2021 Chevy Blazer review! The 2021 Chevy Blazer is a disappointment -- and a mistake. In a world of nostalgic, cool SUVs, Chevy burned the Blazer name by giving us this one, a boring crossover. Here's my review of the 2021 Chevy Blazer, including some of the quirks and features -- and a review of the Blazer's driving experience.

Love how Doug didn't show us the quirks and features or go over each category of the Doug Score. Good job GM, I think you irritated one of the most laid back people.

Damn. I feel bad for you. Just think of yourself as the 70s Blazer. I mean it isn't much but it can make you feel good.
A lot of online automotive journalists and UA-cam influencers have criticized GM for tainting the Blazer brand legacy with this watered down, wannabe Camero/Mustang E monstrosity, but you really drove home the point in your analysis. Good job and great video. Unfortunately, GM has never really been a company that learns from it's mistakes.
Respect for having the courage to say it how it is

I’d be happy if they brought back the 80s and 90s blazer, don’t even care if it was the exact same. Lol…
This is why we watch him, it doesn’t take courage to do honest and good review.
Doug Is brave and stunning
Courage? Nobody likes this vehicle.
Finally, Doug reviews a bad car again.
It's not really a bad car, it's just disrespectful to the original blazer which is why it's a disappointment, just another boring forgettable crossover that'll be forgotten.
@@AspireGMD well the mustang mach e is disrespectful to the mustang yet doug liked it alot
@@10ProSoccer Yeah, but the mustang Mach E actually has a lot of power and is a blast to drive just like a mustang, this is just a basic crossover with a slightly above average design for the style that nobody cares about, not to mention this isn't a good capable off-roader like the old and new ford bronco or the old blazer was.
You mean better yet.. the Worst car of the year
Doug doesn’t hate on cars all that often. You know its a pile when he does.
Doug the type of guy to premature ejec
All these years and GM still thinks off road is a trend that will "Die in no time". It's like GM likes losing.
He hates it so much that this didn't even go on MoreDougDeMuro
The problem is it is such a generic car. It is so easy to forget.
I knew it was a pile when he said it was made by GM
Of all Doug's reviews this is the most ruthless I've seen Doug get on a review... after seeing this I don't think I'd even want it at a discount... I mean who wants a low performance Camaro crossover
I think his Metris and Ghibli reviews are more ruthless because those are legitimately BAD vehicles, while this is just fine, but a bad revival.
@@triple7marc ooooh hahaha you reminded me... I remember watching the matrix review... that was a terrible vehicle for sure...with those non folding bench seats.

Gotta live how Doug just professionally told the world that the new Blazer is hot garbage, damn the quirks, went straight to it. 😂
Its a soccer mom car, idk why we are comparing it to a off road vehicle
@@jonathanflask2475 Because they named it after an iconic off-roading vehicle.
The original Blazer was an iconic off road vehicle reviving the Bronco and the Land Cruiser (or the FJ 40 or the 4 Runner) back in the 1970s to the early 2000s. I was disappointed that they brought it back as a mom automobile crossover and Its also worse than a Grand Cherokee too...
I own a Camaro and that's why I like the new Blazer. It's kind of the suv of the Camaro. I would only have the six and would love to have an V8 but I'm just one person.
So it’s like an Equinox? Except it’s the same weight. The same class. The same number of seats . . .
Woah it's you

