I got some hybrid poplars I planted 5-7 yrs ago. Some are almost as big a a steering wheel in diameter & 20-30ft. I’m going to cut a few down maybe this winter. You should try to go in there in spots and spray clethodim and kill the grass in 20-30 yard circles for better woody/broadleaf regen. Leave some grass for diversity.
Sounds like a good plan! Yah if this was my piece I'd be attacking the grass. This landowner has a lot of other projects to tackle so it won't be in the plans on this piece.
Would love to do this but our bush honey suckle is already out of control since our aspen was clear cut 25 years ago. Wish there was more info out there on bush honey suckle removal on a mass scale. Walking around killing it manually is not feasible in the slightest
