I swear Standable has only been getting better and better the more I use it. While I'm still aiming for a good set of Slime trackers, I'm quite satisfied for now with what Standable has to offer. God, looking left to right without moving your entire body is a feature I didn't know I needed. Also, *beans.*
AYE thank you for watching! I'm really happy to hear how many people are loving Standable, it's such an unexpected shakeup to VR, things are heating back up!
Running owotrack on my phone and just throwing it into my hoodie puch as hip tracker and running the SlimeServer gives you not only beeing able to move head an body indepenant and not look stiff, you can also wiggle around you tail naturally, if your avatar has one. Pretty surreal expirience! Can really recommend it, setting up legs is a hassle with more phones, but just add tracking for the hip really ups the immersion for me like 200% when looking at a mirror.
@@BonelessVRsorry for the late question but I don’t really understand if slime is better than vive trackers and idk how to set it up if I even get them
Nice to get a bit of insight into FBT from someone I've met a few people with it and never got much information thank you so much for making this video^^
Sometimes I troll and pretend not to have full body and just ask people for advice on getting full body. What I usually end up getting is a bunch of myths and misconceptions, so I'm happy to spread good info!
okay, the comment about gender in there was super nice. I've been looking for an additional layer to my immersion and FBT is probably what I've been looking for. Thanks for honestly covering all the current (and future) tracking options!! The tracker-less option seems really good and I think it'll be my way into a better VRC experience!! (beans)
Some people didn't really like my warning but It's a conversation that needs to be had. I've seen full body impact people in a negative way just as much as I've seen it impact them in a positive way. I think the worst case was a close friend of mine who ended up getting diagnosed with MPD and was advised by his psychologist to get rid of his VR gear. Let me know what you think about whatever you end up getting!
@@BonelessVR Thanks for that little note. I could totally see myself developing some sort of dysmorphia if I'm not careful about the avatars I latch onto lol
Thank you for the lovely video! As well as honesty. Full body was something I invested in in 2018 due to my chronic health issues limiting my ability to walk. I've had countless people ask in game "why would you get it when you're limited as is?", frankly: because it's immersive. I wish I could tell more users that it's not fair to determine who can and can't invest in it. Sure I can't stand often, but I love that I can express myself with movement. It's been amazing to see how accessible some options are these days. I've started doing short form vr filming with myself as a model, and goodness am I tempted to grab tundra trackers for my knees since the IK can't always predict knee placement bar them knowing which direction your feet are facing. Everything in moderation 💕
I got this model made with this base specifically because it had the best IK I've ever felt in VR but yes the knees are always such a problem haha Thank you for the support! Some people didn't like the warning at the end but story time: I had a friend go down the VR wormhole and ended up getting diagnosed with some mental health things that lead his psychiatrist to recommend getting rid of his VR gear. It's really powerful, to the point that it can cause some problems. I'd love to meet you in VRC one day! You sound super chill! My VRC name is _boneless_, feel free to add me!
When I explain the options of full body to people that ask, I always say there are three categories to full body. 1: The cheapest and not as good quality tracking; this would be your Viso and other apps that use your phone camera, owotrack, standible, webcam tracking, and the best of this category being Kinect 360. £0 - 30 2: Medium expense with pretty good quality tracking; This would be your Slime vr, Nyx, mocopi and haritoraX. £100 - £400 3: Super expensive with the BEST quality tracking; being tundra trackers, and Vive trackers. £1000+
That’s a very great way of breaking it down! I should’ve gone more into the ultra cheap options, granted since they are so affordable it isn’t off the table for me to try them out!
One option I didn't know was possible is that you can mix vive/tundras with slime trackers! It makes it much cheaper to get the full degen pac- I mean 11-point tracking!
Ahaha, I am really excited to try Standable 2.0 with the mixed tracking, but to be honest the IK on my avatar is already so good that I'm not sure I'll notice any difference. Excited to give it a try though!
Im not quite sure how to phrase this, but the script for this video was pretty well-written and i thought the editing was pretty damn good. This video was helpful as hell, i always wanted to go into a full-body setup but I'm /abysmally/ bad when it comes to tech. I really do need to get a proper PC, seems just the Quest by itself doesn't cut it- You're fairly right about VR Chat just destroying your sleep schedule, ditto with it changing your personality traits overtime... It's wild to think about, but yeah, it really does change you, be it for better, worse, or a lil' bit of both