@@dr.butters8208 I hope so!
Yup pretty much. GM failed to make an off road product.
Woah Tay Zonday! Legend
Ford: Let's take a chance and revive an icon!
Chevy: makes another equinox
They thought that just because the Equinox is a good crossover they could resell it with a better name.
For shame, and I'm a chevy fan.
YUP!!
well, Chevy has had the Corvette and Ford doesn't have a straight competitor to the Corvette. Ford has had many different versions of the Mustang but never a sports car similar to the Corvette.
@@DJTrump47 Ford GT.
This honestly looks like something my mom would drive. She's been driving the smaller SUVs since the Jimmy.
As a GM fanboy, I was immensely disappointed when they revealed this thing. Chevy just keeps dropping the ball time and time again. Here I thought they'd make a cool utility/offroad vehicle like everyone else but nope.
It's not a bad car at all, I honestly think it's better and more enjoyable than many other SUV's in its range, it's just the fact that it's name doesn't live up, it's like people calling the mach-e a "bad car" just because of it's name despite it being rated as one of the absolute best EV's by many top car enthusiast magazines. I agree it's heavily disappointing but to call it a "bad" car over it's name is just disingenuous. I just feel like people are way harder on GM than other brands justified or not.
@@AspireGMDThe Mustang Mach-E is at least quick enough and reasonably fun to drive to be named the Mustang
I love how he just got over this review as quickly as possible, yet 80% of the review was about how stupid GM was squandering the chance to revive the Blazer name.
Fastest Doug Score overview I've seen! 😂
GM squanders a lot of things.
Good point, just like they did with the Chevy SS, instead of calling it the Chevelle/Nova and build on that well know name, they just call it the SS, don’t do any marketing, and made it look too much like a Malibu and it flopped.
@@Wetwilly87 the SS failed because the way it looked someone who buys a car like that wants aggressive looking vehicle not a Malibu the reason the G8 sold well and yes it was the same vehicle underneath including the chassis but they changed the body parts which made it more aggressive.
@@robertscott305 agreed, making it look aggressive was very much needed, but the name Nova could have invoked the 4 door sedans from the past and given Chevy a car that could compete with the Dodge Charger in the Muscle Sedan market.
I like how the car enthusiast in Doug is literally offended by Chevy’s decision to make this vehicle.
Most of GM's new products are offensive to car enthusiasts and regular consumers alike. That company is horribly run.
@@illinoistiger8694

😆😆😆
Haha! I love it he was going HAM on Chevy in this video .. wouldn’t be surprised if they silently use this as a catalyst to actually bring an off-roader to market
Like when he started cursing during the AMG G65 video 😂
I’m thinking they did this so they wouldn’t internally compete with the new Hummer, but they were too afraid to do what Ford did with the Mustang Mach E to do an actual Camaro SUV, so we ended up with a weird hybrid of both ideas, neither of which are executed very well.
Your suspicion is more detailed than what I was going to comment about. Wow.
I agree. The market for an agressive sporty looking is still there. A lot of people will still buy this. But maybe they should have called this car something else. And they for sure need an off-road SUV, the blazer would have been perfect for this.
New Hummer is 100k, that does not compete with the Bronco or the Wrangler and definitely not the 4Runner. They could’ve brought the Blazer back as a cheaper off road alternative but GM is too incompetent to do that
Not hummer. Tahoe and Suburban. A smaller off-road capable vehicle with actual 4 wheel drive and on a proper truck chassis, especially if they could keep it around 45-60k, would have absolutely cut the knees off their overly bloated (in size and price) 1500-based SUVs. And if it was meant to be a Camaro SUV, it should have been an Alpha platform instead of Chi. A transverse engine FWD based chassis - even with a good AWD system - will never match a proper longitudinal RWD platform. Best engine for the Blazer is a 310 hp V6. Over at FCA, the Durango and Grand Cherokee start with the pentastar and can receive Hemis and Hurricanes and have had SRT and Hellcat variants. Hard to even compare them to GM's C1XX lineup of soulless driving appliances.
Why would Chevrolet compete with their own vehicles?
I love this. 15 minutes of GM getting chewed out. Deservingly so.
GM HAS THE HUMMER
GM needs to do a lot better. They can't rely on government bailouts stay alive.
@@daveincanada785
GM = GOVERNMENT MOTORS
@@MrDICKHEAD28 I promise you the hummer will be garbage also
@@MrDICKHEAD28 Yea but the Hummer EV is like 130k which is crazy expensive. Chevy itself could have made an affordable off road Blazer that could be around 50k or 60k and it would be cheaper than the Wrangler, but they got so lazy and just dropped the ball on the "blazer" which is now a mom crossover which is unfortunate
I actually like videos like this where you talk about the position of a car in its segment or its history. Not just a typical review, kind of like an old magazine column but in a video
The wiser you get, the more you realize how important history is.
That is exactly how Doug launched his career.
You should watch motorweek too. They also put up old reviews from all the way back in the early 80s
Just him trashing on cars is amazing to watch lol
It’s so bad he didn’t even get in the back seat or trunk, and he phoned in the Doug Score so he didn’t have to repeat his disappointment for each category. I feel like the review was a perfect homage: “Fine, GM wants to phone in a vehicle design, I’ll phone in a review.” LOL
I think for these Sunday videos he just shows the final Doug-score, doesn't break it down, like with the older 'More Doug Demuro' reviews that are now the Sunday videos on his main channel.
This review is basically what he did over at his second channel, which he seems to not be using any more and just posting these videos on the main channel.
@mike williams
That's a nice theory, except for the fact that the Suburban, Explorer, and Charger sell well outside of police departments. Every day I drive to work and see plenty of them on the roads.
I think if the vehicle merely had a different name, the review would have been more thorough.
@mike williams if this with the v6 becomes a police car were actually gonna have an issue. These are quick and belive it or not these make 260whp
If GM keeps this up, they're gonna need another bailout.
They're doing fine, they've been doing better recently than many other brands tbh.

