I have some first impressions.... 1. If you are considering this Walmart has the best pricing. I ordered yesterday and received it this morning. 2. I am coming from a Hoover Power Scrub Elite. 3. First impressions - I like how much water and solution this puts into the rug but on the flip side you have to refill often. Keep a gallon of solution because you will go through it quickly. Very strong suction. Very easy to clean after complete. I have dogs and there is alot of hair in my carpet and I was able to clean it out quickly and easily . Long cord so I don't have to keep unplugging and switching outlets. It is heavier then my previous unit so lugging it to the second floor is a chore. I've already done 2 rooms and I am very happy with what I am seeing so far.
Happy to hear! I did find you did not need as much solution as other carpet cleaners because the steam does loosen some stains on its on. But for stubborn stains, I completely agree with you. You want to have the solution nearby

@josephreberry7599 using both, gotta say this will manage stains better. But... big green is a bit easier for larger jobs, especially if it's rooms without many obstacles. This is the best it gets for a homeowner, in my opinion.

Anyone who shops at Walmart has no conscience whatsoever.
Thanks for showing the tests in full with multiple different stains with a comparison against the 2x proheat revolution. I like this format showing how it works.
I wish they would focus on improving the suction for water extraction. Leaves carpets too wet when using the deep clean modes and even after making multiple slow passes it never gets enough water out and I know that can’t be good for your carpet. Forced to use carpet fans just to speed up the drying process…
I’ve had this vacuum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was cleaning it today and thinking about how much I love no bags to buy and that it comes apart for easy clean up. When I first purchased it we had two dogs and a cat and it kept up well. The suction was great then and still is now. I’m always amazed at the amount of hair it picks up, it works better than any other vacuum I’ve had for pet hair. The attachments are handy and work well. It’s easy to use with arthritic hands. I just had to come write a review because I’m still so pleased with this purchase.
This carpet cleaner seems to be the best carpet cleaner yet, I have always wondered why they never made a carpet cleaner that would produce steam as it's excellent at breaking up stains.
I 100% agree. You can really see the difference after you clean and the carpet dries for heavy duty stains like coffee or wine. No discoloration vs other machines.
My mother in law bought this for her new house which is mostly carpet. I have the 2X Revolution Pet Pro and while the Hydrosteam is nice I don’t see much of a difference compared to the 2X Pet Pro. Still a very good carpet cleaner and if you have the money it’ll be the best carpet cleaner you can get.
Thanks for sharing. I completely agree with you that if you have the 2x pet pro revolution, it's not worth the upgrade but the performance is marginally better with the hydrosteam especially on tough stains.

You gotta do it really slow and like wayyyyy more than you think like 30-50 passes lmao 😂 but it does work and it’s AMAZING. I soaked my daughter carpet because the stains were 4 years old. Completely gone. I went back in dry mode 3 times passing it all 10-15 times each section
This was very good and gave me the information i needed to make a buying decision. 👍One very very small point - at 6:50 , it sounds like the wine is referred to as sauvignon blanc which is not a red wine. 🤭
Hi! I pretreat the area using steam then I would go very slowly on steam max mode using hot water (not boiling) for any difficult stains. Then use warm water to rinse the area. But using hot water + steam max is usually very powerful on its own.

Applying those stains @ 4:20 wearing those trainers. Bold, very bold. I’ve actually get a genuine question. When the unit is in its resting upright position, does the brush roller rise slightly to reduce wear? A CRB has a resting plate so it’s bristles are not subjected to floor to reduce damaging it.
Hi, thank you for your demonstration and information. Good work. After watching some of your videos about carpet cleaners, we still can't make decision which machine to buy. Would you please suggest which carpet cleaner or steamer we can use to clean WOOL carpets safely (without damaging it)?
Thank for review. What about accessories: does they work with steam? Hose just spray solution as before or can do steam as well ? How is suction power - is lower/higher or same as proheat model ?
