@@ilovebasil__ yes, you are right, it should be common sense, but just look at the hashtag hamster on Instagram and you'll see how many hamsters live in shitty cages an conditions
my parents said that if I show that I am responsible enough by keeping my room clean until we move or build our house (6-48months) then i will get a bunny. So Im using all this time to do my research. Its really the least people could do to provide a good home for their pet
Hey :) I hope you're okay with me just giving some tips/advice on your hamster care even though you are already to a much better start than most people 🥰 #1 Cage I am SO glad you got him a large enough cage! But since the cage is so big, you could fit so many more cool things! Hamsters benefit from loads of different hides and a sand bath which would probably make your hammy even happier than he already is in his massive tank. #2 Bedding The type of bedding you have is a great choice and is regarded as one of the best hamster beddings out there so that's good. Now just add MORE lol. Hamsters are burrowers and they dig 3 feet into the ground in the wild. I would say put 8-12 inches in one end and then slope the bedding down on the other end so you can fit taller things that don't touch the top of the tank. And more is ALWAYS better :) #3 Wheel Your hammy (SUPER adorable by the way) looks a lot like a Campbells/Winter White dwarf hamster and both these species of hamster need 8 inch wheels so their backs don't bend unhealthily. A 6.5 isn't the worst, but I would still recommend upgrading just for the sake of his back. #4 Diet The mix you got "Higgins Sunburst Hamster and Gerbil" is a really great mix for variety, but sadly no sole commercially available mix will do the job so it is highly advised to mix one bag of Higgins Sunburst with one bag of Mazuri Rat and Mouse pellets. This is because Higgins has loads of great variety for your hamster, but it has 15% protein which is on the lower side for hamsters, who are advised to have approx. 18%. Mazuri acts as a protein booster and adds that little boost of protein making both of those mixed together, a great diet for your hammy. Hey great video but there are a few tips i would like to give you. Firstly, the wheel that you bought does look like a six and half inch, but i cant really tell. Anyway it looks a little bit to small for him i would consider getting a larger wheel as when the wheel is too small it can bend you hamsters back and cause back problems. Also as you have such a large enclosure, you can add a lot more toys to make your hammy feel more safe when he comes out of his sleeping area. You could also add a sand bath to the cage as well. I would also consider getting a different food brand as the one your using doesn't contain enough nutrition. Moreover you could also add a LOT more bedding so that you can give your hammy the option to burrow a lot more. If you want more in depth explaining about all of this go to Victoria Rachel's channel on UA-cam or Erin's Animals. Apart from all that your hamster care is quite good comparing to a lot of other people. I hope you take this comment in a positive way.

wow. i just came here from someone's video that made me so upset because they walked into petco not knowing anything about hamsters and walked back out... still not knowing anything. this makes me so happy that you did your research and now your new little friend can enjoy his new, nice and healthy life! :)
it's probably the first time I've seen a person buying or adopting a hamster and buying a cage that's big enough plus everything they need. really compliments💞💞🇮🇹
You got an amazing ginormous tank so don’t be afraid to give them more bedding. The more the better because hamsters love burrowing and it makes them feel safe sometimes too. 💕
Hey you did amazing! I recommend scatter feeding it will allow him to be busy and less bored. More hideouts so he has more places to hide! Maybe get like a tunnels
Aw he is so sweet!! Your happiness is infectious and I can tell you're going to give him a great life😊 I know you want more things in his enclosure so I thought I'd just say that you can always make hides/toys out of popsicle sticks and elmer's glue, they're a cheap alternative, safe and pretty fun to do too haha
i love that you done your research! i would also like to add that you should add a shallow dish of water as well as a bottle, because bottles can jam and the hamster might not get enough water.
Hi,I was just like to give you a good resource to get information. So I would recommend watching a few of Victoria Rachel’s videos. By the way your hamster is adorable.

I love the bit where she said ' THE ANTS STILL ALIVE!?!? ' I'm laughing so much! I think my mum might be getting me a hamster!! Edit - thank you for the heart Kayla! Idrk about getting a hamster anymore, i need a dog proof cage :D
love the vid and love how u did research but u forgot the sandbath so they can take a bath there but they also use it as a litterbox! it's important especially for dwarf hamsters! I'd also suggest more bedding on the other side :) But otherwise, keep it up!