They just do everything that badly. The Corvette, Camaro, and some trucks and full size SUVs are the exception. Ever since they went bankrupt, it's been a downward spiral.
The Corvette is a frumpy looking mess
What do you mean? New mid-engined corvettes are a mess. Sharing none of the spirit with it's predecessors. Looking ultra boring, and lacking any character. Which is exactly what this car is. It's so generic that you could never tell what it is if not for the badge. It looks like 99% of modern "SUVs" and crossovers. GM is the king of bad timing. Back between 2002-2010 they were actually being pretty innovative and trying a lot of new ideas (for better or for worse). But the market wasn’t really ready for that at the time. GM overcorrected from that and now offers some of the most aggressively bland and least innovative vehicles on the market.
That's the best way to say it "the most aggressively bland"
The 2005 chevy trailblazer was the biggest piece of shit I have ever owned lmao
@@iphone3guru Yeah again, for better or for worse lol. Yeah the GMT350 Trailblazers weren’t great vehicles, but you have to respect the innovation. Pretty healthy straight 6 or V8 power, rear wheel drive. They even offered a high performance version way before that was a common thing. To their credit, GM definitely wasn’t just phoning it in with that Trailblazer like they are with the current one.
Canceling the volt platform was a huge mistake. They couldve beefed it up for trucks and killed the game
GM does seem to be good st being super late. Lucky for them, people are die hard fans due to their small block v8s.
A lot of US car manufacturers started to use foreign designer's though, thankfully. Couldn't take much more of the "bigger is better" philosophy. Prefect timing on the vette too, right as v8s are on their way out the door
As a former Blazer ZR2 owner, I agree, this is a massive disappointment. There’s no way they can credibly resurrect an offroader version of this model. Like Doug said, they missed the mark…

You know it is a real disappointment when Doug didn't even want to take you to a full tour of the car's "quirks and features".
This is quite clearly a car with about as few quirks and features as you could possibly imagine.
The worst part about it that I discovered with the new Blazer is the drive modes. It’s super freaking laggy when you change the modes. But not only that, I was changing drive modes with a rotary knob and it was jiggling a lot. That’s the typical GM built quality showing.
Doesn't surprise me one bit. GM is the master when it comes to taking one platform and making 6 versions of it, somehow thinking that's a good idea. They have been doing it for decades....
I guess they think it’s a good idea since they don’t need to make a new platform meaning they don’t need to make another but still doesn’t make since
I was so used to Doug's positive titles... this caught me totally off guard but I am not surprised considering the vehicle

No one wants a retro styled pickup and the Silverado is GMs bread and butter so they cant risk fucking it up. The competition in that segment is way too fierce and besides the current trucks are the same unchanged formula as the old ones.
Thank you Doug Demuro! An honest review of one of the most idiotic things GM has come up with in a long history of idiotic things GM has done in the past couple decades
I'm convinced that GM as a whole struggles with every day decisions. A year or two ago I was looking at a modern truck and for over $50k the truck I found had minimal steering wheel controls and the right side of the wheel where they could have additional practical buttons there was a blank installed. How in the hell do they miss that mark on "optional" buttons on a $50k truck? At that price point, all of the buttons should be there, not a blank for steering wheel controls. The previous years Silverado, the buttons were similar to those of a calculator in the 90's.
Thankfully we now get Peugeot based/styled ones now in Europe.
The ONLY redeemable decision from GM was to create the C8.
What's craziest about it to me is that the Silverado looks so damn good on the outside, yet is so basic and plastic-y on the inside. And that infotainment screen, my goodness, though that's every Chevy frankly. GMC the same way, awesome exteriors, seriously love the Sierra's styling, totally cheapskate interior. And it's not like they're cheaper than any of their rivals either. I don't get it.
50k is considered cheap in the truck game. A ford platinum is starting at 90k
Everyone hates our Chevy fleet vans. They genuinely feel like they’re crappy cars from the 90s. Ford and Mercedes work vans are a million times better.
Thing is, the blazers from 1980s-2009 were still off-roady and held their muscular design.
They had high ground clearance, had a proper engine, and looked muscular.
This car in particular isn't that bad, it just doesn't deserve the Blazer/Trailblazer nameplate AT ALL. My dad's 09 trailblazer has an inline 6 cylinder engine it still runs quiet after all these years, and is used as a family/off road car to this day. 2009 was really the end of the Blazer/Trailblazer
I'm sorry but the TrailBlazer was never a off road ready. A 4 speed automatic, didn't have the ground clearances without a ton of modifications. Yes it had high and low gears, but rear locker was an option that almost no one got, because why would you?
Don't forget 2006-09 when they made the Trailblazer SS with a 6.0L LS2 V8. The resale on those today is still pretty high.

