K, as a tip real quick, keep your stitches kinda tight and go at least 4 rounds. You can crochet them together but from my experience, sewing the squares together works better for a clean look and feel. Do a row of single crochets along the edge first before starting on the edge, it'll be easier. Good luck, hope you have fun!

IF you cut the slip, try giving it a slit first and try that. Front and backside, down the middle. 💕

Hair tie in the back and folding it in usually works for a temporary solution to the shirt not being tight enough

Idk if this will be helpful, but you can try blocking it(if you know what that is then just ignore my comment), to fix the length just a tiny bit and make it look neater if you want. It'll straighten out the stitching, and make everything be the full length, since crochet works curl up a bit. There's plenty of tutorials about it! Also, I love it! ❤ For this being just one of the few projects you've done, you did fantastic. Even if you end up not wearing it, it was good practice to get more comfortable