Hi! Thanks for the question. The accessories work exactly like on the 2x proheat revolution. The liquid connection and suction ports are the same on both units except the revolution hydrosteam now comes with an updated cover that's easier to open. Whatever the temp of the water was that you added will be the temp of water. You have to trigger the steam on the handle when on floor cleaning mode and that is not available in hose/hand tool mode. Regarding suction power on the hand tools (2 in 1 or 3",6") I did not notice any difference with the proheat except I think the revolution hydrosteam has the same suction power as the "turbocharged" motor in the 2023 2x proheat.
I used to have an older let revolution like 10 years ago and I didn't like it at all. It just wasn't a good machine for me. So I replaced it with a Rug Doctor. I don't remember what the model is but about 5 years ago it was the highest model without going commercial. It cleans great but it's bulky, loud, heavy and there's no way to clean out the brush cover and some of the internals without completely taking it apart. With 2 pets my vacuum doesn't ever get all the hair, even though it's a very highly rated one. Some of it just gets trapped down in. The hair and fuzz and stuff ends up clogging the scrubber. Such a pain. I was looking into a steam cleaner to keep up with my kids and pets messes and found this one and so far everyone has nothing but praise for it. Seems like it covers all my issues with the Rug doctor and seems to clean just as well while adding the steam function I was looking for. I think I'll be buying a new scrubber here soon. Thanks for the video.

I purchased this particular unit because of this video fantastic review. I just have one question though there is two metal brackets on the bottom of the unit. How do you remove them? They seem to be over the top of the rollers. Do they need to be removed before using, your other video doesn’t show the metal bracket so I’m assuming yes can you please help?
Just recently purchased because of puppy stains on our carpet. Trying the first time, it did clean it pretty well but didn’t completely remove the urine stain. Any suggestions or is it just need to run in multiple times?
Does the revolution hydrosteam go through a lot more solution and water than the bissell pet pro? Or similar? The main downside I see with the hydrosteam is that there isn’t a middle range setting for the amount of solution being used (just max clean or quick clean) unlike bissell pet pro that has a moderate option as well as deep clean and express options.
Hi. The brushroll on the revolution are connected on both sides via belts. I just pop the cover off and clean it with a old toothbrush then use a paper towel to remove any hair or debris that is caught where the steam jets are. I've used mine extensively and it's been easy to keep clean.
Hi! I swear bissell is saving the retractable cords feature on the revolutions. The revolution cannot be used on hardwood. Bissell has the crosswave hydrosteam instead for hardwoods.
I wish I had another bigger closet to put all his. If we leave out, I wish some one would come up with a cover up, but please no more of the Granny ones. A Droid version would be nice though.
Hi! The heat wave is actually the heat from the motor blowing up into the clean water tank. You have to use hot water when you fill the tank and the heat wave keeps it hot. If you use cold water, you would have to leave the motor on for a long time to get it warmer. The hydrosteam heats the water up on its own (think a electric tea kettle) to produce the steam.
I bought the revolution hydrosteam and I love it. Frist time I was able to shampoo my carpet and have it dried in about 45mins. However I can't seem to figure out how to clean the brushes. Do they detach? A lot of dust and dirt is stuck there
Does it remove enough excess water that there isn't a chance of mold? I had my carpets professionally cleaned before and it took almost 2 days for it to dry and required using fans. Also, since I've never owned a steamer. Are you required to use proprietary solutions?
@@TheFrenchGlow if I’m making a big upgrade (from a small $100 BISSELL cleaner) is the hydro steam more worth it? I see it’s only $40 more right now and slightly more aesthetically pleasing to look at lol.
With all carpet cleaners I've used, coffee is usually one that won't come out ever. Red stains as well. Id be interested to see what this could do for those stains in my house.
Hi! The hydrosteam is very good for those stains but for deep stains, you might have to run it twice. First run on deep, extract as much as possible, let it dry and then run it again.
I had the 2x Revolution. It just broke after a little more than 2 years. It removed any coffee stains perfectly. The built quality could be better though.