I think you deserve more subscribers. You have such a positive attitude and I love it. Also thanks for being one of the few people on youtube that arnt a hamster channel and is actually taking care of them correctly. 😬😁
I'm sure Guppy will be happy in his new home, hamsters are adorable creatures. I'm going to get either an Owl or an Octopus for my next pet, I'm finding it difficult to decide. Which one would you chose?
With 3 heart, 9 brains, and chromatophores for camouflage the Octopus is definitely one of the coolest creatures on Earth. I think I will get A Mimic Octopus, I would go with A Bule Ringed but their neurotoxin is pretty nasty. Octopus are also easier to keep track of, it's not going to fly away.
Your setup is awesome, but if you wanted to add more my dwarf hamsters LOVE sand baths. I would look up what is considered a good size for a sand bath, like you did with the rest of his setup. Great job 👌 :)
I Am So Glad You Did Research! 30% Of People Do Research Before Getting A Pet. If You Do Need More Information I Recommend Watching Victoria Raechel For Hamster Tips! And Maybe More Bedding? They Can Borrow In That But More Would Give Them More Access To Deeper Tunnels!
I’m glad you did your research you would’ve killed that hamster in two days if you didn’t I have a hamster and I watched Victoria Reachelle two months until I got my hamster
yay thank you for doing ur research!!! Love how big and the amount of bedding That’s in the cage. Only thing I would say is clutter the cage up more because it looks a little empty example: sand box, drift wood, sprays, hay( for better burrows)
Just tell her this: They’re pretty inexpensive compared to other animals. You can simply put them in a long container with lots of bedding. Make sure you do research!
I’m not hating or anything just to let you know! 😊 Everything about your hamster’s life is AMAZING! The huge tank/“cage”, the bedding, and all of the toys that you provided with your hamster are great! The one and only thing I’m concerned about is the food. Hamsters can’t have any seeds, colored food, or anything that even looks like that in that matter. I really recommend Kaytee or Oxbow. I own a lot of guinea pigs but I have 2 hamsters that I’m still progressing with. I’m also kind of a beginner myself so I just wanted to provide you with some research I did! It’s really good that you did your research and got everything your hamster wants AND needs! Keep it up! 😁
I’m soo glad you did your research! It is so frustrating when people don’t! I can recommend one thing, I see you have a very tall tank and you could really take advantage of this by adding more bedding, because hamsters can burrow up to 3 feet in the wild! Just a recommendation. Love your tank by the way! 😁 You may have already watched her but I recommend Victoria Rachel on UA-cam! She has some really great hamster videos!
I'm so happy that's someone has done research before getting hamster. The only thing I would say is to get a 8 inch week as that week is to small so could eventually break your hamsters back. You are doing really well so far and your hamster is so cute. If this is offensive I am sorry I was just trying to help xx
not offensive at all :)) his back doesn’t bend and that is why i haven’t upgraded it but if anything changes i will definitely be getting a bigger wheel :)
You hamster is sooo cute! I love your setup for the cage but I would suggest adding a sand bath for him and maybe adding a few or just another hide for him so he can feel more secure!シ
For a start I think it’s pretty good! In the future definitely expand the enrichment, like a sand bath, include different types of hides. I love seeing a queen doing animals justice
Hello great cage!! I just suggest adding more hideouts and tunnels because hamsters love crowded spots. And I also suggest adding more bedding and tunnels like in the bottom and they need a sand bath at least once a week
The enclosure is a good size but hamsters do burrow and like their enclosures to be semi-crowded. You should also add a sand box so they can bath in it! Another thing is that you should scatter-feed them by scattering food around the enclosure. The wheel also needs to be upgraded to at least a 10 inch wheel! Have a good day/summer.
A little suggestion is that u could add his old bedding into his peanut house to feel comfortable. You did really great I'm glad you did your research I wish I had a hammy!
I looove seeing people doing research before getting a pet! Especially because hamsters are pets that are so often misunderstood. Be proud! 🐹❤

wow. i just came here from someone's video that made me so upset because they walked into petco not knowing anything about hamsters and walked back out... still not knowing anything. this makes me so happy that you did your research and now your new little friend can enjoy his new, nice and healthy life! :)
I've been researching them for two years now but I still don't have a hamster. 😐
Peaches LOL 😂😂
omg the peanut hide is adorable
it's probably the first time I've seen a person buying or adopting a hamster and buying a cage that's big enough plus everything they need. really compliments💞💞🇮🇹
Maybe get like a tunnels
okay thank you so much, i really like the scatter feeding idea and ill already got him more toys, i just couldn’t before cause my budget :)
Me: crying this whole entire video cause I want a hamster and my dad said no
Kayla: happy this whole video
I have 2 guniea pigs, ny dad said no more animals but I said I would pay for them and he ch aged his mind
same
😂
Lol. I have too many pets...
