sorry i was bugging you about your haptic vest, i was excited - didn't mean to give you a hard time. im not sure if i'm on another discord account or you unblocked me, but i'm seeing ya on discord again - will refrain from bugging you. happy you're back to making content.
Hey it's okay lol, don't worry about it. I was away from my socials for a number of months, so I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you. If you still have any questions don't hesitate to hit me up again! And thank you so much for your support!
Thank you so much for your amazing work! I really enjoyed your video (I would say that it's first video that i enjoyed that much in a REALLY long time), and I'm happy that there is someone who actually makes real budget vr content (I have never seen anyone covering budget pimax headsets from ebay).
I recently upgraded from an i7 4790k to Ryzen 5 3600. I got it for only $30 along with an amd wraith prism cooler. Then, for $100, i bought an atx b550 mobo. I bought $40 32GB DDR4 3200MHZ, and a $30 pcie 4.0 nvme m.2 ssd for boot. I also upgraded my gpu from gtx 1660 6gb to an MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 3060 12gb for $180. So the pc you used in this video fits well for me. Big upgrade, I tested VR on it and it's night and day difference in performance!
Ended up building slime vr 7+3. £130 is about right. The hardest part i had was the 3d printed casing but thankfully someone gave me theirs for a resonable price. Using BMI160s but can say i dont have the strength to de-solder and re-solder the better IMUs
Hey man, I just stumbled upon this video, and I watched it the entire way through. Such a well-made guide and it's quite frankly amazing you were able to put together that entire setup for so cheap. I was really surprised seeing how many subscribers you had when I actually clicked away from Google to UA-cam, I expected at least a million. You must be one of the most underrated UA-camrs ever.
Thank you for this video, I did not know psvr could be used as full body, Totally going to use it with my vive as i had them from when I attempted getto vr with my phone and psvr for hand and head tracking back in 2019.
i would say if you are on a budget do not get a quest 1 support has been dropped you will experience issues and the tracking decent i recommend the Rift CV1 and buy a third sensor for better tracking its a lot much of a better option than the quest 1
4:14 i may be a bit late but dont forget to check if the motherboard has a wifi adapter if you dont want to use ethernet, not all motherboards come with wireless internet
I got recommended your quest 2 outdoor video when it released and then patiently have been waiting for another upload. Thank you for brightening my day, I'll call off the hitman I was going to send now.
For a while I used my old CV1 with an extra CV1 touch controller as a tracked object (totaling 3 controllers, each being AA battery powered with multi-day battery life) and had near vive tracker accurate full body. CV1s are pretty cheap, and the possibility of getting controllers with worn-out/broken sticks for next to nothing, just for the sake of their tracking ability, is quite a nice second wind of life for old hardware like it. The only problems I can think of are that you need to run a separate headset independent of the Oculus PC app (either streamed using something like virtual desktop or a native SteamVR headset), the CPU horsepower to run the several pieces of software simultaneously (Oculus PC app, Driver4VR or the GitHub equivalent software, wireless streamer software for any wireless headset and SteamVR), and at least 4 spare USB slots for the CV1 and 3 cameras (it barely can work with 2, but 3 covers your bases). Since I had it lying around when I upgraded headsets, it was a pretty solid solution for me. Here's hoping that more cheap tracking hardware trickles down from the top, or maybe some second-wind use for any older VR-tracked hardware out there.
Hey that's exactly what I use! Except that I only have 2 cameras and 2 controllers, I use the entire whole headset as a chest tracker which is incredibly funny to look at, but also oddly accurate and somewhat comfortable, of course I'll run into the issue of having yet another extra cable on my body, but since this is my only option, it does the trick *very* well, and it's not as bad as it sounds when you get used to it! I seriously do want to get another extra sensor and a 3rd controller instead of using the headset itself, but sadly they don't sell those in my country, so the odds of me getting my hands on them is very very rare, but it is something I want!
if you happen to have any of the pico headsets starting from neo3, the pico 2.0 trackers are a no brainer and for someone that has a compatible pico headset cant be beaten on price, quality or easy of use. picked them up recently recently and was very impressed.
in my personal opinion i would go for a quest 2 as the system you using is capable of hitting 45 frames most of the time so with asychronos warp you can make it feel like 90 and with the quest 3 on the horizon you might be able to find some cheaper ones for a more perfectly balanced system.
Quest 2 would be a bad option pretty much any quest device would be a bad option there's tons of overhead for encoding decode of the video feed because it's not a direct video connection
I started off with a quest. And I fell in love with vr. I got a very very cheap prebuilt pc from my friend for 90 bucks that had a Ryzen 1600, a Radeon 570, and 16 gigs of t force ram. It was playable in my opinion I used my brothers valve index and it was pretty nice but recently I’ve been craving more like full body tracking and better graphics. Recently I got a better gpu which is a Gtx 1070 I got for 50 bucks at a pawn shop 😭 and I also got a valve index of my own for 500!! Almost brand new but used from someone. So now I can get easy 60 frames on vr chat with a valve index for only 650. I found out I have the ability to do the full body tracking project you did with psvr.
this is really good!!! i was confused by the video title as i thought that the fullbody part *alone* cost 750 quid... maybe you might wanna tweak that title? besides from that, excellent video :3
I'm so glad I watched this before putting any more money in my rig. All I need now is new vid w more RAM. I need better frames in Orion and other clubs.

Very informative, mate 😃 I had no idea about the PS Move being an option and I just may try that or the QR based one!
Just to add up, the second best tracking solution besides vive would be NoloVR , it uses the same exact tracking techology but only has 1 basestation so it's limited to 180 degree tracking, this can be improved with a custom firmware for ceiling mode, it can be found for around same price as Slime or Ps eye solution.
SlimeVR is shipping ... though only for the first 2k orders or something like that. The rest should ship until november. So its not that far away ... Finaly. Its been a long wait with lots of delays that slimeVR had no influence on ... like the war in Ukraine stopping a big shipment on a train in belarus.
Interesting. Im not currently interested in making a VR specific setup but this did tell me that if I ever do want to upgrade, going for a better graphics card would give me better frames in VR Chat. I currently have 8GB of Vram and im actually fine. I can stand to get a bit framey, Vritual Desktop is great with its "space warp" stuff so I only have to render half the frames.
i forgot about this video but now im back here, it made me wonder why sometimes my PC can run like 6 apps plus vrchat in vr really well and at 72fps flat, no drops then sometimes it just cant run a single player world despite all the performance saving i could manage im on a 1050ti and i3 10105f💀
Got a used 1080ti just recently as well. Very good video dawg. Only thing is I would personally recommend a cv1 over a quest 1 due to comfort overall, quest 1 is very bulky.

Seems like they have potential, but they are really expensive compared to other options. And there's also the latency if you're using them native with the app. Quality product, but not exactly suited towards VR. Unless more significant updates are made to the software to optimise it.
You know what, my first VR headset was a fucking google cardboard with a lot up ping pong ball and two ps moves tracked by two ps eye cameras with video transmitted to my phone through fucking usb 2. And I played beat saber.
It would appear I misunderstood how the heck components work cus I thought my thing was trash (because it barely ran) and this video says to use parts similar to what I have (I am not sure they are okay but with my nonexistent PC knowledge and the power of Task Manager and what it says my parts are, I have no clue what the heck is happening, probably just me being dumb though)
@@norsenbot1 it would be able to yes. If you've got any specific games in mind you can search up a video showing you how well they run by typing in something along the lines of: "1080ti (game name here) benchmark". Hope that helps!