HY Peroxide diluted with dawn works the best as a pre treatment for pet urine, coffee and wine, allow to sit and take a white towel and allow it to be absorbed in a towel, this way of removing a spot leaves residue and pushed the stain down farther into the carpet, these machines are only good for a light cleaning, i have been cleaning rugs for over 30 years
When using the hose, do the brush rollers shut off? That was one of my biggest complaints with my Revolution. Can’t shut the rollers off when using the hose.
@@TheFrenchGlow Appreciate the reply! I have a dedicated sheet pan I put under it when using the hose so it doesn’t tear into my carpet running and running on a single spot. Would have been great if they had included some kind of switch.
Hi! If you do not press the trigger, the hydrosteam will extract water and not add any. If you like a carpet cleaner that extracts when it goes back, the hoover smartwash carpet cleaner is configured to remove water whenever you pull back on the unit.
According to the Carpet and Rug Institute Hoover carpet washers and Rug Doctor machines out clean any Bissell machines and they have documented deep clean ability and have a rating by them that something no Bissell machine including the revolution does not have.
@@TheFrenchGlow the Carpet and Rug Institute also test residential machines from Hoover and Rug Doctor currently on the list there are no Bissell carpet cleaners that earns a rating from the institute.
I have an older carpet cleaner that I haven’t loved using and hardly ever pull it out of the closet. Where does everyone go to get rid of the unwanted carpet cleaners?
Yes (I have a cat) but your main limitation for odor and cat urea (more concentrated than urine) will be refilling/empty the tanks. Go slow, don't be cheap with the cleaning solution and if any deep stains in high pile carpets, you can always scrub the area using a brush yourself once the steam breaks up the stain.
Hi! Use a small thin stick on the bottom of the handle. There should be a small hole where you can press the lock button to release the handle. You do not need to press hard but it does require some force. Don't try to force the wand out and just shimmy it up and out.
what i noticed is that because the carpet sample is over hardwood all the water get sucked out. this is not the case for carpet inside the home. less water extraction.
Hi I compared other wet dry vacs to the hydro steam after the fact and having used it repeatedly on my carpeted floors. Having less extraction could be due to the type of carpet and if the subflooring/carpet padding is old or squishy. If you saturate the carpet too much to the point of saturating the material underneath, I like to take a dry towel, place it on top and step down repeatedly.
I'm in the market to buy one. Would you recommend this one over the proheat? I have dogs and clean our carpets quite often. Is it worth the extra money?
Hi! It depends on your home. If you don't have a lot of space, want lighter device with better suction, the shark. But if you want to shampoo a really dirty carpet or rug, the hydrosteam will clean it better and remove odors.
I have a loop 9 x 12 rug and it does not damage or pull out the fibers but check the material (nylon and polyester more suspestable to damage from high heat) and test it as the steam is much hotter than proheat. I would not recommend the crosswave hydrosteam for any type of carpet. It's really only for hard floors.
Hi! A little green pet pro will be better at extracting than the revolution will. If you have a heavy stain on sofa cushions, any revolution model would require more passes/more effort with the little green pet pro and longer dying times. My personal favorite is the bissell hydrosteam spot cleaner. Bissell upgraded most of the things on little green and added steam with improved suction. It's about $20 more than the little green pet pro on sale and worth it. I have a comparison video explaining all the spot cleaners that helps explain the differences between models. ua-cam.com/video/TmU98EvoO0k/v-deo.html
@@TheFrenchGlow thanks! It wouldn’t necessarily be as much for heavy stains as general cleaning. We have a white couch and 5 pets + baby. House is full of carpet. Not sure if I should just invest in the revolution and have to take more passes on the couch or if a good vacuum + spot cleaner is enough to do the trick more regularly
Hello! does the HydroSteam have height adjustment, would like to use on barefloor as well? In front of the rollers how close will it clean against a wall? Thank you.
Hi! Sadly no high adjustment and for edges, you will have to do them manually as the steamer parts are the entire front of the unit. The Tineco s5 steam does not have these issues though. Check out my review here ua-cam.com/video/2nXQSVRc9zs/v-deo.html
Hi! I haven't but you could probably use it on the express setting for hard floor If you are ok with the stiffer brushroll spinning on your hard floors. It is different from the crosswave hydrosteam which is meant for hard floors.