They should’ve just used this as the next generation equinox and saved the comeback of the Blazer name for a more worthy vehicle instead of trying to beat ford to the market with the return of a famous nameplate.
Interesting thought, I had a 2017 equinox prior to my 2021 blazer, and I found the blazer had everything I wish I had with the equinox. although they have a similar weight, I feel like the weight of the blazer is distributed more evenly and it handles better in the icy winter conditions. This guy mentioned a risk for poor visibility, but I have not had this issue, either, and maybe I just do not care about the nostalgia of a blazer 20 years older than me, but I was completely sold on the Camaro influence in design. I guess it boils down to who this vehicle was being marketed towards, and I am the target market for this one. They probably wanted the name "blazer" to represent something fiery and sexy, rather than something clunky.
I’m thrilled that I didn’t buy a Chevy in early 2020, they don’t care about their customers at all. Plus! The world already has lots of good crossovers people can buy and be happy with. Why Chevy thought it was a good idea to use the blazer name for another generic crossover is beyond me.
I had to drop my car off for maintenance work at Subaru, and was driven over to the Chevy dealer owned by the same family business for a rental car, and you could clearly tell the difference. Waiting Area of Despair. No coffee, no free snacks, or TV, and they tried like heck not to acknowledge people as if they'd just go away. Lines of Cars getting repaired, Subaru, was just two people that day.
They make good trucks but I would not buy anything from Chevy that isn't a truck these days.
Because of name recognition. It’s the only reason

Thanks Doug, I already disliked the blazer from the get go, but seeing how the dash is basically from a Camaro just ruined the entire vehicle for me. This thing is a giant turd.
This has been GM's problem for the last several decades. They oversaturate the market with nearly identical vehicles on the same platform in the name of manufacturing efficiency. Ford killed off entire brands a decade ago to right size and GM is still designing new logos and names instead of updating what they already have on the market.
gm sucks
GM has killed off way more brands than Ford has. There's Saab, hummer, Pontiac, oldsmobile, saturn... Ford got rid of Mercury.
Ford only killed off Mercury, they were able to sell off their other companies (Mazda, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo). But it’s still a statement that GM had to kill their brands and Ford was able to sell theirs.

Ah, yes. The Chevy “Dissapointment”.
GM has really lost its touch. I used to be a GM fan, then they stopped listening to what customers want, and bagged all the cool vehicles for these boring plain rides, unless it is a over 80k+ Vette or something.
I honestly would have been more than okay with the Blazer coming back as a crossover if they at least offered it as a RWD based vehicle and offered V8 engines/Real Performance options like a Grand Cherokee but alas, this is the best we can get...
I feel like the plan, especially looking at the size of the engine bay, is to later release an SS model with a V8 and AWD, but they've gone about it backwards. The cool version should have come first with lower trims later on to sell off the vehicle's image.
Yup, they should’ve taken cues from Dodge and at least offered it with a big V8 option. But instead, GM shit out a vehicle that looks like a trailer park meth head version of the Camaro and Equinox that had a kid that’s missing a few chromosomes.

