    To anyone wondering….. yes this still works. I am rendering out an animation from blender 3.3.1 while still working locally!!! This is amazing. This guy gives all the resources needed to get going. Even has a follow up video to address some issues ( device doesnt take que was one I got. Quick fix of “no optix” change to “cuda” and boom works fine.) thanks for this!!!

      3.4.1 still works smoothly. This is absolutely amazing. Saved my render time up to 20X.
      One question, i have some smoke simulation and I've baked it but somehow it doesn't show up in render. Any idea why?

    • @pornstarSR
      @pornstarSR Рік тому +3

      @@oshapermadi yes, I have been still using it.. so heres how I have figure out some things. smoke sims, or fluid sims you NEED to upload the cache folder for the sim. it wont use it or know about it without the cache. just load the folder into the same spot the .blend file is on your google drive. BUT you ( might ) need to change the file destination lookup in the blend file to save the cache/ find the cache in the project folder. or base folder. blender defaults to a temp folder in windows. once I load the cache, and pack materials etc into the blend. they show up. I have had issues with some sims/ HDRI's not showing from some materials. the autopack option seems to work the best without debugging. I did the "pack resources" one and it missed a few.

    My render is purple due to a missing hdri
    Do you know how to import my hdri file ?
    Error : File '/e/Blender/HDRis/Indoors/Warehouse_4k.hdr' does not exist.
    What is the file directory I need to put in my environment texture ?

      You need to download the Linux (not windows) blender version. Only the Linux version will run on colab. It makes no difference though whether your blender file was created on windows or Mac or Linux to begin with. As long as you have installed the Linux version on colab

    Thanks for the great tutorial
    This final command line, without the GPU Python script, but with the "-- --cycles-device OPTIX" option, works even faster
    The "-o //" enables you to force the output folder -
    These two additional arguments mean that you don't have to worry about the blend file configuration
    !sudo /content/blender-2.91.0-linux64/blender -b $filename -noaudio -E 'CYCLES' -o // -F 'PNG' -f 1 -- --cycles-device OPTIX

    Hi, I am using one of your codes on google colab. everything was going fine in 2021 but now I am facing a problem. when I used this code (cycles devices-OPTIX) it was not gonna work. when I replace this with (Cycles devices- CUDA) it works but rendering time is very lengthy. if you could make a new tutorial using OPTIX instead of CUDA because when I used CUDA the system does not use GPU. it is just using the CPU of a virtual machine.
    Thanks for your valuable time.