After the handle is locked in its hard to remove the handle. I had remove the clean water tank, remove the 4 screws and then push in the black lever. I accidentally put the handle on before putting on the frame for the clean water tank and once you do that the handle can't go on with the frame for the clean water tank. At least mine was not going on
hi! The revolution Hydrosteam is only for carpets so if you are mostly tile, you will want a wet dry mop (corded or cordless) like a Bissell Crosswave or a Tineco S5 St5eam. You could possibly use the Tineco S5 Steam for the dual floors but wet dry mops are really for hard floors and only a few are usuable (not great) for rugs or carpets.
Hi! For the revolution hydrosteam, it is strictly for carpet but there is a bissell crosswave revolution for tiles and hardwood. You can also consider the Tineco s5 steam as well. The main issue is carpet cleaners come with aggressive brushes that might damage hard floors if it's used too much.
While Hydrosteam looks to be an excellent carpet cleaner - more than a shampooer - your testing is flawed is so many ways, that there was only one real situation you cleaned the carpet; a wet stain spread around a bit. It was never demonstrated on a stain that had been set by time or temperature. Any carpet shampooer can clean a wet stain out of a carpet if you have enough chemical to soak it with. When the Proheat 2X was demonstrated I assume the staining materials were applied to the carpet that had already been cleaned and left damp from the Hydrosteam. It would be great to see a follow up where you apply the same stain and leave it in the sun for about a week and then try and clean it.
I will not purchase residential carpet machines they only last six months I've been through five of them Rug Doctor last 3 years big green I just purchased I don't know yet
@@mattie9419 I've had my Big Green for over 5 years, and the only part I replaced is the rotating float valve, that shows you the water being put down. A 12 dollar part and YT helped there for instruction.
Hi! That’s my wood floor so I would never risk damaging them for a carpet test. But if you hold the trigger too long, any carpet will get over saturated very quickly
The 2 in 1 upholstery tool is worthless. Tried it on my curtains. All it did was make them wet. Hardly any suction at all even with an empty dirty water container . My regular vacuum had 10x more suction than that.
Hi, for curtains, you have to lay it down on the floor and make sure they are completely flat. I imagine you would have to clamp it down. It's really for sofas and upholstered furniture. Anything free flowing like a curtain, the suction power of the tool wouldn't be able to pull the solution out. Even the bissell spotclean pro which is designed only for spot cleaning would have a hard time with curtains. There is also no steam when you use it as an upholstery tool.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO knows that good vacuuming is done slow! love it!

My question. How many have the steamer version. I’ve had multiple Bissell cleaners and love them. So I’m curious? Does it work this well?
Perfect presentation
I just assembled mine. Only a few mins 👍
The only thing I wish it had was a retractable cord.
Can these be used on hardwood floors too?
Hi! I swear bissell is saving the retractable cords feature on the revolutions. The revolution cannot be used on hardwood. Bissell has the crosswave hydrosteam instead for hardwoods.
What is the warranty?
Best review I’ve seen that was helpful!👍
Glad it was helpful!
I wish I had another bigger closet to put all his. If we leave out, I wish some one would come up with a cover up, but please no more of the Granny ones. A Droid version would be nice though.
Does the hydrosteam also have the heat wave technology?
A lot of dust and dirt is stuck there
Bissell has a Rinse and Storage tray that helps with that.
Does it remove enough excess water that there isn't a chance of mold? I had my carpets professionally cleaned before and it took almost 2 days for it to dry and required using fans. Also, since I've never owned a steamer. Are you required to use proprietary solutions?
Great review! Thank you for the comparison to the 2x pro heat
Thank you for watching! :)
@@TheFrenchGlow if I’m making a big upgrade (from a small $100 BISSELL cleaner) is the hydro steam more worth it? I see it’s only $40 more right now and slightly more aesthetically pleasing to look at lol.
Would you recommend this or the big green? I just want whatever would be the strongest cleaner. Also does the big green have steam as well?
