"For an old fart" indeed. Mate, you can outrun most under your age group. Another sweet solid workout, hopefully injury management will be key here pal 👍 👌
Thanks matey. I do enjoy track running but it can be harsh on the legs. But yes managing this niggle is key now and the Achilles has been better since this 400M workout - weird!
Definitely buddy👍. My odd logic says if I can do that 400M session (I didn’t really hold back) with no Achilles pain I can hang in for a few more weeks 🤓.
Having been off for nearly a year with an Achilles injury, I feel your pain. For me after not heading the body and continuing to work around it , it finally gave way at a European qualifier and meant I missed out on over a years worth of racing, so the remedy was no running, which isn’t easy to do, but I had no option and then slowly focusing on recovery and then strength as you have shown in your previous video. Can’t stress enough about the importance of rest though, your body gets stronger and repairs, as we all know when resting. Otherwise it will end up getting worse and in my case a proper long road back. Would hate this to happen to you as you’re at such a fab level now.
@@SwimBikeRunStu it’s good to have targets and goals. Whether we hit them is a different matter! But I’m tickling that 18 min barrier this year 🤭. Actually been under it in the Alsager 5 mile race but that doesn’t count does it🥴
