- Extremely rare clip of the Buffalo Springfield (with Jim Fielder subbing on bass for Bruce Palmer) from a short lived Hollywood produced TV show called GO . This was taped on March 5, 1967 and aired on April 23, 1967.
Incredible footage of the Buffalo Springfield in their prime but unfortunately nearly ruined by the disrespectful director who felt it necessary to splice in footage of someone on a telephone over the performance footage repeatedly. This one is cool as it shows Neil playing some of the great lead guitar fills! I cleaned it up as best I could but quality is unfortunately lacking!
It's funny how all those old bands, when told to "lip-sync" their songs, made no effort to look like they were actually performing. I've seen footage of those old TV shows and the guys wink, nod, and smile into the camera when they are supposed to be singing. The Beatles were notorious for doing it.
In high school some friends and I got tickets to one of those tv shows and Creedence Clearwater were hilarious faking the lip syching. The director kept yelling "Cut" and then admonish the band to cooperate but Creedence would go right back to being way out of sych.
The Grass Roots do that too haha!
I’d like to imagine that the Rolling Stones were just impressed with the riff when they first came across this song.
It's more likely that Neil Young was inspired by Keith Richards riff in Satisfaction.
@@susancioban-dwyer2569Satisfaction AND Let’s Spend the Night Together.
Bless Neil Young, he is a treasure!
Super rare clip . Roots of Neil . Hard rockin riff .
Neil young always sings so angrily! I once saw him smile on Dylan 50th anniversary video singing My Back Pages.
Laugh-in would later use this format in their shows.
%100 ROCK AND ROLL ! ! !
QUE BUENA MÚSICA ! ! !
Coco Loco lanoche'!!!
AAAAIEEEEEEE!!!
It's still tons better than the crap produced today!!
Winnipeg's crown prince.👑
Incredible! I thought a color copy of this was lost forever. Do you have a pristine copy of Rock & Roll Woman from their Rhode Island TV performance?
Greatest
The version of "Mr. Soul" they're miming to is the same one they mimed to on the Hollywood Palace.
Richie Furay Stephen Stills Graham Nash and Neil Young shall unite with a drummer and bass guitar player for a tour playing Buffalo Springfield CSNY and solo music together.
Shame, it wasn't played live.
Whoever produced this with VO5 models posing with princess phones("Hello? Is this Mr. Soul?") must have overdosed on bubble gum and girl scout cookies.
It was me

I felt the same way I found the added videos with the models with phones was very corny
Miming, the start of videos and nobody even new it
Great song! Got that Satisfaction beat and a punk feel. The directing and editing of the clip is rubbish, though.
I wish they wouldn't of put those women with the telephones in it, kind of ruins the video.
What a fantastic music video and it's a rare one, as well
I Can't Get No Satisfaction?
Es verdad.....
Cmon for christ sake. The songs are completely different. They only have a similar riff.
Which was ferst? 😮
Satisfaction was released in 1965 and this song two years later
Pensé lo mismo jaja
It's not the same as the studio track. I think it was actually live.
Neil, how much did the suit cost?
Stephen take that hat off , you look like George Washington!
I personally found from a contemporary viewpoint that the touches of humour were pretty cheesy
I'm sure Neil wasn't impressed with the producers of this show, or their message!!
Neil Young is a douchebag.
It's there right
Terrible incongruous "comedy"show biz productions like this embarrassed us back then. It was rare when a rock and roll group were allowed to play it straight. Jazz and folk music was usually spared this ridiculous treatment on TV. Pete Seeger's show was great. Ralph Gleason's jazz show was amazing. Even the BBC's variety shows weren't immune from schlock. Things improved greatly a few years later.
That is just a smoking bass riff.
Not exactly a mime. Parts are mimed and some sections I have never heard. The way it ends is not a mime.
Actually doesn't look like they mimed the song. Looks live.
Neil Young in Confederate officer frock coat!
Rick james buddies.
Where's Bruce Palmer? And who's that clown playing lead guitar 🎸?
Well when Neil was in, Bruce was out, and when Neil was out, Bruce was in. They played that revolving door all year long in 1967. Funny enough Neil missed The Monterey Pop Festival but Bruce didn't! Oh and that's Jim Fielder filling in for Bruce on bass. Jim would then become a member of Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
@@matthatter2849 Thank you for the information! I was not at Monterey Pop so I never saw Bruce Palmer there. I did see him at Fillmore West with Buffalo 🐃 Springfield. I was sitting on the floor and Neil Young walked right 👉 past me. I reached up and touched the fringe on the bottom of his jacket. Ever since then I have kept one or two fringe jackets in my closet. I always wear one whenever I go out.
@@matthatter2849 I saw saw Blood, Sweat and Tears at the Tacoma Dome. They were awesome. I was quite surprised at their level of excellence.
don;t think this was mimed
Not to offend, but heavily borrower from satisfaction. Whichever came first
Regardless, this is better than Satisfaction. The middle guitar bridge is out-of-this-world sensational.
Satisfaction 1965. This 1967 apparently. Interesting no lawsuit 😂😂
It does have a similar riff to Satisfaction. This song was released in 1967, Satisfaction in 1965.
Yep...backing tracks....I loathe backing tracks.
Great song, stupid tv show.
