.5 TB SSD build. (However my Motherboard could be better... its a gigabyte b450m s2h v2 but I am not willing to upgrade it since its working just fine). Overall amazing for 1080p and decent for 1440p gaming! Till this day the 5600 and 5600x are amazing for budget and midrange builds.
Idea for a video, sharing home build tips. My first one is to use an old soft laptop padded case (or similar) as a lazy Susan on a table. It let me use daylight easily turning the case around, so much easier to see small print on the board. The second one is to pre-route cables with easily visible coated white wire fasteners used on food bags and packaging. That way you see what needs attention later but benefit from having things neat. It let me do some routing that would require removing the power supply to squeeze the header through. Cable ties are too committing, so undoable easy twist wire ties will get the job done better than if you leave all the cable management for later. In personal builds, I ummm have lived with panels off or a stack of lose disks sitting next to the case as it was always more convenient than finishing 🙈🙈 This temporary state has lasted for nearly a decade in one SMP server box I had, I literally only put the sides on to move house!! Using old HDD even from laptop is viable, you try out Romex's PrimoCache and allocate some system RAM and an SSD partition as cache. HDD transfer speed isn't the problem it's the constant back & forth. It's amazing how fast games can load (quicker than SSD) because the folders are pre-fetched into RAM after boot.
@@PCBuilderChannel Oh and for comedy effect, your wife might have planned a staycation where you have enforced break. So no workshop, you have to sneak in a crafty build behind her back when she's out 😉😉
Very similar performance, in testing with various GPUs there is almost no difference between the two, so I'd take even that $20 and invest it in faster ram, more storage, and especially into a better GPU if that helps. 5600 is all about price efficiency.
I completed a Ryzen 9 5900x build with a RX 6700xt and it is blazing fast. I am using an Asus B550 motherboard but am having a major problem running large external drives (2 to 4 TB) from the USB 3 ports. They keep disconnecting shortly after connection. It makes me leary of using a Ryzen 5000 series CPU paired with a B550 or X570 motherboard of any kind. My second computer would probably be an i7 13700. Intel doesn't seem to have that kind of issue.
I got the Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB case, 5800X3D, EK 240mm AIO, 6800XT, Asus Tuf X570, Trident Z 32gb of ram, 2tb 990 pro NVMe, and Seasonic 850w PSU. Still a beast of a combo and I got the 5800X3D under $320. I do a lot of 3D modeling and PC/VR gaming.
I can't confirm that every B550 board is Ryzen 5000 ready, but i can say that the ASUS TUF B550 Pro definitely does. Mine actually came with a sticker on the box and the BIOS was factory updated.
thankyou, i went with ryzen 5600x and got 6750XT (got it for the price of 6700XT), now i am doing live streams gaming battlefield 2042! it can do decent 720p streams. ordered capture card to turn old pc as streaming pc with RX460 2GB.
immediately clicked been waiting for this one! decided to go with a 5600x but still trying to figure atx or matx..so difficult to understand all the b550 boards..