As someone who got into VR super recently I really appreciate these types of videos and content! I ended up picking up a second hand Valve Index and since it came with base stations I got the HTC Vive 3's to go with it. The absolute nightmare of cables will forever haunt me but the VR experience I get is so worth it, also beans thank you friend!
I actually use rift cv1 stations and controllers for FBT. Pretty much base station tracking quality and if you are fine with a bit of jank setup etc you can get it for pretty cheap! Battery life are like 30 hours or something aswell and can be swapped with any AA battery in seconds.
hear me out... mixing standable with imu tracking. you get best of both worlds. slimes have a tap to calibrate feature so all you would need is just the lower body set and to setup standable.
I’m in the Standable discord and I’ve heard that Standable is going to add the ability to mix different forms of tracking. I’m really excited to use the mixing feature because I am a Standable user
Thank you for the informative video, it was difficult finding a resource with this consolidated information that was easily digestible for someone unfamiliar but building out a game plan to get into VR and what's entailed. I def came out with a better understanding of what some of the options are. Worth a hill of beans.
Thank you for watching, I'll always do my best to make videos that are at the very least informative and digestible ahah. Let me know what you end up getting!
I just bought a Quest 2 VR headset and plan to get into VRChat and other VR social apps. This is an interesting and informative video. I can't wait to get into fully body tracking and exploring my identity through VR. Also, beans.
I got 11 point tracking 8 3.0 trackers and 4 base stations. I love to dance when in VRchat its the main thing i do. I can attest its really sensitive and costly to set up for deminishing returns for every trackers however you do get some hidden redundancy in your tracking accuracy which is handy.
When the timing is right I’d love to give 11 point a try! Just got my hands on good eye tracking, I think elbow tracking may be the next step :) would be really cool to do a side by side some day!
@@BonelessVR I just adjusted my set up and mixed in some Tundra Trackers for my arms and chest. They are great for your limbs they are way smaller and lighter than the 3.0 Vive Trackers.
I don't know if you didn't know this, but the Sony Mocopi you glossed over does work on standalone quest mode, which can be a selling point for a lot of standalone quest users
thanks a lot for making this video, the most real information on FBT I've watched, really helps with making that trigger decision. beans, beans, the more you eat, the more trackers yer gonna yeet?
Beans. To be fair i get what you are saying with the risk of mental health. My first online vr experience with other people was so intense it hooked me immediately. My first vr chat experience was something else, within minutes after creating an avatar i stumbled upon someone with full body tracking. The way that avatar moved towards me felt real to me and as soon as the avatar was leaning towards me to give a hug....... i felt it.... well not like an actual hug but more like an energy, as if a ghost touched me and gave tingeling sensations around the area of contact. It went from warm to cold and back. All that happened in less than 5 seconds at that moment i did not realize what that was and it freaked me out so i took a step back and reached my arms infront of me in a defensive way as a bokser or something. Spooked but fascinated by the experience i stayed around for a while. Eventually I had to take care of some responsibilities but as soon as i got back in i noticed i was chasing "the dragon" wich ended up with me staying in vrchat for 6 hours straight on my first day. I experience the same thing with others that don't have full body tracking but only in certain conditions and setting. All in all it made me to conclude: what if i get full body tracking myself? What if i can see my own avatar move in a way i recognize? The more natural movement looks the more vivid the sensations become. I've asked avatars to approach me slowely and the more i practice the more "the dragon" comes around. Wich makes me wonder: how deep does the rabbit hole go? To come to an end: with all this i want to experiment with full body tracking and although it's not possible for me to get some now, i will in the future. Now wich one would you recommend? I'm currently using the valve index with 3 base stations and finger tracking.