@@yoohyeonforever7067 i have two guinea pigs too! im adopting a dog from korea soon. ☺️
where did you get your tank from??
ACTUALLY SO CUTE
Now I want one 😔
i highly recommend ;)
Make sure to do research first 👍
I got a hammy no regrets but reasearch tho
I'm happy that someone finally did research. Knowing that she just got the hamster 🐹 she's a really great good owner so pat you self on the back 😁
Amazing Kayla! The hamster is gonna have an amazing home. Just a tip: put toilet paper in his house so that he can make it comfy for him in it💗
Awh i love you ❤️bless your cotton socks .Have fun xx
just a suggestion since you wanna fill up his cage, I suggest giving him a sand bath so he can clean himself! Chinchilla sand or kids sand is fine
Just not chinchilla dust tho you forgot to mention
@@person2248 I suggested them. Not telling which ones you shouldn’t use
@@victoriaandrea9104 I know, I didn't mean it as rude, just in case she sees it and gets dust. Sorry if I offended you or annoyed you in any way!
@@person2248 it’s fine i agree with yku
i love the setup!! i can clearly tell u did ur research. one thing i recommend is a sand bath
LOVE HAMSTERS AND PROPER CARE FOR THEM!! NEW SUB!!!!
Btw: It’s a girl OwO
But it’s okie
Playing with my hammie Ggible right now OwO
AW youre the sweetest! howd you know ab the gender im so curious:)
@@kaylaepark thank you so much! You can tell if it’s a girl or boy because boys have a very distinct bottom ûwû
@@kaylaepark you can also check if it has balls 😀

@@Colbyw74 I WILL ALWAYS SAY OWO
Aw he is so sweet!! Your happiness is infectious and I can tell you're going to give him a great life😊
I know you want more things in his enclosure so I thought I'd just say that you can always make hides/toys out of popsicle sticks and elmer's glue, they're a cheap alternative, safe and pretty fun to do too haha
aww thank you so much for your suggestions :) i really appreciate it 🥺❤️
He’s so cute 💕
i love that you done your research!
i would also like to add that you should add a shallow dish of water as well as a bottle, because bottles can jam and the hamster might not get enough water.
Hi,I was just like to give you a good resource to get information. So I would recommend watching a few of Victoria Rachel’s videos. By the way your hamster is adorable.
Omg your hamster is sooo cute ❤️😇 your so underrated! plus your camera quality is so awesome ❤️ i love your channel!! keep up 👏🏻👏🏻
omg you are too sweet thank youuu 🥺❤️
@@kaylaepark omg your welcome 😭❤️❤️❤️ your my favorite youtuber 💕 ahhhh
AW i love you omg you are amazing 🥺❤️
You forgot to get a sand bath.
hamsters ate fine w out sandbaths its how you care for them, cage size, and lots of things to keep them entertained
So cute! You are a great owner, compared to most UA-camrs!
I love your hamster and I also love that you did your research 🤗🥰
This is amazing. You are giving your hammie everything it deserves. Thank you I love seeing good hamster care. It makes me so happy.
I really wanna know what people vlog with? Like is it a phone or a camera... I’m going to try starting my own channel
I film with a camera but just starting off a phone should be fine! i’ve seen a ton of youtubers say they started off with a phone and it worked just fine for them :) i bought a camera so that i could take photos as well as film :D
I’m so happy u actually did a research and got all the good necessary stuff
you-are STUNNING! omg you are so pretty!!! XD I'm also so happy you did your research as well !BTW I ordered the exact same green bowl, and it was a little dusty and it had a stain in it soooo yeah that sucks but I just washed it out :)
OMG this made me so happy thank you so so much 🥺❤️ and ngl mine was a lil dirty too but nothing some soap and water couldn’t fix :)
One question, how often you have to change the wooden crumbs like the one you made base of???