I still have a 5900X paired with an XFX 6800XT.. I actually just built it a little over a year ago. I have been so happy with Ryzen.. I started with a 1700 Zen 1 then went to a 2700X on an X370 Taichi Board. And I have to say that to this day Zen 3 is still more than enough if you are gaming at 4K. We all have M.2's and SSD's so performance is really negligible these days.. I did what Jason says to do I bought the best GPU at the time for the money, and was able to get the 5900X for the same price as the 5800X so that was a no brainer.. Then I went with a B550 ASRock PG Velocita, in a PHanteks P500A white Just like Jason's LOL.. I did a 980 500gig in Top M.2 and then went with a 1T 970 Gen 3 for the bottom M.2.. I am still very happy.. 4K All Day..
But Jason, what is the point of sinking 800 bucks into a dead platform when with 1000 not only i get the % difference in performance but also i get a better platform and a possibility to upgrade down the road? That was the thinking that made me change from building an am4 system to going for an am5 system.
I'll probably talk about this in an upcoming Q&A, but AMD has sabotaged the value of early adopting the AM5 platform. The Mobo's are ridiculously priced for the features, the DDR5 will need to be upgraded (DDR5 6000 will seem like DDR4 2666 in another year), and it isn't clear that they intend to go beyond Zen5 on AM5. And you can always drop in a used or discounted 5800X3D in 3 years to this and have an amazing gaming PC. Also, builds at this price range tend to be heavily price limited so I'd rather spend the extra $200 on a faster GPU and get the enjoyment now, and let the future work itself out.
@@PCBuilderChannel I was thinking about some of this watching the video. Boards for AM5 are decently expensive still, a few budget ones have emerged. There still is the issue of early adopting DDR5 and ending up with multiple kits. Ended up with a few DDR4 kits from Skylake & 9th gen rigs. The old DDR will end up having to be replaced once faster ram is out possibly down the road anyways. I think spending on the GPU in this scenario makes sense. Reusing the DDR4 is one option for those with older builds, if it's decent speed, or even just buying new DDR4 it is still running cheaper. I have seen a few DDR5 sales and board sales but it still feels early. It's a shame AM5 went DDR5 only as far as value is concerned. New chip, new ram, and a new board it all would add up for AM5 to at least another $200 (no microcenter in my state either). Somehow I envision if I hopped onto AM5 today; I would hypothetically be ending up with multiple DDR5 kit(s) in a few years time.
Wish this video came out about a month ago…just built my first PC with similar items (5600, 6650xt, Silicon Power 3200 16 GB RAM, different Deep Cool case for same price but 4 RGB fans), but went with slightly larger PSU at 650w and cheaper B450…wished I spent $25 more on better MOBO and kept cost even with cheaper PSU. Either way, still appreciate the videos and knowledge you share. And the learning experience was still worth it for me!
I think that's one of the things that's so appealing about PC gaming. You're never really stuck with a component you don't like. You have the option to swap it out and just keep the other components, unlike with console gaming where it's a package deal. It kills to overbuy though, so I feel your pain on that PSU lol
Just finished a little upgrade. Went from a r7 1700 to a r5 5600x, with that a xfx 6700 xt a Corsair 750 Watt psu. And a lian li 216 case.. im using a cooler master hyper 212 rgb to cooler the cpu, from your recommendation.
I'm doing small upgrades to my ibuypower pre-built, haven't built a PC since 2002. Thanks for answering my research for recommendation on the deepcool tower fan-i ordered the one with the digital thermonitor. My next project is upgrading the PSU.
The 4080 super will bottleneck that CPU a lot. So if you are going to do this drop in a 5700X3D at the same time. See our "how to upgrade your PC 2024" video for more
