They ruined this icon of an suv but the cx5 is better in a lot of ways. The interior and quality in the cx5 is so much better and you get a luxurious ride too which is a plus
My wife as a '22 2LT AWD with the 2.0L Turbo/9spd. Took it on a 3000 mile road trip and we averaged 28.5mpg including city, highway, and some mountain driving. But, it is a 2LT, so no leather wrapped steering wheel, no heated wheel, and miles of plastic on the inside. Besides the mileage, the only other thing I like about it is wireless Apple CarPlay. Hers was built without the chips for the heated seats and rear parking sensors...the chips are supposed to be in later this year, but it is anyone's guess. She likes her Blazer, but she will definitely be turning it in at the end of the lease to look at something else. It was a nice step up from our 2019 Equinox.

That’s funny because it is a rental car. $45 per day from enterprise to be exact. I know bc my insurance covered one just like this while my car was in the shop for 2 months after my catalytic converter got stolen.

Reliability Mazda, luxurious interior by far Mazda, driving dynamics by FAR Mazda. The way the interior looks and the feeling of driving cannot be matched unless you move up to a luxury brand.
Unpopular opinion, I prefer it over the Mazda. The exterior is more attractive imo and the interior has better design with the air vents and touch screen. The Mazda has better materials.
Looks like an enterprise car rental poster vehicle. Generally a good car but the cx5 looks more classy and luxurious. Chevy interior looks a little bit cheap for my liking...
I don't know about this. The CX-5 sets a pretty high bar to clear, it's a great vehicle. I think given you are getting a larger vehicle, it would be worth the extra money to move up another trim level and ad AWD .

Man for me that’s honestly kinda hard. I really like what Mazda is doing but in the past I’ve had family with a Blazer and they are impressive no matter how old they are.
Keep in mind that the CX-5 is 180" long and the blazer is 191" so the blazer is kind of awkwardly placed in chevys lineup. The equinox would be the logical comparison as that is 183", same size class
44k I just scored one of the last Black on Jet black 2022 Blazer RS in my area. Brand new w/ 52 miles... Fully loaded, all options... Was looking at the Mazda... but the 2022 Blazer RS, and where it's at *now if you can find *new 2022 RS's... I was fortunate...FWD/ AWD, AWD w/ Sport. The options blow the Mazda away imo. 3.6L v6 309HP. Cylinder deactivation, panoramic sun roof, leather, headed/cooling seats, 20" wheels etc etc etc... I personally think it's better than the '23 RS. They took away too many edgy lines, and that added 2" on the screen gets in the way of the flat dash i love so much... Not to mention the 21" wheels cause a rougher ride. It's worth the added 7.5k. They had 1 standard promo saving me $1,500 and another for $750. If we're not talking RS... yea, maybe i can see it but your mentioning top trim CX5... I just think Chevy /GM did it right for the 2022... perfecting their 2019 b4 the refresh...Stadium seating, nice flat gripy dash... it's just perfect for me whether I'm working in the car, or need to load up and run locations, hook the laptop up... nice leather... Both great vehicles... But I've never felt more "matched" w/ a vehicle than this... lets see if it's the honeymoon phase lol (doubt it). Some features about the Blazer that do standout. Good size SUV for plenty of space. As mentioned in the comments, could use some amenities and that cheap plastic interior GM used here isn't cool for the price of even the low end and mid tier Blazer trims.

The only advantage to the Blazer is that it’s roomier inside. The CX-5 looks far nicer and is a much better value. Chevrolet interiors usually look rental car cheap even on the top trims, and this is no exception.
Looking for a new SUV now and my husband wants me to get a Blazer, but I keep coming back to the CX-5. It is gorgeous inside and with the turbo i think it would be perfectly fine. It's also alot cheaper. 😂
I had one of these as a rental car for a few months and it was exactly fine. Good power from the V6, but everything else was mediocre at best. My brother has a loaded CX5 and Id choose one of those over a Blazer any day of the week…

The Blazer looks very nice love the looks, color and interior the styling looks bit better than CX-5. But under the hood the CX-5 is more reliable would last longer though give credit on GM they are looking good including pickup trucks. This Blazer is good though orange color brings out a lot making look sporty on exterior looks.