The way that you described it is perfect. I get the same experience quite often and to be honest, I love that technology exists that can make me feel that feeling. It definitely shook me at first, but I've been able to steel myself towards it and keep my head in check. If you've already got base stations, the best bang for your buck is Vive trackers or Tundra, if you're cool with it, get a used set of 3.0's and order brand new straps from Rebuff Reality or EOZ, this'll track incredibly accurately for the same price you'd spend on Slimes just because you've already got base stations.
Beans. But seriously, I loooveeee the way this video was edited, whoever did it, did a fantastic job. If that's you then.. *whistle's up and down* you aren't popular enough, but 'chu will be soon, at this rate.
I edit for way too long haha, but comments like yours make it way worth it. Got a new space to film b roll in, just finished an update of my avatar, going to keep the ball rolling on cool stuff
Amazing video. Really entertaining and I came back on day 2 to finish watching it because I had been up for 30 hours playing VRC originally when I started it. 10/10
"... The same trackers i use to ERP with..." 4:54 He just came right out and said it! I mean I know that's the main reason we use them, but he just said it so casually!
Not only this vid was helpful but more explaining and more straight to the point not to mention you broke it down simple as ever so I Gonna go with vibe trackers (I think that’s how you say it lol) thank you for the tips and advice this was really helpful
Thanks for making this video. I'm just finally getting into the world of VR with an HTC Vive XR Elite I got for a really good deal on Amazon. While I only have the headset and controllers I've been trying to figure out my options for full body tracking, and if it's even for me. I've seen videos of users doing all these cool things in VR and I go "I wanna do that too!" but this has helped me temper my expectations a bit. This Standable thing might be a good first step, then I can decide on what I want to go with later. Slime VR sounds a bit interesting as I'm thinking basic full body tracking would suit me.
4:54 *instert Leonardo Dicaprio point meme* Amazing video. I wanted to get some fbt in the near future, but I couldn't find a proper info on what to get, what it needs and how it works. Now please do one on how to import avis into vrc
I was going to note that I didn't think Beat Saber supported FBT natively, but looks like you corrected that. Otherwise, great video, and I hadn't known about the history of the pucks! And yeah, wires are certainly a thing to deal with if you are running 11pt, which is one reason I'm not doing it (amongst other reasons). Oh, and BEANS!
AYEEEEEEE I really appreciate it! The source I used for the FBT list was really wrong and my nugget bring didn't double check until it was too late. I can't imagine all of the cable management for 10 and 11 point, all the usbs, Tundra super dongles would make it easier but dang what a hassle
IMUs are actually incredibly simple. They measure acceleration in every direction, and rotation speed in every direction. Gravity is measurable as acceleration, so an IMU always knows for certain which way is down. What it doesn't know for certain is its yaw, so the way it's facing (Like north, south, etc). It can only infer this by keeping track of the rotation speed and integrating that over time to get a rotation amount. But because the sensors are imperfect small inaccuracies build up and the direction will diverge from the correct one, until you reset to tell it again which way it is currently facing
First, Beans. Second, as an owner of the Quest 3 and possible future owner of slime trackers, I'll say if I could get finger tracking to work with a pc connection in VR chat I would be satisfied and not get the FBT. I love interacting in the Meta side VRChat without controllers. Moving around, grabbing objects and dropping them, and signing ASL are so fun I could entertain myself for hours. Finger tracking with the front cameras is a game changer. What I'd like to see is 2, 3 or 4 camera 'base stations' which take the place of trackers and tracker base stations. Imagine having 4 $30 cameras on $10 tripods and never having to fiddle with trackers or drift. Just leave the big room lights on and let it rip.
Goddamn your youtube channel is soo good, how come I only stumble upon it now (instant sub), thank you so much for this vid! I'll definitely keep it in mind when I buy myself a fbt
2:58 to 3:01 Last thing I'd thought id ever see is my old jet from my original unit (f-16d 787) in a video explaining full body tracking for vrchat. But here we are
Im not new but taking a break from VRC and returning has made me really scared, nervous, confused, and sometimes sad. But all the happy time wich is most of the time makes up for it. I just really wish I had more people to walk me tru everything. Or have some sort of all VRC need-to-know book