I went for the Vetroo V5 cooler for my build...as well as a Phanteks 400A Digital case... Also noticed the bottleneck of the Ryzen 5 5600G on the ASUS X570 MB... Just bought a $25 R5 2400G from a store I trust to kickstart the BIOS flashback... They were just selling testing chips out of the package and with the date of last usage on the plastic CPU holder... As soon as I get this done...this tablet's days are numbered as an all day computer...but might be used for an office computer... Will use the Wi-Fi on my phone to cover the BIOS update...
Would a set up like this have any issues running sim racing games? I sort of made my build sheet based off of this video. Seems like it’s perfectly in my budget. Main game is Assetto Corsa Competizione. Thank you for the amazing content! I’ve learned so much from you so far
Building a new PC, please comment if this is a good build CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboards: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI RAM: 2x8GB 3200Mhz SSD: SX8200 Pro 1TB GPU: 7800XT PSU: MSI MAG A650BN going with stock cooler should i go with 7700XT?
The only component that I regret in my recent build is the ASRock B550. The PCIe slot for the GPU is heckin low (4 and 5 IO slots on the case) and the GPU sags pretty bad. I've put a brace in the case to prevent damage but I'm just going to swap it out pretty soon.
just build my first pc 1 month ago and picked the 5600x case , prime B550M , 6650XT OC and and 3600 cl16 16GB I'm loving it! great fps and works fine with new games!!!
Paired my 5600 non x with an Rx 6750 xt and it is absolutely amazing. So happy with my purchase but would recommend getting the non 50 xt Rx 6700 xt instead. The extra money just isn’t worth it.
had a super cheap asrock b450 with a ryzen 2700 and rx580. I updated the bios and popped in the 5600 and a 6600xt, and it was a fantastic upgrade. pc powers up to login within 12 seconds. All game play at 1080p ultra at more than 60 fps. Will not need to upgrade for years. And the upgrade cost only $350.
Thanks for the vid. Nice to know the parts as I am planning a 5600 or 13400 build but the pricing is really so far apart in my region. Most ridiculous is the asrock z690 extreme at $170. Cost like $400 in my market.
awesome video as always. Can you please tell me if the N7 b550 is one of those motherboards with better audio youre talking about? I got cheap in a clearance sale and am not sure if i should use it or get a mobo with a better mobo. Thank you!!!!1
Hi Jason, I just did a 5600 build. I ran into a problem however, I used all the components recommended. I used the gigabyte B550 DS3H with a Antec NX410. The problem I ran into is there doesn't seem to be anyway for me to case fans or rgb connectors. Is there a workaround so I can get the case fans going with this combination
Hi, thanks so much for the video. Would you consider the ASUS Prime B550M-A WiFi II, over any of the other WiFi boards. It is the cheapest WiFi mobo where I live. I've read about issues around VRM, but not sure if this is a big deal.
5600 and rtx 4070 is a match made in heaven for ppl who want high perf with low power draw, 12gb of vram, great perf with raytracing, and great blender render times without bleeding the wallet dry.
I got the 5600X with a Rog Strix B450 motherboard but I think I made the wrong choice and should've gone for the B550 board. With the B450 (bios upgraded) works fine without issues but the B550 chipset will get the most performance out of the 5600X, what do you guys think?? B450 vs B550 will both performed the same job ??
Hello i have a question. Im building a pc for my gf, and i have chosen your first option as a Good budget friendly one. (Which do you recomend) -does having a nvdia gpu (ex 3060 ti) makes a Big diference comparing to a 6650xt-6700xt. (Her Mac is old and slow) Thank you ❤
Hello! For people who are going to be using Adobe it is better to go with Nvidia (AMD still has issues, especially with photoshop etc). So in that case go for a 3060ti but the 5600 is still a great pair.
I just did a build using a Ryzen 5600 and an ASUS B550m TUF Gaming board which I got on sale. I picked up a 5700xt second hand very cheaply. It's running great. Oh and for RAM I picked up some Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 3600 and it's running great.