@@CaraesNaur I have so many ideas for how GM could compete with the new Bronco and Defender.
Ford: We broke the off-road market with the Raptor, let’s Bring back the Bronco.
Jeep: Heritage is key, let’s keep our classic styling til the earth blows up.
Toyota: Let’s see how long we can get away with not changing the 4Runner. 13 model years and counting seems pretty good since we are the kings of reliability.
Subaru: Hmmm, let’s be trendy and build an off-road outback.
GM: Change? What’s that, whose he? That’s sounds dumb. CONSERVATISM IS KEY. We’ve had good sales, let’s bring back the Captiva by calling it a blazer and making it look like a carbon copy of the Camaro since we plan on killing it in the next couple of years cause our sales our falling for some weird reason. Who cares about off-roading anyway? Sounds ridiculous. And let’s not talk about how for 12 model years we haven’t made a Raptor equivalent of the Silverado, but that’s what hummer is for.
As someone who has grown up in multiple GM vehicles, I almost want to say they’re slowly becoming an American version of Mitsubishi. And we all know how bad that is. SMH 🤦♂️
I never thought about it that way, GM really is turning into the American version of Mitsubishi. It's almost like they don't care anymore. If they don't start making some changes pretty soon they'll fade into total obscurity.
GM actually has a real Blazer--it's called the Holden Trailblazer, and only the Aussies get it. It's based off the ZR-2 platform of the Colorado.Gotta thank an Aussie in the comments for pointing it out to me!
Actually making a Camaro SUV is pretty risky and remaking the old bronco is the definition of conservative ie conserving the past as opposed to innovation and trying something new as a kid I always dreamed if my dad's wagon was a Camaro and they actually did it and 300hp isn't bad but nowadays if it's not 400hp people scoff at it. Don't let Doug gaslight you he is very biased against American cars only reason he likes fords is because of his Ford gt, don't get me wrong I would love a retro full size blazer as well but this one isn't deserving of this much hate I guarantee you if chevy did one to Doug's specs he would still choose the land rover
The thing is, the new Blazer doesn't actually suck- in fact, it's a totally decent, totally reasonable car. There's really nothing super wrong with the Blazer. The problem is, there's really nothing *right* with it either.
Pandemic and supply chain problems aside, it's a serious indication that we're living in a high-water era of automobiles when a perfectly acceptable, reasonably attractive, and largely inoffensive car like this can be so roundly panned. In recent years, we've just seen so much innovation and quality that "good enough" just isn't. Tesla, Rivian, new Defender and Wrangler, any new Ford or Toyota truck, Mach E, F-Type, BRZ, Miata RF, Taycan, virtually everything from Korea, even the Honda Odyssey- there are just so many excellent cars, in every segment and at every price, that the new Blazer is entirely superfluous and destined to fail from day one.
Very true
No
I don't think there are any truly excellent cars that have been made in the last 15 years. With the exception of maybe some vehicles, namely Toyota.

The Mach E at least is fun to drive. This feels like a Ford Escape.
You can't put the Mach E and this Chevrolet Abomination in the same category. They're not even in the same hemisphere. There's plenty of people who don't care about what they drive. Why do you think Nissan is so popular?
@suspicionofdeceit GM plays follow the leader with other manufacturers. They are not a leader... in anything. They wait for other companies to do things, watch to see if its a success, then they spend months and months deliberating over whether they should do the same, and by the time they do, the market has moved on and left them far behind. The EV game will be no different. But by then the CEO will be gone, and some new "figurehead" will be left to pretend to clean up the mess.
I feel the same way with Toyota and Nissan too tbh. I mean cmon how hard is it for Toyota to sell a offroady version of the Landcruiser priced to compete with Defender and cash in on that name! and what is Nissan even doing. they literally have a huge iconic name in the Patrol and they sell it here as an Armada 🤦🏻 they could also easily update the lights and interior of the Y61 patrol previous gen and sell it in USA and it would sell like hotcakes with that boxy design!! 😭🤦🏻
funny you say that lol, my old manager told me that this is her dream car
As a loyal GM buyer, I totally agree with Doug. I don't know what GM is doing with styling, especially with Cadillac. The last 4 GM products I bought all had horrible infotainment systems. It's 2022 and they are still using tiny screens when the Ford Edge has a giant portrait positioned 12" screen.
By the time GM gets into the off-road market, the trend will have passed.
I think my absolute favorite thing Chevy decided to do with the blazer is make it look like the Camaro. The car that they struggle extremely with selling.
I'll never understand how Chevy can make the Corvette so freaking awesome, but then make terrible choices with 100% of the rest of their lineup.
I mean, the ZL1 and 1LE are nice, but that’s about it.
That’s what I’ve been saying for awhile now. They put all their time and resources into the vette and that’s it
They're finally changing their interiors in their pick up lineup, they don't look like 2009 interiors anymore. Ford, Ram, Nissan etc are only 5 years ahead in that market.. good job GM. It's sad when my 2016 F150 XLT I had, and even my 2012 FX4 had a nicer interior than my friends 2020 trail boss. He even admitted his 2015 XLT interior was nicer. Literally if they didnt have the infotainment screen, that interior is a 2004 interior..
I think Corvette gets treated like its own division. So a lot of independent thinking and intentional separation from Chevy design philosophy, as much as they can get away with.
Corvette has a separate chief engineer. He’s been working on the corvette program since the C5. He has made Corvette basically into a separate company from GM. He does what he wants and even point blank rips on his leaderships high accomplishments with the Aztek (this during an employee speech in front of the former chief engineer of the Aztek). Corvettes chief engineer does what he wants. Says what he wants. He cannot be fired and he knows it. Corvette is not GM. It’s a separate company.