For some reason this is the 2nd vr full body tracking thing I've watched even though I don't plan on getting any VR for quite a while but, you said the codeword missile so here's something I should mention, the main downfall of inertial reference is that it doesn't have a main reference point and the more they get moved around the more they drift, but they are still pretty accurate, for instance the V2 rocket and the ATACMS missiles in Ukraine right now use inertial guidance, however more modern missiles like tomahawks and the newer block ATACMS have reference points like GPS or even scanning the horizon and comparing it to an internal map. I think it's a matter of time before some system gets figured out to calibrate IMU's on the fly for FBT. As for inverse kinematics it's a thing that has been used quite a bit in some games and I think it will continue to get better but it's limited in the data it's fed, think about a line with 3 points on it, now move the outer points to each other, the middle point will have to move out of the way, however now imagine a line with 4 points, how will the 2 middle points hinge? The program will have to make a "decision" based on what it knows which I think will be interesting to see get better
beans, i just recently got my pc, and luckily i do have standable, it's a decent substitute to use until i can actually save up for the proper trackers and everything, this video helped me out a lot, so thank you so much for that ^^❤
BEANS, and this helped me so much!, its helped so much to get so much info in just a small vid, now when i do get the chance to get the trackers, i know about everything i need to!
i'm watching this even tho i dont have a VR yet haha. very informative stuff, good job on being clear and concise. i plan on getting an index sometime in the near future, and will feel out whether or not i want to send it on the FBT. beans btw !
BEANS...okay, I guess I always wanted to do that! Another great one, Boneless, and I am a Standable user now. I admit, like @Ton_Tonn, I likely will also get some kind of hardware FBT. I appreciate your fire side chat, and agree that FBT in VRC (well, any truly immersive social VR experience) can come with a personal price. In all cases of self discovery, "The truth will set you free...but first it will piss you off!" (Gloria Steinem) Cheers!
I have wired full body with reflashed vive wands as the trackers. Broken ones are so cheap and as long as tracking works there's no reason to get a working one other than resale. Also touchpad repair is super easy.
BEEEEEEEEEEANS! Another video I am coming back to watch again from my personal PC! I agree with you about FBT spoiling you. I was housesitting for a friend recently for a week and I took my headset, controllers and 10 SlimeVR trackers with me. Problem was, for some reason my friends computer would not detect my trackers over USB to change the WiFi network info. so for 3 days I had to use VRC without my Slimes and honestly... it was miserable. Even with Go Loco, its just not the same going back to half body. It is so jarring being used to having your leg move IRL and in VRC if your leg gets itchy when watching a movie in LSM or M&C and you go to scratch it and then not having that movement in your headset. Great video!
I built my Slimes DIY from scratch back in April I think? I use BMI160 IMUs in them and I remember there was a lot of jank with them when I built them (tho this is NOT Slime's fault - I had a fair few faulty components or just badly soldered joints that were causing problems so my fault for the joints) But honestly? The last few months everything has been great with them! The software on my PC that controls them and the firmware on my trackers has been steadily improving them. Even my friends have said how much better my tracking has been lately and asking if I changed anything. I have a quick reset set to a chord in OVR settings so as soon as I have drifted too much I can just press them both and in less than a second, my tracking is back to normal. :) Thank you for replying! @@BonelessVR
Beans, I'm getting slimevr trackers, and honestly I can't wait to join my goofy full body friend burritos in their wonderful shenanigans, VRChat is loads of fun WITHOUT full body, so I can only assume it's gonna be that and more WITH
Oh god full body brings it to a crazy level. The reason why I gave that warning is because I've seen it change people incredibly fast, if that isn't a testament to it's power then I don't know what is haha. One of my friends went down a really strange path because of it and ended up getting diagnosed with MPD and was told to get rid of his VR stuff. Prob should've included that in the video but it is what it is haha Thank you for watching and when you get those slimes let me know what you think!
I just bought full body tracking Slime VR since it's on sail and it'll be shipped until March 29th or 30th next year. I at least have plenty of time to prep my vr headset to work with my PC.
I ordered my first Vive 3.0 tracker about three hours ago and I'll be picking up the other two asap. I've been spending so much time around full body users that I'm finally pulling the trigger on it and joining them as mirror/couch dwellers. Or using them for Beat Saber videos.
speaking of a love/hate relationship with base stations, one of mine fell off the wall one day and collided against its power wire SO perfectly that it CLEANLY sliced through it. oh, the station broke too lmfao
