    One thing that helped me a lot is turning 3d objects in the background into Planes, convert the object on it's own into a PNG with a transparent background, so i have a bunch of planes, works well for some scenes and reduces the polygon count soo much, really depends though on what you want to do and what you need to be 3d and what can be made 2d.

    • @DimiArt
      @DimiArt 3 роки тому +9

      Also forgot to mention, you can do this for animated objects as well, i had an animated tree from the Botaniq addon, i then converted it into a Gif (image sequence) and basically had a whole forest of animated trees set up this way, time consuming set up, but worth it if you're really passionate about getting that render done.

      It’s a good idea for compositing flexibility, but it’s absolutely not a time saver.

    • @FreddyMcLennon
      @FreddyMcLennon 3 роки тому

      I think it's a great idea...
      Maybe not a timesaver, but I have 2 RTX3080Ti grafics cards, and sometimes I do run out of memory (in Cycles Optix ,wich is faster dan the normal Cycles GPU rendering)
      Rendering with CPU is an option but takes a lot longer to render and is (for me?) not an option at all ...
      So this looks like a great way to break up your scene and later on have way more control in post (and don't need to render again and again)
      My question then is ... could you make a tutorial on how to get these layers back together in the Blender compositor? 😄

    • @RenderRides
      @RenderRides  8 місяців тому

      Let's say you have 3 render layers for the 160 frames. What you want to do is import those three sets of 160 images as image sequences in whatever software you're using to composite them. Then you simply stack them o top of each other in the timeline to get the full image. Here's my workflow in AfterEffects if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/q62uih1DNrI/v-deo.html

      Check the background pass before rendering. That's where only the HDRI is (or any other background color you may have used).
      Otherwise, you could also just turn everything off and render just the HDRI. You might not even need to render out an animation and just render an image instead, depending on whether your camera is rotating or not.

      It could yeah. You'll see a significant improvement over the old Cycles when you render a complicated scene using GPU computing. For simpler scenes, it doesnt work all that well. I mean it seems like there is no benefit for you...

    • @RenderRides
      @RenderRides  Рік тому

      Sometimes your hardware isn't powerful enough to render your scene. It may take an obscure amount of time, or your scene doesn't even start rendering because your VRAM ran out, for example.
      Which is why these renderfarm services exist, which have multiple computers dedicated solely to rendering out users' scenes. It'll save you time and allow you to focus more on the stuff that actually matters than waiting for your scene to render, or sometimes you don't even have a choice because you simply cannot render your scene with your existing hardware without reducing the quality, in broad terms.
      Hope this made sense :)
