    ** LYRICS **
[HILDEGARD] Whither have the worthy gone, oh, where is fair Gawain?
Where is gallant Galahad to take the bridle rein?
[WHITNEY] Is there not a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and I dream of what I need
    [H] I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero 'til the end of the night
    I pray he be hale,
    Wingèd of heel
And newly return’d from the fight
    [W] I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero 'til the morning light
    He must be assur’d
    E’er true to his word
With a wit that will thrill and excite
    Thrill and excite
Erelong at the witching hour within my reverie
Somewhere just beyond the veil someone reacheth out for me
[H] Racing on a courser and clad in gleaming mail
I shall answer none but he who bringeth me the grail
    [W] Aaah, I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero 'til the end of the night
    Could I but afford
    My very own sword
I would not require his might
    [H] I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero 'til the morning light
    By god was he blessed
    E’er true to his quest
A man of whom Chaucer will write
[W] Up where the dragons glide near heaven above
    Out on a storm-tossed odyssey
Verily doth a saintly champion ride toward me
[H] Through the wind, and the chill, and the rain
    The plague, and the flood
I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood
    [BOTH] I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
    I pray he be hale,
    Wingèd of heel
And newly return’d from the fight
    I need a hero
I shall hold out for a hero ‘til the morning light
    A knight, not a pawn
    A true paragon
With armor and eyes shining bright
    I need a hero

For the longest time I wondered what made her medieval covers so special, and it's because she makes the songs so much her own, she doesn't just add a "thou" in with a few violins, she cleverly rewrites the line and instruments but she keeps the original meaning and improves them!

She's gonna wait a while, answering to none. Actually finding the Grail ends in two ways, Arthurian-legend-wise:
      - getting fireballed into many weeks of recovery from your crippling wounds, should you prove unworthy
      - getting ascended straight into Heaven, body and Grail and all, otherwise
So, bottom line... for this to happen to you, you have to be in Heaven already, which in her case has "dead" as a prerequisite! Still, good line

My issue with bardcore is most of it is surface level... "Let's just take a pop song and redo it with instruments"
It doesn't sound like medieval music, it just sounds like a pop song done with weird instruments like "hey guys I redid the amogus theme with a kazoo".
Music from this era was supposed to last and tell a story... But bardcore for the most part might as well be redoing songs like WAP or some shit ruining the feel

I thank ye; all that would pay pilgrimage to my prayer, and lend to them the nudge of your own attention. You have lent your power to this endeavor, and this victory is yours as much as mine.
Prithee tell: have ye latch'd upon my words for the cadence of days lost, or the sentiment which I anticipated to fade into anonymity? Would ye have peaked such interest if I had said "commenting for the algorithm", as I nearly did indeed write? I feel as an imposter: I know not how words would be spoken so long ago- the difference between "hast" vs "have", "shall" vs "shalt", and many more elude me. Tis fun, and of much humor, to speak in such a manner, but does it not get tiresome to ye? I eagerly await your answers.

For I have the pride, the privilege, nay, the pleasure of introducing to you to a knight, sired by knights. A knight who can trace his lineage back beyond Charlemagne. I first met him atop a mountain near Jerusalem, praying to God, asking his forgiveness for the Saracen blood spilt by his sword. Next, he amazed me still further in Italy when he saved a fatherless beauty from the would-be ravishing of her dreadful Turkish uncle. In Greece he spent a year in silence just to better understand the sound of a whisper. And so without further gilding the lily and with no more ado, I give to you, the seeker of serenity, the protector of Italian virginity, the enforcer of our Lord God, the one, the only, Sir Ulllrrrich von Lichtenstein!

Just the other day I was thinking about how long it’s been since your last video, and now I understand why it took so long! The animations in this are amazing and gorgeous! The musical arrangement and modified lyrics are, as always, so very well done. I fall in love with von Blingin’s voice every time I hear it, and that love burns hotter and more brightly with each song. Thank you for your high quality cover, and I applaud your ambitions to make each video better than the last.

Literally my least favourite part. The more modern pop style of singing feels hugely out of place, and is then immediately eclipsed by the pure tones of Hildegard. Makes me want a solo version

In addition to the cleverness of the lyrics, the beauty of the animation, and the great instrumentation and singing, I love the fact that the ladies turn out to be their own heroes by the end of the video. Really nice storytelling.