This is the most embarrassing attempt at reviving the blazer. GM really F'd up huge on this, turning it into a non capable soccer mom car. I was so extremely disappointed when it came out. A huge mistake on GMs part. They really could have cornered a real capable offroad SUV but they chose not too and likely lost sales bc of it. They're not popular at all. I hardly ever see them
Yup. And Honda has done the same thing with the Integra. Turned it into a soccer mom car.
They sold 94,599 of them in 2020. That's a fairly solid number, which is incentive enough for Chevrolet to keep making them for now, unfortunately. I've seen several driving around here in my part of WV.
@@SalandFindles Oh I bet they will sell a decent number again. Even with the Integra, Honda will probably sell more to millennials than they would "enthusiasts" if they were to make a coupe. Falling behind the competition at an uncomfortable rate is General Motors' entire modus operandi. They've been blazing that trail since the 80s
I think their last bankruptcy has made any remaining leadership very dismissive of making anything other than what they consider "core products." They followed trends and even led them in the 00s way too hard and failed, but now the pendulum has swung very far in the opposite direction. The Corvette is a good enough consistent seller that they see it fit to keep it as the halo car, but GM got stung so hard after making such niche limited appeal cars as the SSR or cars that were fads like the HHR which sold decently for a while, but were discontinued after anyone interested in it already had one, that they became so conservative with their product strategy that its hurting them in the other way.

All this fuss over nothing more than a name, as if no other company has done major legacy name-swaps for the worse recently **cough** Ford Maverick **cough** ... I really dont care for these types of vehicles but, for the record, the new Blazer was pretty obviously NOT a reaction to the new Gladiator, Bronco, or Defender, nor was it intended to be in that category of vehicle at all. Hell, this new Blazer was launched into production long before any sign of the Gladiator, Bronco, or new Defender anyway. Either way, the new Blazer is quite obviously meant to fit in the same "trendy but basic" segment as the aging Equinox, with direct competitors such as the oh-so-similar, yet somehow not as "disappointing" Honda Passport and Toyota highlander, NOT the full blown offroading enthusiast SUVs and extreme offroad performance pickup trucks you're trying to compare it to, Doug. And comparing this thing to the Camaro is even more of a ridiculous stretch. The styling of this Blazer is nothing more / nothing less than a brand following a certain design language shared by a range of models, as all companies do. Half the styling-cues on this thing are simply taken from other crossovers, not the Camaro. Not sure why you seem to have completely misunderstood the purpose of this vehicle, but you've completely removed it from its context and placed it in a fight it doesnt belong in. Maybe you're just hating on it for the sake of playing along with the whole "GM BAD" auto journalist trend... I'm sure GM will have some actual Bronco competition planned for the near future... I'm more willing to accept the Mach-E being called a Mustang than this being called a Blazer. Come on GM
Needs an “LS”,
but this is nearly impossible since it’s engine/drivetrain design is transverse.
GM should’ve taken the cue from Ford and designed the Blazer to be rear-wheel biased (as the Camaro), like their nemesis did with the latest generation of the Explorer, this way they could’ve also offered their iconic 6.2 V8 as an option. They probably could’ve crushed the competition in price since they wouldn’t require the R&D a new robust power plant (EcoBoost V6, Hellcat) would require.
You know Chevy thought of their retro pony car callback as so beautiful but their reasoning was “it’s not selling well was because it isn’t an SUV”, so they Camaro-ized their latest crossover to look like it but not drive like it.
Cloud 9 already has LS
Funny thing was that GM made a V8 tranverse Sedan in the Buick lineup.
