It's too bad there isn't more Springfield live in the vaults, but they didn't bother taping anything at the time. This is a great example of why their shows are "legendary." Great performance, intensity and jamming for its timeframe, but very little documentation to listen to. We fill in with our imaginations how great they were, and legends are born.
Buffalo Springfield - Mr. Soul (LIVE): The Teen And Twenty Club, Huntington Beach, Huntington, Orange County, CA (August 12, 1967) Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin
I was fortunate enough to see them at the San Diego Sports Arena back in '67 or '68...can't remember. They were actually great sounding as far as concerts go. I do remember that! My wife, whom I didn't know, was there too! We met ten years later. She even remembered that concert and how good they were! One of my all-time favorite bands! Loved those hippie days. ☮️ Peace & Love.
This is classic Neil. I wonder if they covered things that weren't on their albums and jammed them this hard... or was just this and Bluebird? Anyone got a date or even a year on this one?
I'm guessing this was their last song of the set? I don't have their set list, don't know. I'm wondering if any of you guys sang on stage during your lives? The mic can send out a distorted signal all on its own, right? In this case, the recorder level could be at fault, but then there's also the PA itself.

so ten years after? lol
Excellent live version. Saving this one ! 😃
Listen to this song high and you’ll see why this music from this era will never happen again
This is the best recording I have ever of them in my 65 years. Thank you. It's the real them.
Barry Scott That’s so great! Glad you enjoy it as much as I 😅
@@spacecaptain87 Oh, fantastic!
This is great... Really great song for extended jamming... This song has some great guitar solos...
“Why don’t you ask her!”
I know right. Rough as guts recording but those solo's exhibit some raw intensity only Neil could pull off.
This is the best I've ever heard them! Thank you. Any more where this came from? Heavier, more psychedelic, and Dewey really steps up live.
Great Band!!!!
Oh so good. Taxman
Really great!
Outside of the distortion and the vocals being hard left (a la Atlantic Records recording John Coltrane), this is actually very good.

Well THIS is an amazing find!
Wow so this is what Neil was talking about when he wished their studio albums captured their live sound
The real deal, take me back. That distinct Neil lead tone & staccato phrasing on a grt song.
So heavy with the Gibson guitar. So blessed.
Gretsch, almost certainly
Richie and Steve played Gibsons.
I play this song I am a big fan google riel boire

How much of this is there?
Apparently the whole set but nobody’s letting it go which is a total bummer
The guitar solo sounds just like the one from the guitar solo from search and destroy by the stooges as both were Vietnam war era songs
Thank-you Aaron! Do you know where /when it was recorded?
The Teen and Twenty Club, Huntington Beach on August 12, 1967, the day Neil rejoined the band.
Neils vocal mic makes his guitar sound clean by comparison.