Love to see responsible owners 😊💗
I love that you did proper research!!! there's only one thing I recommend getting more toys and chews also a bigger wheel around 8 inches
We Stan her for doing research before getting her hamster :) 🐹
Omg were did u get that cage! Sorry if I’m being rude I just wanna know bc I want to get a bigger cage for my hamster x
Used tanks like that are super cheap second-hand! Try looking on fb marketplace for one 😊
or buy one new if you have a lot of money to spare lol, used ones often look brand new if you clean them though (:
I love the bit where she said ' THE ANTS STILL ALIVE!?!? ' I'm laughing so much! I think my mum might be getting me a hamster!!
Edit - thank you for the heart Kayla! Idrk about getting a hamster anymore, i need a dog proof cage :D
love the vid and love how u did research but u forgot the sandbath so they can take a bath there but they also use it as a litterbox! it's important especially for dwarf hamsters! I'd also suggest more bedding on the other side :) But otherwise, keep it up!
Another thing that Guppy would like is a sand bathe.
Can I please ask where you buyed the tank I’m looking for one!
petco!
I recommend adding a little bit more bedding but other wise great cage
I think you deserve more subscribers. You have such a positive attitude and I love it. Also thanks for being one of the few people on youtube that arnt a hamster channel and is actually taking care of them correctly. 😬😁
AW thank you so much that means the world 🥺❤️
@@kaylaepark Your welcome! 💕
I just found your channel and I love you already!! 🤍
OMG this was one of the sweetest comments i’ve gotten 🥺thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Yay! 🥳
Well done for doing research, it’s great to see you care about your little furry friend 🐹
I'm sure Guppy will be happy in his new home, hamsters are adorable creatures.
I'm going to get either an Owl or an Octopus for my next pet, I'm finding it difficult to decide.
Which one would you chose?
hmmm theyre both really good choices, but I would go with an octopus just because its so cool hahaha
I’m definitely going to subscribe your hamster is so nice
Thanks so much for getting a good sized cage!
Edit: tHANkS SO MUCH FOR THE HEART!
Second edit: oh no when I edited it the heart went away 😢
@Amali Hazell no I’m sorry, but u can make very good and big bin cages for super cheap
@@jewelvibes6765 woah their user was amali hazell? Mine used to be Amari Hazelle that’s kinda funny lol
Not only did you do correct research. BUT THE GUNS N' ROSES TSHIRT!? SUBSCRIBEDDDDDD
“My hairs a mess right now”
No one:
Me: *then brush it-*
Make sure it include sand baths!! It’s very important!! I’m glad u added enough bedding
Ugh I want a hamster so bad but my mom won’t let me get one☹️
Just tell her this:
They’re pretty inexpensive compared to other animals. You can simply put them in a long container with lots of bedding. Make sure you do research!
@@kalayah1890 thanks but I finally got one!!!!

Omg I was so scared when I saw this vid but you actually did research! That makes me so happy Guppy will have a great life thanks to you!
this is great care! one thing I reccomend for you is spending around flax and herbs they love it because that's what they do in the wild!
okay thank you so much for the advice! :)
@@kaylaepark np! your doing amazing I love people who actually take peoples feedback
Where did you get the cage?!?!? I wanna get this for my room :
i got mine from petco :)) www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/aqueon-standard-glass-aquarium-tank-55-gallon-5051128-1
I think you meant wheel?
@@puglover6113 yea
not offensive at all :)) his back doesn’t bend and that is why i haven’t upgraded it but if anything changes i will definitely be getting a bigger wheel :)
Guppy is soooo cute! I love this video so much, new subscriber
You hamster is sooo cute! I love your setup for the cage but I would suggest adding a sand bath for him and maybe adding a few or just another hide for him so he can feel more secure!シ
the hamster is so cute! the cage is amazing but i would suggest putting some more bedding so that it can burrow more!!
Yayyyy! 😁 You did research! I would replace the water bottle with a dish!
I MEAN TO CLEAN THE SAND BATH AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK
The enclosure is a good size but hamsters do burrow and like their enclosures to be semi-crowded. You should also add a sand box so they can bath in it! Another thing is that you should scatter-feed them by scattering food around the enclosure. The wheel also needs to be upgraded to at least a 10 inch wheel! Have a good day/summer.
Girl i legit respect you for doing research first that's most important before buying a pet. I got 2 hamsters🖤 in separate cages of course.
A little suggestion is that u could add his old bedding into his peanut house to feel comfortable. You did really great I'm glad you did your research I wish I had a hammy!
Omg yay someone who can finally properly care for their hamster
I LOVE seeing amazing care 🥺
So happy that you did your research and are taking care of your little guy!
