Hey everyone! I have an updated hamster cage tour where you can see the new cage improvements :) Queso is happy and healthy! ua-cam.com/video/8cCrdLFkPYw/v-deo.html
Hello! I have an answer for your question. Ok, so I know you got a roborovski hamster, so that might be why. Robo’s are a little harder to tame then others, they tend to be more stubborn. You might also have a “Ghost Hamster” where basically, the hamster just likes to be alone, and be in their own little world. If you want more information, I would recommend watching Victoria Raechel’s “Ghost Hamster” video. They are really informative.
I love how people give comments and advices about hamster care! It's so helpful and necessary for the hamster's owner as well as others who loves hamster like me 🥰. It makes me feel so happy when people care about hamster and give them proper care!
i love how he kind of blends in with the bedding! he’s so cute and i just wanna hug him so badly!!! i hope he’s doing well right now…… *tell him i love him*
Also, a 40 gallon tank or bigger is the minimum size for any hamster. If you have the space I recommend getting a Ikea Detolf and turning it into a DIY cage.
I agree!! But the Ikea DETOLF is really thin and is really short. This causes them to have less burrowing space so going with the Ikea PAX could be better :)
@@unripe.strbwrii As a person who owns both an ikea detolf, a pax and a bin cage I can absolutely agree. My hybrid didn’t settle until she got a cage over 2 square meters. 🤗
He’s very cute! Would recommend adding more bedding for him to burrow. Also please have more accessories for him! Like more hides cuz robos like it’s over crowded
Hello if you don’t mind I’m just gonna give you some tips that you can do to improve your hamster a happy life! First I would recommend throwing out that food almost immediately even if it says that it’s mostly recommended it’s not good at all, it’s main ingredient is hay substituting all the other protein and nutrition that the hamster needs making it not good for the hamster :/ I recommend getting the food called Sunburst it’s the most recommended food for your animal! Make sure The package says hamsters because they do have Sunburst for rabbits also! I also recommend A sand bath, the hamster breed you have requires at least 1/4 of the enclosure to be sand, you can put some sand in a container and that works perfect, the container should at least be 6x5! The sand should not have calcium in it the most recommended sand is “repti sand” just make sure you read the package to make sure you’re not buying it with calcium!. I hope this helps! Also your hamster is so cute 😫
Thank you! I already got a different food anyways because he didn’t like it haha and thanks I actually was just looking at sand baths today thank you again for this!
Yes, completely correct. I myself owns two hamsters and I also give my hams foods that is the more expensive type, which means that I feed them the much more healthier type. I have been following this hamster channel which is very good at hamsters. She had given me very good info about hamsters, and I think that everyone should check it out.
@@abigailheagney2632 You can use plain unscented shredded toilet paper as a good alternative, or wood shavings but they must NOT BE PINE OR CEDAR you shop only get ASPEN shavings as the others can be extremely harmful. Hope this helped :)
Reading the comments I’m sure you’ve already updated a lot of stuff, but I will say that I recommend to feed the hamster Higgins sunburst with Mazuri rat and mouse food, it provided the proper nutrition and unfortunately oxbows hamster food just doesn’t!
I snuck home a hamster in 2018 when I was like 21 years old or something, but I was so happy. Currently I want to go get two robo hamsters from a family who's kids don't take care of them anymore, but my dad won't let me :(
Omg, he is adorable!❤️ Something that I noticed though, is the twenty gallon tank. A 20 gallon sadly is not big enough. When using tanks for hamsters you can not use anything smaller than a 40 gallon. If a 40 gallon is not something that you can/ want to get you can also go with bin cages the IKEA Samla bin is a great option. Another tip I have is to crowd the cage a little more. You could use cork logs, grapevinewood etc. Robotovskis also naturally come from a very sandy area and therefore they need a sand bath (all hamsters need sandbaths). Robos actually need 1 third of their cage to be sand. She is SOOO cute, and I hope she is still doing good.❤️
@Myah Papayah If the robos grew up together, they can be housed together. I currently have 5 robos in one massive enclosure. All the same sex so no breeding. There is no fighting ever, they all sleep in a pile together too. Robos and dwarfs are actually social and live in groups in the wild, unlike Syrians. Even male dwarf hamsters care for their offspring, unlike Syrians. In fact, if a person is the type to want multiple hams, Robos and other dwarf breeds (outside of Chinese Dwarfs, which are also social, but can also be territorial at times, so out of all the dwarf breeds, the Chinese ones are a little more difficult to house in groups) are the best choice as they're the easiest to socialize even with newer introductions when done properly. Robos thrive best in groups, rather than being solitary.
