Sorry to annoy you with a question, after following the steps everything went fine and my scene started rendering, but when it finished, it didn't save and the last lines on the log are different from yours. In yours, after the line that says "Finished" it says "Saved: (path)". On my end, after the "Finished" line, it just says "^C", and my file wasn't saved. I tripled check all the paths and everything looks normal. Any ideas what might be? I wanted a single frame so I setted the -s and -e at "01" for both. That's the only thing different from your setup (that and the fact that I installed a different version of Blender, but just a newer one). I also did connect to gcollab with Google.

After troubleshooting it with different settings it seems that the problem was that the final file output was simply to big/heavy (it was a very high-res multi-layer exr that, if saved, would have resulted in a 2gb file or so). I guess the system run out of memory or something after finishing and trying to save such a large file.
Damn, you're right. That was my issue too. Tried to swap the blender file to something super basic now, instead of my heavy scene. Now it works. Did you figure out any workaround? Or did you completely give up on this?
@@synsam12345 I had the issue several times and IIRC it was always a relation between the (little) remaining avaible memory of the system while rendering and the amount necessary to actually write the finished file once the rendering processing was done. The only solution I found was to optimice/simplify the scene to reduce its memory consumption so to give it enough headroom to write the output.
This is a lifesaver! I will try it tomorrow, (I work on the library computer so it takes like a 2 hours to render with it's cpu a shitty quality image! Hope this improves it!!) Many many thanks!

If I have to be honest its tricky at first, I also had multiple issues to make it work, Try to delete all the files then follow the video from the start, hope that helps.... If not you can try with other videos and scripts, but don't expect a lot because even if you make it you have something like 1-2 hours per day for rendering...@@willtube2

I was facing the same problem but when i did not run the cell which was meant for terminating error (This cell- To get rid of possible errors run this) my problem was solved. This is weird 😂

Check the file path you copied into the render initiation code. and try again, had the same issue, just fixed it by putting the right file path. hope this helps.

In Colab, Delete your "Renderz" folder you have just created, and inside your Google Drive create a new folder named "Renderz" and try to restart rendering in Colab. Your folder was created inside Colab and not in Google Drive. I've got the same Error the first time I've tested Google Colab

I found this too. Just testing out a scene. I guess I wasn't sure exactly who the target audience was. My Nitro 5 with a Laptop 3050ti caught up the T4 in 30 seconds after 3.5 minutes running Collab. GREAT tutorial, but it doesn't look like I'll have need for it.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I also changed the file type to "OPEN_EXR_MULTILAYER", since that's what I needed.

Blender quit
Any way to solve this?

In Colab, Delete your "Renderz" folder you have just created, and inside your Google Drive create a new folder named "Renderz" and try to restart rendering in Colab. Your folder was created inside Colab and not in Google Drive. I've got the same Error the first time I've tested Google Colab
Thanks for the tutorial! I have a question though: when I start rendering, it says "Error: cannot render, no camera". I have only one camera activated, so I don't think that's the issue. Do you please know how to fix it?

This was an amazing tutorial. I was stuck at the libtcmalloc part and I couldn't find even a clue about how to solve it. Thank you especially for putting timestamps on your video. I wouldn't find the tiny information I need in a half hour long tutorial.

I found this too. Just testing out a scene. I guess I wasn't sure exactly who the target audience was. My Nitro 5 with a Laptop 3050ti caught up the T4 in 30 seconds after 3.5 minutes running Collab. GREAT tutorial, but it doesn't look like I'll have need for it.

not recommends. Certain things in EEVEE will be imposible to run in colab without opening blender window(colab runs blender on as command line).