Nothing is wrong with that, but you could save money by just getting a B550 with WiFi. Yes you'll lose the white in the motherboard but oh well. Also there are cheaper SSDs than that Samsung that are good.

Wouldn't 32GB of RAM be the better buy today instead of 16GB, especially if it's cheap DDR4? I have been following my memory and page file usage while gaming and I do believe new AAA titles need more than 16GB to be stutter free, MSI Afterburner reports that I need about 20GB to 30GB in total memory usage in Windows 11 and a browser in the background on a 2nd monitor while gaming.
Great video! I use your videos a lot! I'm going to be upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D in the near future. I was wondering what Nvidia 40 series card should I pair with it? I was thinking of the 4070 ti but should I just go for the 4090? I mainly use my pc to play games at 1440p and I stream sometimes as well.
Exciting! You can check out our 5800X3D build from the Fall too. And yep if it fits your budget I'd pair with a 4090. But basically go for the highest performing GPU that fits your budget.

Thanks, I recently upgraded from an i7-3770k to a Ryzen 5 5600, and it's been a great performance boost at a reasonable price.
Thanks!
Nice! Thank you for sharing and so glad we could help!

Built my 5600X system in February, but used your guides and others for a lot of guidance. Went with an RX580 I got for $100 on ebay; most likely will upgrade it with next year's tax refund. Got 32GB RAM since I do more than gaming, like modding Kerbal Space Program. :)
Would you also recommend the 32gb ram if I'm also using SOLIDWORKS on the computer
Oh yeah, 32gb should be considered standard now unless you're going the ultra-low budget gaming route. It is probably overkill for a lot of games, but once you add 3D modeling to the mix, the more RAM the better,@@roryc6173

The 5600 seems like an insane value CPU right now. I’ve talked to a bunch of friends looking to build a new build and not a single one is doing anything that needs anything more than the 5600.
Agreed!
Can you share your pc configuration especially motherboard? I am planning to build same
@@zayn3296 This is what I currently have in my PC, though in retrospect I might would have changed a few things.
E-waste!
I've been watching a lot of Dawid videos, and his love and hate for e-waste amuses me, so I asked myself "if I were selling this on ebay and had to include obligatory e-waste, what would I include?"
An Asus Tuf Gaming 24 inch 165 hertz 1080p IPS gaming monitor, a mouse/keyboard/headphone bundle, a deskpad, an HDMI cord, and a display cord (as both monitor and GPU support display port).
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Nice!!

Yes insane value build!
My 3090 still bottlenecks my 5600 in ultrawide 1440p! My 5600 runs under 35% usage. Plenty of headroom to upgrade my GPU even further.
Thanks for your videos Jason!
Glad you are enjoying! Thanks for watching (:
If your GPU is hanging around 70-80% most of the time (even if you CPU is not pegged at 100%), this is not ideal, as even a mid-range GPU costs as much as a good CPU+MB+RAM combo.
cpu usage doesn't work that way
@@konstantinlozev2272 so MSI afterburner benchmark is not ideally for measuring CPU usage? Can you rec. Something else. Thank you very much
@@xdinhxchris In VR there is the information from the VR runtime, which shows CPU time and GPU time.
Lo and behold, yep, negative pressure just under the rear exhaust and it sucks air from the top mesh too 😅
PS.

Bout to build the around the same build just 32gig ram to 16 and not a 3060ti a 3060 will a 3060 be fine?
In personal builds, I ummm have lived with panels off or a stack of lose disks sitting next to the case as it was always more convenient than finishing 🙈🙈
This temporary state has lasted for nearly a decade in one SMP server box I had, I literally only put the sides on to move house!!
That's a great suggestion thank you! Hope you are having a great Friday Rob!

I am using an Asus B550 motherboard but am having a major problem running large external drives (2 to 4 TB) from the USB 3 ports. They keep disconnecting shortly after connection.
Thanks for sharing!
thankyou, i went with ryzen 5600x and got 6750XT (got it for the price of 6700XT), now i am doing live streams gaming battlefield 2042! it can do decent 720p streams. ordered capture card to turn old pc as streaming pc with RX460 2GB.
Great video, as usual. Building a Ryzen 5 5600/RX 6800 PC right now and this felt awfully relevant.
I'd say, spot on! Glad it's what you needed, thanks for watching.
I almost had the exact same build I made last Dec 2023 under a tight budget, seeing this made me subscribe. Thank you for this!
Thanks for the sub! Congrats on your build!
immediately clicked been waiting for this one! decided to go with a 5600x but still trying to figure atx or matx..so difficult to understand all the b550 boards..
So glad we can help! And we do have our Best Ryzen Motherboard 2022 video if you want to hear more on motherboards
Thank you so much for this informative video! Im researching to start my first pc build and looking at the ryzen 5600 so this is absolutely perfect for me
Glad I could help!
Can you do a GPU scaling benchmark with the 7800 X3D versus the 5800 X3D with a 4090 at 4k if you can afford it?
LoL you really want to put the guy into bankruptcy don't you
Thanks so much for this video, going to build my first pc soon and I'm using the 5600 w a 6750 xt and aorus elite ax v2