I'm so happy that you obviously did your research first and gave the hammy a large cage as many just go with the cute little critter trail ones that are far from suitable.
Completely agree, I did all my research for rats and there's so many people who get glass cages for them (rats) (clarify:rats have very fragile lungs, very prone to resptory issues so a glass cage is super bad for them)
Thank you! I know I should have said in the video I wasn’t done buying him toys and hideouts because everyone keeps telling me to get more but his cage was so full of stuff right after recording haha! 6+ inches of bedding too!!
You are doing so well as the wheel looks small so just make sure his back isn’t bending at all and they like to burrow so the more bedding the better you are gonna be a great hamster mom
Hi, so because youve gotten a dwarf hamster i would recommend that you fill the cage up a little more because robos get very scared in open spaces and filling the open spaces with hides and climbing toys and such can enrich your hamster much more which can be very enriching x And perhaps adding a little more bedding would be great too x apart from that congratulations on your new friend x :)
Hi! I also have a hamster and I recommend getting a little sauce dish for the water (they have some at the pet store) it also looks like a little food bowl for a hamster. Your hamster is very cute though! He ajusted right in! My hamster just instantly went in his house lol
Please be careful with the wooden stick fence you put up top I had one of those and my hamster got his foot stuck and tried to chew it off he had to go to the vet!!! Your hammy is very cute btw
I have3 robo hamsters and they often love to have a friend. Hamsters are very social creates so maybe in the near further you might wanna get a 2nd one. They love to snuggle each other and keep each other’s company. I also recommend yogurt bites and fresh fruits and veggies. Though don’t give them too many as hamsters are prone to diabetes. Make sure to take our any fresh veggies a few hours later so they don’t grow bacteria. I hope little buddy and you are happy!
I’m so glad you have made a good cage for your little hammy!! I would recommend taking out the little fence because it’s so easy for hamsters to break the legs by getting the caught ! Also you could add a sand bath (as hamsters can’t be bathed in water)and a really deep bit of bedding on one end of the cage maybe..
i suggest adding more bedding about up to 6 inches or more and more toys and stuff and also make sure to add something like moss to seal in the gaps of the woodstock thing because one of their limbs can get stuck in it easily!!
@Liberty Sellers thank you so much for telling me this, i actually have a giant bin in my closet so i will watch some videos on how to make it into a cage. you’re so kind and amazing !!
You might want to add more bedding, more toys, hides, and basically more entertainment. You definitely need to add a sand bath. Dwarfs and robos especially love them. A bigger wheel if you can. But great job with the big cage and the mini 2nd layer!
I know I’m kinda late but I think you did a great job on everything the betting the tank food toys I also recommend you give your hamster some vegetables and fruit I also have a robo so I know lots of things about them
Hello! I'm just here to give you a tip for your hamster! So I wanted to say that you should at least have 2-3 little hideouts for your super cute hamster!
It has been a year since you made this video but I have some suggestions to improve your hamster care. Firstly, I would change the food into a variety mix. Sunburst and Mazuri Lab Block works best imo. Another thing is to add more bedding. They need at least 6 inches to burrow. You also need to add a lot more enrichment to provide your hamster with natural activities that they would do in the wild. Scatter feeding half the food is recommended.
Great vid great cage size! I would recommend 6inches or more of bedding since you have a hamster! And you may want to get a bigger wheel! :) Overall nice setup!
I'm watching hamster content because I'm about to adopt a little hamster 🥺 and omg i bet he lived the greatest life. Also it is awesome that you listened to people's advice and even made a video on how you upgraded your hamster's care because sometimes it takes someone else more experienced than you to see something you can't. 😉
I saw people talking about bin cages, but i don't recommend them and here is why... my hamster chewed a huge hole in her cage, and we had to switch her to her old small cage... And I am so lucky she did not ingest the plastic that she chewed. That is why I do not use bins as cages.
Those two things is 1. That little fence has like wire of rope and it can hurt the hamster 2. Not really something wrong but you should get a water dish instead that way the hamster can drink more freely
Funny story, I just got my hamster today and like me and my sister were in welmart and I was looking at all the hamster toys and flip then I was thinking to myself about one day getting a hamster I wasn't thinking of getting one tonight but when me and my sister were getting food at taco bell I told my sister about it then after taco bell she drove over to Pet Smart and got me one O.O I was not expecting that! But Liturly it was the best move my sister made for me Heeeeeeeeeee soooooooo dang ADORABLE!!! His name is Leo he's so shy and playful! And tbh I felt like I was bless by an angel when I first saw him, and hope he can be a new friend for me to play and take care of, and hope you're having fun with yours ^_^
I see so many recommendations in the comments already.... Don't know if you would read this comment but I would recommend minimum 6 inches of bedding or 10 if the enclosure allows. And your hamster is so cute. 😍
okay this is better than a lot of people cages but first make the bedding at least 7 inches so he can burrow better. get some more cage decor so like moss, sand, coco soil, logs e.c. and a water bottle is fine but water bowls are better as its more sanitary. hope i helped!