Ik it's late to comment this but I recently built slimes (BNO085 IMUS) and the drift reset isn't terrible. I reset once every 30 minutes and all I do is triple touch my left thigh tracker to do a full reset. Also just reseting the saw every 20 minutes can make it so I don't have to reset as often (I've gone 45 to an hour without resetting)
i really liked this video! as a trans woman, vr as a whole, and vrchat specifically have helped me become more comfortable with who i am, and full body trackers were a huge part of that. when i started seeing my avatar as fully me, it drastically helped to increase my immersion which helped me see myself as a feminine figure
I mean you arent a woman. Just a very feminine man. And thats okay. The idea that gender exists and that men and woman should dress or act a way is dumb. And to be a "trans" person is just enforcing such a dumb social practice
One thing I’m tempted on trying is using my 6pt tracking setup with Standable to see how it fills in those edge cases of tracking (shoulders, elbows, etc.). I heard it does pretty well! Hopefully my BEANS pc can handle it.
My big thing with Full Body that makes me decidedly not want it is that I'm pretty disabled. standing for longer than 15 minute bursts starts becoming taxing to me, and... I live in a place that is pretty gosh darned tiny and cluttered, so there's not really a good place for me to get up and walk around.
Thank you so much I was really considering getting one but I had no idea about anything and I think the video explains so much Just a note for myself I might try to get my hands on slime
Beans! I just got Slime VR in the mail and looking forward to full body tracking. I plan to use it in VR Chat but also for animation Motion capture which I have wanted to do ever since I took Motion capture class from college and I loved the experience.
I ordered the SlimeVR beans in January last year and I'm still waiting for those, I wanted gyroscope trackers over laser trackers because I want to sleep with friends while having a blanket covering me ..
Thank you for watching! The new VRChat beta allows you to lock trackers in place when they lose tracking, felt super weird to have a blanket on and my body not go flying haha. I've got a few people in the server with Slime and so far they are enjoying it! I even have one person who will soon be using them for full motion capture! The results are really really good for what they are and especially how cheap they are
BEANS! Honestly yea, I'm getting FBT be-CAUSE of my dysphoria. VRChat as it is was already a huge boon for me in satiating those feelings, so I know that FBT will only make that all the more, because nothing has consistently upset me more than looking at "myself" and being so close to being able to feel a bit better in my skin when I need it (which isn't that often tbh, but again, the option is nice) but not being able to just...express myself fully. It's just a nice safety net when the feelings get especially bad. It's a healthy outlet, to help me stay more grounded in life all the rest of the time.
TL;DR slimeVR is 99% of what 99% will use FBT for I have full body base station tracking but I've bought slimes anyways as everything I want from FBT can be achieved better with IMUs, I'm not athletic so I don't need sub mm accuracy for my punches and kicks, I want occlusion free tracking that won't bug out if I'm sitting at my desk, my base stations also never work, I had 2 1.0s like 2 years ago that worked perfectly, top tier tracking, but they got damaged by flood water, then I bought another pair of 1.0s which broke after a few months, just recently I bought 2 2.0s expecting them to live up to the hype around them, they arrived kinda DOA but vice won't take them back, they just jitter a bit and while being more reliable than my quest inside out tracking in terms of loosing tracking algotgether, the jitter makes it actually impossible to shoot a gun in VR, hopefully base station 3.0s fix this, or even better I hope inside out tracking gets good enough to kill them entirely
a deeper dive into slime: it is an open source project. you can make you own slime trackers, horatora is based off slime. my trackers used removable 18650 batteries that i can hot swap. and a 10 bay battery charger. if a set dies i can just swap them in a few min. if you want one single battery you can make it.
as far as drift, configure your firmware to use the magnetometers. as long as you dont have any large magnetic fields the drift should be a non issue, and i if it is a quick double tap will straighten you out. there are several builders that use different imus for the tracking. the bmi1060 is the best bang for buck, and the do ok, but they dont have magnetometers so they will drift a bit.
Beans, anyway, I do think SL0 is working on giving bonelab fullbody support, but I haven't seen anything about progress on it. It might have existed on release, they might have scrapped it. I don't know. But I think its being worked on.
From what I've gathered, they said they are working on it but it's been a very long time and people are losing hope for it. I was shocked that there isn't even a mod for it, at least during the time that I looked. Thank you for watching!