@@PCBuilderChannel I have them both saved to a watch later playlist ready to go
I still have a 5900X paired with an XFX 6800XT..
Love the 5600 builds. 12100 for budget, 5600 for mid, 13700k for high end ❤
12400 for mid, and 7950xt at the very top
I did a similar build just over a month ago, got a b450 as well, sad times it seems
23:05 Mr. Bear was excited because you were excited! Your energy is contagious to me too, lool.
Mr. Bear is also thrilled about the insane value! ;)
So glad we could help!
I started building pc recently and 5600 was my cpu choice. This video came out at a perfect time
Love it when the timing is good!! Best wishes on your build!
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks buddy!
I have a 5600x, I recently came across a 4080 Super for a good deal. Is it worth upgrading from my 4060 for this?
Thanks for sharing!
Would a set up like this have any issues running sim racing games? I sort of made my build sheet based off of this video. Seems like it’s perfectly in my budget. Main game is Assetto Corsa Competizione. Thank you for the amazing content! I’ve learned so much from you so far
Should be great! Double check the recommend specs of the games you play to be sure you will get the kind of settings you want.
Building a new PC, please comment if this is a good build
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
Motherboards: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI
RAM: 2x8GB 3200Mhz
SSD: SX8200 Pro 1TB
GPU: 7800XT
PSU: MSI MAG A650BN
going with stock cooler
should i go with 7700XT?
The only component that I regret in my recent build is the ASRock B550. The PCIe slot for the GPU is heckin low (4 and 5 IO slots on the case) and the GPU sags pretty bad. I've put a brace in the case to prevent damage but I'm just going to swap it out pretty soon.
Is it the steel legend? I'm planning to buy the b550m

Nice!

Thanks for the vid. Nice to know the parts as I am planning a 5600 or 13400 build but the pricing is really so far apart in my region. Most ridiculous is the asrock z690 extreme at $170. Cost like $400 in my market.
Frustrating! Best wishes on your build!
awesome video as always. Can you please tell me if the N7 b550 is one of those motherboards with better audio youre talking about? I got cheap in a clearance sale and am not sure if i should use it or get a mobo with a better mobo. Thank you!!!!1
Yes it has the great audio you're looking for.
Yes good board and upgraded audio
Your build for the 5600 is almost the same as my home build. 5600x. 6700xt. 32gb 3600 cl 16. Dark hero VIII mb. Great with 1440p.
A friend helped me start putting together a similar build just last night so this is perfect timing!
Exciting! Congrats on the build!

Agreed!

You saved money and you got the same performance

A little help if anyone would be kind enough to answer, which cpu is perfect for rx 6700 xt? I have a ryzen 3 3100 and have major bottleneck!!
You have a AM4 motherboard so you can upgrade to a 5600 or even up to 5800X3D.
@@PCBuilderChannel thank you!! But my motherboard is a gigabyte A320.
Ah, then its worth changing out your board too
@@PCBuilderChannel so which board perfect for 5600x?
Hello i have a question.
Im building a pc for my gf, and i have chosen your first option as a Good budget friendly one. But she is an almost professinal graphic designer working with a variety of programs ( adobe(s), blender, video and image rendering and editing, etc).
-Should i spend a little more for a better cpu? (Which do you recomend)
-does having a nvdia gpu (ex 3060 ti) makes a Big diference comparing to a 6650xt-6700xt.
(Her Mac is old and slow)
Thank you ❤
Hello! For people who are going to be using Adobe it is better to go with Nvidia (AMD still has issues, especially with photoshop etc). So in that case go for a 3060ti but the 5600 is still a great pair.
If you did want to upgrade the CPU the 12400 is a good choice but the 5600 is good choice too.
@@PCBuilderChannel thank you for your quick answer and your amazing channel in general ❤
Quick question. Asrock B550M PG Riptide or Steel Legend? And why not B550?
Thank you for your help. I used your channel to help build my first system and i couldnt be happier

Sharp eyes! I wondered if anyone would spot that lol. Make sure you stay to the very end for another special appearance (;
@@tilapiadave3234 Well, I have 16GB and the latest AAA titles fill it all up. So evidently more is needed already.

Hi there, new to building a pc so forgive me if I’m asking a stupid question. For the $850 build would I be able to swap out the 5600 for a 5700x and have every other parts the same ?
Yes though I wouldn’t personally. The 5700X won’t give you any boost
@@PCBuilderChannel thanks for the reply !