you probably already upgraded your cage but you should get him a new weel when hes bigger, his back isnt supposed to bend while running in a weel so just take care of that! :)
i saw the improved cage, but i still think theres a lot of room for improvement. I think you should get a sand bath, a high varitey seed mix as all i see in that food are like donut shaped pellets, a bigger cage and more bedding. I think you should watch victoria rachael for more advice :-)
I know that food is what you picked but I have a hamster of my own and he is kinda picking but how I control it is, i feed him 1-2 a week with 2 table spoons one tablespoon I scatter around the tank the other I put in a bowl. I feed my hamster the Higgins sunburst hamster and gerbil food with some Missouri rat and mice and I put two of those in the bowl. Because I don’t like worms or spiders I don’t do this but you could also add in dead meal worm for some more protein and nutrients. I know it might seem good to do a one pallet diet, but it is actually better to do something that has seeds, nuts, dried peas, etc. again this is what works for me. Also I put a water bottle and bowl in the tank so he chooses what he would rather drink out of not me. Also your hamster is so cute and you are going to be an amazing mom! And I also recommend some millet sprays you can go on Etsy and search hamster sprays for a little treat here and there!
hi! idk if you will see this bc im late haha! hope your hammy is ok and healthy! I just watched your updated hamster cage and its great! just wanted to say that his little foot might get stuck in the white fence! if you want to start holding him, just baby steps! alsooo the food isnt that good, yes he cant be picky but i think you should look in to getting a seed mix!
Try putting as much bedding as possible like maybe 8inch as hamsters do like to burrrow. Try getting him a wheel 8'' to12'' for dwarf hamster. as long as he his body is straight while running is good enough.
Hi! I would really not recommend the oxbow food since it’s way to much hay for your hamster. To much hay in a hamsters diet is almost deadly since it can give them stomach issues! I’m not trying to send hate! Just giving tips! I would recommend mazuri rat feed mixed with sunburst food!
Hey everyone! I have an updated hamster cage tour where you can see the new cage improvements :) Queso is happy and healthy! ua-cam.com/video/8cCrdLFkPYw/v-deo.html

I see so many recommendations in the comments already.... Don't know if you would read this comment but I would recommend minimum 6 inches of bedding or 10 if the enclosure allows. And your hamster is so cute. 😍
Omg our hamsters are litterly identical!!! ❤❤❤
"omg I'm speeding and a sheriff is right there"
Sheriff watching the video: 👁👄👁
Fun fact about hammsters, they sleep during the day and at night they spin on there wheel
You can also get some smooth sand for him to clean himself!
Did anyone notice how perfect her teeth are!
Omg you’re so sweet! My friends say I have American girl doll teeth :/ lol
@@AshleysAesthetic I do not think that! I want teeth like yours
omg great hamster care! fot your first hamster!hes so cute!
okay this is better than a lot of people cages but first make the bedding at least 7 inches so he can burrow better. get some more cage decor so like moss, sand, coco soil, logs e.c. and a water bottle is fine but water bowls are better as its more sanitary. hope i helped!
also i forgot to mention you will need a much bigger wheel. i would say no smaller than 8 inches
Hey! I love him he is very cute but I would recommend 6 inch bedding, because in the bedding that you have he can not burrow in
you probably already upgraded your cage but you should get him a new weel when hes bigger, his back isnt supposed to bend while running in a weel so just take care of that! :)
It was no sportive 🤣🤣 Is so cute i love your reaction
Omgg!! I have the exact same hamster!!! Nugget looks so much like queso!! ❤❤❤❤
i saw the improved cage, but i still think theres a lot of room for improvement.
Yup I got him a different food! Thanks
@@AshleysAesthetic ofc
hi! idk if you will see this bc im late haha! hope your hammy is ok and healthy! I just watched your updated hamster cage and its great! just wanted to say that his little foot might get stuck in the white fence! if you want to start holding him,
just baby steps! alsooo the food isnt that good, yes he cant be picky but i think you should look in to getting a seed mix!
Thank you for such sweet advice! I do already have a better food :) and when it runs out I’m getting sunburst!
That’s great :)
