This Awesome song cemented the fact that I needed to binge their catalog almost 3 years ago. Then I find out that 75% of their songs were made for me. That's why every Maid gets equal billing. Peace. 555
Band-Maid always brings an ONSET of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? Because they're so damn good -- good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking, and beyond good as writers, players and performers. Wow, right?! Thx, Jeremy and Braden!
They play instrumentals on live gigs to give the lead vocalist a break. Couple that with an MC period and a lead vocal song by the 2nd vocalist it's almost like 10 minutes break. Lately, there're 3 MC breaks per concert so that's a lot of rest for the lead vocalist which is great. Also, she never switches the microphone from her left-hand. lol, that gets exhausting!
Oh yeah I’m a hand switcher for a microphone lol all because my one arm gets tired and shit lol. That’s cool that they are so good at what they do they can give their vocalist a break like that. I’ve never seen a band do that
Great reaction..!! If you watch this video again see if you can catch MISA's disappearing pick trick during her solo, where she switches from picking to slapping in the blink of an eye.. pretty slick..
Exactly !!!!! She is a musical genius on the level of a Brian Wilson. The number of composers who can do this today in that manner is very small. I would put Tim Henson and Scott LePage of Polyphia in that category, as well as Machiya from Wagakki Band. Asa from WGB is another very instinctive composer. And after listening to Glim Spanky, I'd have to add Remi Matsuo to the list also, as she has an amazing knack for bringing out Western style blues rock with a definite Asian flavor.
Akane, the drummer, may be nicknamed _The Gorilla,_ but she will always remind me of Animal from The Muppets. He is the only other drummer I've seen who has as much fun on the drums as Akane. *Akanemal!* 🥁
This track is very well structured. Kanami is a modern riff master in my books. Another great instrumental from them is Without Holding Back. There was a live version on the tube at one point, not sure if it's still around but if you find it it's killer.
What does a great band do when the singer takes a break? Just breaks out into a epic instrumental song! This was actually put into Band-Maid's set list to give Saiki a vocal break.
The reason SO many people are in love with Band Maid's instrumentals is that outside of older fans and music professionals, they never heard instrumentals. It was like a lost art. And a lot of people hear instrumental and all they think of is the band just freestyling without a planned musical composition, which is definitely NOT the case with Band Maid. Kanami writes perfect and complex arrangements exactly as if she was writing music for vocals, but the instruments are actually doing the singing. It's even more noticeable in From Now Own, especially when the solos come on. It's like a different singer doing each solo. I've seen them three times in the last year and can't wait to see them again.
FromNowOn and Onset are very nice, Another instrumental, 'Without Holding Back', is also wonderful, so please give it a listen. It feels more funky. I think there was a white room version on UA-cam.
@@moshpitreactions And yet another is "Don't Be Long" There is a white room and a live version of it from a I think 2019 New York performance. It was specifically written to teach Miku how to play a diminished 7th chord for their song Different.
When the musicians are this good they rightfully make sure that each member has a little solo moment. Even Miku who never wanted and hadn't started really learning 10 years ago when the band started. Was convinced by the lead guitarist to be able to play live at the concerts with more confidence and ability. Kanami then taught her and Miku is now really good. Although Kanami may still play all the guitar parts on the recordings Miku can now do the live shows with ease. As you rightfully mentioned It isn't easy being this good and still having the personality shine through.
How many current bands regularly release instrumentals? Very few. Because few have the ability. Band Maid even have instrumental versions of many of their most popular songs. Not sure many bands write well enough for their music to stand out on its own.
Me too. I'm a huge fan of instrumentals. I'm 76 and grew up listening to Don Wilson and The Ventures, The Rip Chords, The Surfaris, The Tornados and from Britain, The Shadows.
Consider in the near future doing a reaction to a Band-Maid song with vocals and its instrumental version. I recommend Giovanni. Start with the album version (no video) then look for the Giovanni instrumental version on YT (just the band in a white room).
You really should check out the acoustic songs on their youtube channel. All five are present for catharsis while three is present for Sayonakidori. Miku, second vocals, rythym guitar sings lead in Sayonakidori. They do this in their sets to give the lesd vocalist, Saiki Atsume, a break.
@@moshpitreactions just to set things even in more perspective: Akane started playing drums in late high school, and could only practice when she was at school.

Akane was not always a great drummer. She became a great drummer by working and working at improving her skills. You can absolutely do the same. But, as they say in the song Manners, it takes Courage to do it. To preserve through the rough patches and keep working. During the pandemic, she went back to the fundamentals and worked and worked on perfecting those. Put the time and effort in and anything is possible, as the Maids prove with every song. Take care and rock on 🤘🏼 🔥🥁🎸🎤🎼😀✌🏼

They are all just so versatile and so talented!

I’ll definitely have to watch that! Also in super slow-mo
@@moshpitreactions Yup, she goes from pick to slap and back to pick in 3 notes.
Band Maid worked hard to get this good. It was 2018 or 2019 they did over 100 live shows in one year. They would play for 50 people sometimes.
That’s dedication and I’m all for that!
Kamani does the singing in their instrumentals! Fantastic song writing.
Amazingly written!

You are right, the instrumentals are where you realize just how amazing they all are.
Correct!

This is still my favorite instrumental of theirs. This one has more of a rock vibe than From Now On. And that guitar tone.🤗
Beautifully done song!
How many current bands regularly release instrumentals? Very few. Because few have the ability.

I can get behind that!
Onset was the first song I ever heard from B-M . I instantly fell in love.
All their songs we have done have been absolutely incredible!
Dude, me too! I was looking for Baby Metal music on here and stumbled onto them and its been a love affair since.

I'm pretty sure that onset is pretty old now, from around 2018. Just checked, It's from Zepp Tokyo 2018 bonus Live DVD with the Start Over single.
Oh we just went with the main one that came up
@@moshpitreactionspersonally I like this one because the mix is so much better.

LOL @5:07
Akane is a machine, never give up the dream!
🤘😀🤘
Absolutely!
I’m glad you picked Onset from this concert as it has the best mix.
I’m glad I could entertain you with the right video for you!
If you went to the Tokyo School Of Music you could be as good as Akane & MISA. It's where they met.
I still don’t think Jeremy would’ve been as good as her lol 😂
@@moshpitreactions just to set things even in more perspective: Akane started playing drums in late high school, and could only practice when she was at school.
@madsstavang she wasn’t able to practice at home or anything?

Smile, have fun and bring havoc to these drums !!!
I’ll certainly show Jeremy this and see if he picks up on the drums again!
I remember my last cd cleaner windows 7, this has the similar sound. Love Bando-Maido po instrumentals.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