You can look right and left with your right Controller Stick I thought? I know it's very annoying but with that it seems possible
@@pogney973OwOTrack doesn’t work for me for some reason. Tried Viso and I’m always floating. Standable has to be a last resort.

I got this model made with this base specifically because it had the best IK I've ever felt in VR but yes the knees are always such a problem haha
Thank you for the support! Some people didn't like the warning at the end but story time:
I had a friend go down the VR wormhole and ended up getting diagnosed with some mental health things that lead his psychiatrist to recommend getting rid of his VR gear. It's really powerful, to the point that it can cause some problems.
I'd love to meet you in VRC one day! You sound super chill! My VRC name is _boneless_, feel free to add me!
Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull throne! BEANS FOR THE ALGORITHM!!
AN OFFERING
When I explain the options of full body to people that ask, I always say there are three categories to full body.
1: The cheapest and not as good quality tracking; this would be your Viso and other apps that use your phone camera, owotrack, standible, webcam tracking, and the best of this category being Kinect 360. £0 - 30
2: Medium expense with pretty good quality tracking; This would be your Slime vr, Nyx, mocopi and haritoraX. £100 - £400
3: Super expensive with the BEST quality tracking; being tundra trackers, and Vive trackers.

I really do need to get a proper PC, seems just the Quest by itself doesn't cut it-

