I know you are also working with VAIL, but what about with Microsoft Flight Simulator or UEVR Modded games? There is a lack of quality videos out there regarding PC and Laptop Hardware for VR

Thanks for the explanation I hope I can save up money to buy a laptop or a pc so I can play with friends school work and accomplish my dream of becoming a youtuber you just helped me find out what I should try to look out for in a pc when I buy one if I do
Here's a couple words of advice: NEVER use UserBenchmark. They are heavily biased against AMD graphics cards and processors, and you should ALWAYS go for building a PC yourself. Building a PC is way cheaper than buying a prebuilt, and you get way more bang for your buck. Also, if you want to upgrade, upgrading a build you built yurself is way easier, because usually, OEMs put a ton of proprietary stuff in their prebuilts, and they often solder components to the motherboard. They are heavily biased against AMD graphics cards and processors
thats a little rough for higher end vr games, how does half life alyx run? i played on a 1060 6gb and 16gb ram which is generally a bit above your pc and on low it still had pretty big drops down to like 30fps-40fps
This is very useful info. But on the laptop side of things you missed an important point: some laptops straight out do not (!) work with the non-standalone VR headsets (I.e. those that plug in to the HDMI port of your laptop). That is because the HDMI ports on some laptops are actually connected to the iGPU of the Laptop. So, a caution to go in buying a laptop without much research only if you have a Quest or Pico headset would have been good.
I used to be a big proponent of cabled vr, now with a proper wireless setup(air bridge), walking wall to wall in my living room with no cord is godsend.
Somewhat, though it isn’t the end all be all. You should also look at how many cores a cpu has. For instance, you could have a dual core cpu with 4ghz per core, but it would be better to get a cpu with four cores of 3ghz or something like that. Also highly recommend taking a look at what kind of games you want to run and comparing the minimum requirements then getting something at least a little better than that. Hope that helps!
Bro I'm still stuck with rocking a 1050ti which works, but is most likely the bottleneck leading to motion warp in certain games like Tabletop Sim and Devour.
Wait, you know M.2 NVME drives are SSDs right? Like, I'm gonna assume you do because you sound like you know what you're talking about but Sata SSDs aren't like some different technology to NVME SSDs, they just perform worse because higher end parts would be bottlenecked by the connected like how USB2 thumb drives are slower than USB3 thumb drives but they're all flash storage.

@Recroommusicsal the pc? Yes, it can play pretty much everythin in 1080p, some newer games you have to play in medium or low, but it should work very well for the price of a used gtx 1660 super, with the ryzen 5 5600g you could go up to an rtx 3060 if you have a good enough psu

I’m getting a laptop with a 370 to play vr with a cooling pad
whats a 370?
just a reminder amd is a little worse with vr but still is quite smooth in most games from experience with a $190 radeon rx 570 series
My lower end pc runs vr great with a RX 590 Saphire 8gb. My higher end is a RX 6650XT. Both have 32 Gb ram.