No the big green doesn't have steam capabilities
Does it works on hard flooring to clean?
With all carpet cleaners I've used, coffee is usually one that won't come out ever. Red stains as well. Id be interested to see what this could do for those stains in my house.
Hi! The hydrosteam is very good for those stains but for deep stains, you might have to run it twice. First run on deep, extract as much as possible, let it dry and then run it again.
I had the 2x Revolution. It just broke after a little more than 2 years. It removed any coffee stains perfectly. The built quality could be better though.
Maybe I've missed it, but how do you clean the branches? I know it's the rollout and wash it under water?
HY Peroxide diluted with dawn works the best as a pre treatment for pet urine, coffee and wine, allow to sit and take a white towel and allow it to be absorbed in a towel, this way of removing a spot leaves residue and pushed the stain down farther into the carpet, these machines are only good for a light cleaning, i have been cleaning rugs for over 30 years
Hi do you have an email i can contact you at i got a couple questions on starting a cleaning company and what to use
When using the hose, do the brush rollers shut off? That was one of my biggest complaints with my Revolution. Can’t shut the rollers off when using the hose.
Hi! Sadly the brush rolls do not turn off. The hand attachments work just like on the 2x proheat revolution.
@@TheFrenchGlow Appreciate the reply! I have a dedicated sheet pan I put under it when using the hose so it doesn’t tear into my carpet running and running on a single spot. Would have been great if they had included some kind of switch.
What is the difference between the Crosswave hydroSteam and the Revolution Hydrosteam?
Does it dry faster than the Proheat?
I would love if it dries when i go backwards. I hate walking in wet carpet and getting my socks or bare feet wet.
Hi! If you do not press the trigger, the hydrosteam will extract water and not add any. If you like a carpet cleaner that extracts when it goes back, the hoover smartwash carpet cleaner is configured to remove water whenever you pull back on the unit.
Does it work on hardwood at all?
Do the upholstery attachments work as well as on this upright model, as they do on the HydroSteam Pet portable version?
Great review, just purchased! What camera and mic system do you use?
Revolution hydrosteam compared to Crosswave hydrosteam?
Can you use it to clean hard floor?
no that uses on carpets only use the crosswave hydrosteam model for hard floors
According to the Carpet and Rug Institute Hoover carpet washers and Rug Doctor machines out clean any Bissell machines and they have documented deep clean ability and have a rating by them that something no Bissell machine including the revolution does not have.
Are you sure Bissell submitted their machines for testing? 🙂CRI is mostly for commercial machines and does NOT mean one is better than the other.
@@TheFrenchGlow the Carpet and Rug Institute also test residential machines from Hoover and Rug Doctor currently on the list there are no Bissell carpet cleaners that earns a rating from the institute.
Does this vacuum as well?
@The French Glow this will give professional grade cleaning results
Hi! As close as I have tried and in imho it performs better while being easier to use than the rug doctors you rent at home depot or Lowes.
@@TheFrenchGlow does it do better with the steam being applied while applying solution?
Hello! Can you use it to clean hardwood?
Hi! I wish but really meant only for carpet and rugs
Right out of the box it makes a loud high pitched noise. Any idea what that could be from. Saw some people on forums mention it without any solution.
Dude you just made me buy one/. thanks for your review.
Please help , do you pull trigger forward and back or just forward . Tyvm I liked and sub.
Can you use on rugs?
Thank you for the review
Thank you for watching!
I have an older carpet cleaner that I haven’t loved using and hardly ever pull it out of the closet. Where does everyone go to get rid of the unwanted carpet cleaners?
Hi! I donate mine to my local goodwill or donation center but others use Facebook marketplace to list theirs.
I got mine today. Thanks for the video chino.🍺😎👍
Going in to clean out a friend's condo after her renters moved out- will this work with cat stain and mess that has been setting in for however longer
How do you disassemble it!!
The my hadle clicked before the top canister
Hi! Use a small thin stick on the bottom of the handle. There should be a small hole where you can press the lock button to release the handle. You do not need to press hard but it does require some force. Don't try to force the wand out and just shimmy it up and out.