This was by far the most informative video on full tracking i've seen. Thank you. PS, beans.
AYE thank you for watching! I'm glad it was helpful!
If you have psvr controllers and the eye toy cameras from the ps3 you can use them for FBT as well just need several usb extensions
Someone in my server just showed me that the other day! One of the strangest but most functional tracking setups I’ve seen, super super cool
Can’t wait to see this!
AYO same
can the rift cv1 stations can connect with any vr headset?

hear me out... mixing standable with imu tracking. you get best of both worlds. slimes have a tap to calibrate feature so all you would need is just the lower body set and to setup standable.

Tundras setup looks so good, it’s tempting haha
I got 11 point tracking 8 3.0 trackers and 4 base stations.
I love to dance when in VRchat its the main thing i do.
I can attest its really sensitive and costly to set up for deminishing returns for every trackers however you do get some hidden redundancy in your tracking accuracy which is handy.

beans, beans, the more you eat, the more trackers yer gonna yeet?
Yeet the god dang trackers. Thank you for watching homie!

Thanks for making this video. I'm just finally getting into the world of VR with an HTC Vive XR Elite I got for a really good deal on Amazon. While I only have the headset and controllers I've been trying to figure out my options for full body tracking, and if it's even for me. Amazing video.

Last thing I'd thought id ever see is my old jet from my original unit (f-16d 787) in a video explaining full body tracking for vrchat.
But here we are
Thank you for this! I have a valve index and I was thinking of getting full body tracking for my birthday for only £110 for waist and legs.
Literally subbed for the dino nuggies cryptocurrency joke, good lord that was good

I step into VR for the first time. Christ… I didn’t imagine there would be an impulse purchase for more additional trackers.
I have wired full body with reflashed vive wands as the trackers. Broken ones are so cheap and as long as tracking works there's no reason to get a working one other than resale. Also touchpad repair is super easy.
Beans, I love your videos man keep being awesome 😁
Thank you for watching!
The scratch your leg thing is easily one of the best examples I've heard of. How are you liking slime so far btw?
Prob should've included that in the video but it is what it is haha

Or using them for Beat Saber videos.
speaking of a love/hate relationship with base stations,
one of mine fell off the wall one day and collided against its power wire SO perfectly that it CLEANLY sliced through it. oh, the station broke too lmfao
Been a proud parteon of Standable
i really liked this video! as a trans woman, vr as a whole, and vrchat specifically have helped me become more comfortable with who i am, and full body trackers were a huge part of that. when i started seeing my avatar as fully me, it drastically helped to increase my immersion which helped me see myself as a feminine figure
BEANSSS, thanks for getting me onto vrc, got me socialised eventually, will report on the jorney few month and year in xD
My big thing with Full Body that makes me decidedly not want it is that I'm pretty disabled. standing for longer than 15 minute bursts starts becoming taxing to me, and... I live in a place that is pretty gosh darned tiny and cluttered, so there's not really a good place for me to get up and walk around.

was looking into full body tracking beacuse of dancedash/footsaber
would standable be able to handle that?
I didn't have a sleep schedule in the first place so we're chillin 😎
Liked just for the intro
Much appreciated!
TL;DR slimeVR is 99% of what 99% will use FBT for
I have full body base station tracking but I've bought slimes anyways as everything I want from FBT can be achieved better with IMUs, I'm not athletic so I don't need sub mm accuracy for my punches and kicks, I want occlusion free tracking that won't bug out if I'm sitting at my desk, my base stations also never work, I had 2 1.0s like 2 years ago that worked perfectly, top tier tracking, but they got damaged by flood water, then I bought another pair of 1.0s which broke after a few months, just recently I bought 2 2.0s expecting them to live up to the hype around them, they arrived kinda DOA but vice won't take them back, they just jitter a bit and while being more reliable than my quest inside out tracking in terms of loosing tracking algotgether, the jitter makes it actually impossible to shoot a gun in VR, hopefully base station 3.0s fix this, or even better I hope inside out tracking gets good enough to kill them entirely
Thanks for the info! I'll prop wait a bit after buying a new VR headset and PC parts
a deeper dive into slime: it is an open source project. you can make you own slime trackers, horatora is based off slime. my trackers used removable 18650 batteries that i can hot swap. and a 10 bay battery charger. if a set dies i can just swap them in a few min. if you want one single battery you can make it.
as far as drift, configure your firmware to use the magnetometers. as long as you dont have any large magnetic fields the drift should be a non issue, and i if it is a quick double tap will straighten you out.
there are several builders that use different imus for the tracking. the bmi1060 is the best bang for buck, and the do ok, but they dont have magnetometers so they will drift a bit.

@@iiraingirlii Theres a few things; 1 make sure you whole body is in frame, 2 you have to make sure you outfit is not too baggy and doesnt blend into teh background, 3 you need to set you hight to your real hight in viso, 4 connected to the same wifi as the device you use, and then just mess around with tracking and ik settings till it fits your liking
Haven't even heard about it! Since posting this a ton of people have joined the discord and shown off their lesser known full body solutions, crazy how many things I missed but I really wanted to cover the main FBT solutions. Will definitely take a look!