For the family needs Blazer is better than Mazda CX-5. But Mazda Cx-5 is much slicker inside and out and outperfom the Blazer in everything exept dimentions. And females prefer tiny SUVs as CX-5 and in this case they are right in their choice. I would buy only future 2023 electric Blazer in red colour and red interior with extended range battery. If chevy dealers give more discounts for the future EV Blazer it would be an absolute hit in 2023 and outsell the mid level Teslas. So my final verdict is: I would buy this 2022 Chevrolet Blazer only the brand new and with 10 grand dealers rebate.
I gotta be honest this thing stinks its a big let down as a revival of the blazer name BUT The original late 80s early 90s early 2000s were boring suvs BUT they were amazing offroad yes they may have been on the half ton Chevy Silverado chassis but they were a monster with offroad/all terrain tires a 6 inch lift on 32s and with Chevys g80 locker option and 4.3 v6 and 4.2 i6 made it a monster Just think about it like this rn they are boring but if you buy a salvage or clean title 2020/2022 Chevy blazer awd and swap out the i4 turbo for a LS4 swap with 33s and the fact its awd will make it the original blazer it was in 1968-1987 Try and do that to a cx5 ill wait.
The base 2.5 is a great engine in those mazdas. Better than honda and toyota. Heck toyota is rebranding mazdas as we speak. Glad to get my mazda before they got ecspensive.
I think Chevrolet loosed an opportunity with this SUV. The nameplate is meaningless at this point as car makers are reutilizing old names on new cars that have nothing to do with the old cars. Nice video. 👍👍
It's minor but why does Chevrolet still insist on the gold Bowtie? Especially on vehicles that the exterior basically is two tone black and whatever color? It should be black like the RS offers.
It might just be me, but a bad wheel design ruins the look of the entire car. (I'm aware you can buy aftermarket wheels). For me, the stock wheels have to be perfect and Chevy never gets it right.

it's not a bad looking vehicle, but the "Chevrolet" brand name has been so devalued that nobody wants to buy a car with a bowtie. GM did the same thing to Pontiac. it eventually got to the point that you would rather be seen in a Hyundai than in a Pontiac. the new Corvette is a great car, but Corvette is essentially a brand unto itself, I don't think that there is any real halo effect cast on the Chevrolet brand from the Corvette

I paid 31k for a 22 CX-5 Carbon Edition with real leather everywhere, a great AWD system, power lift gate, sunroof, etc, and it drives and rides more like a European sports sedan than an SUV. The 2023 model due out any time now has all LED lighting, and a larger infotainment system.

I like that orange paint. I live in New England and FWD is just fine. I never have a problem with my FWD sedan or my 2WD truck.

it's not a bad looking vehicle, but the "Chevrolet" brand name has been so devalued that nobody wants to buy a car with a bowtie.
GM did the same thing to Pontiac. it eventually got to the point that you would rather be seen in a Hyundai than in a Pontiac.
the new Corvette is a great car, but Corvette is essentially a brand unto itself, I don't think that there is any real halo effect cast on the Chevrolet brand from the Corvette

Wow..Chevy is falling heavy. We just compared a Chevy Blazer to a Mazda Suv lol Ford really is killing the game on all sides. Everything they design and create has elevated. Beautiful Chevy Suv though. GMC should just go all out and switch up their design Language.
its not ugly on the outside but who would spend 35k on this car, the gauge clusters look like they are from 2013, cloth seats at 35k is crazy, the ford edge at that price comes standard with leather seats
And a rubber steering wheel! It's what you constantly TOUCH when driving the car. $35k for a rubber steering wheel? I paid 31k for a 22 CX-5 Carbon Edition with real leather everywhere, a great AWD system, power lift gate, sunroof, etc, and it drives and rides more like a European sports sedan than an SUV. No comparison really.
Let's be honest y'all, the GMC Acadia should easily be the Chevy Blazer & this Blazer should be the GMC Acadia..just sayin 🤷🏾♂️