Where can I buy in the UK? I need this asap
what i noticed is that because the carpet sample is over hardwood all the water get sucked out. this is not the case for carpet inside the home. less water extraction.
Hi! Yes it is worth it over the proheat because it picks up stubborn stains better. Hot water works better than warm water of the proheat for pets.
So what would your pick be The shark shampooer or this?
Hi! It depends on your home. If you don't have a lot of space, want lighter device with better suction, the shark. But if you want to shampoo a really dirty carpet or rug, the hydrosteam will clean it better and remove odors.
@@TheFrenchGlow Thank you, for responding perfect thank you!
Would this damage loop pile carpet? Would it be better to use a crosswave with hydro steam for loop pile carpet?
I have a loop 9 x 12 rug and it does not damage or pull out the fibers but check the material (nylon and polyester more suspestable to damage from high heat) and test it as the steam is much hotter than proheat. I would not recommend the crosswave hydrosteam for any type of carpet. It's really only for hard floors.
Do you recommend this for couch cleaning as well over portable ones? Was looking at little green pet pro
@@TheFrenchGlow do you recommend the hydrosteam over the clean slate xl
Hello! does the HydroSteam have height adjustment, would like to use on barefloor as well?
In front of the rollers how close will it clean against a wall? Thank you.
Hi! Sadly no high adjustment and for edges, you will have to do them manually as the steamer parts are the entire front of the unit. The Tineco s5 steam does not have these issues though. Check out my review here ua-cam.com/video/2nXQSVRc9zs/v-deo.html
Is it better than big green?
I think it is.
Have you tried using it on hard floor?
Hi! I haven't but you could probably use it on the express setting for hard floor If you are ok with the stiffer brushroll spinning on your hard floors. It is different from the crosswave hydrosteam which is meant for hard floors.
I wonder if you can use this on tile
Hi! The Revolution Hydrosteam is for carpet but there is a crosswave hydrosteam for hard floors.
Bissell pro heat lasted 6 months I had 2 of them Hoover 3 months
Rug doctor 3 years Bissell Big green I just got
So is there also a rinse mode with clean water? If not then how is all the shampoo from the carpet removed?
Hi, you can rinse with only plain water after your cleaning session. It has a suction mode only
@@TheFrenchGlow oh ok thanks. Waiting for some deal on this item. It seems revolutionary to make steam.
Can you also show how to remove the handle?
After the handle is locked in its hard to remove the handle. I had remove the clean water tank, remove the 4 screws and then push in the black lever. I accidentally put the handle on before putting on the frame for the clean water tank and once you do that the handle can't go on with the frame for the clean water tank. At least mine was not going on
Would this be good for tile floor ?
My apartment is 75% tile. The other 25% is a huge rug
@@TheFrenchGlow ok cheers I will check ok them out now. Tired of hand mopping with poor results haha
Do you know if I can put on the bissell bare floor tool on this vacuum so I can use it on my tile?
Big green or this one plz😢
This one imho
@@TheFrenchGlow thanks a bunch 🌷🌷❤️
Thanks for the review
😊
Can you order parts
Bissell Big Green...or this? Extraction is the key-if it doesn't suck up the majority of the liquid & stains, that's the important part
I will not purchase residential carpet machines they only last six months I've been through five of them
Rug Doctor last 3 years big green I just purchased I don't know yet
@@mattie9419 I've had my Big Green for over 5 years, and the only part I replaced is the rotating float valve, that shows you the water being put down. A 12 dollar part and YT helped there for instruction.
Nice 👍✨
I wished you would have lifted the carpet to see what it did to the wood floor
Hi! That’s my wood floor so I would never risk damaging them for a carpet test. But if you hold the trigger too long, any carpet will get over saturated very quickly
Thank you
But it doesnt even use steam at all for the upholstery tool
No steam on the upholstery tool.
This or the Bessel big green machine
Hi! This one. Lighter, less expensive + steam + accessories.
@@TheFrenchGlow wow you replied! I have a big green machine. Would this clean better? I could always store the big green as back up and buy this.
