- Before we transition into the new year and dive into even more exciting things to come, a final, more personal reflection took place here at Hodinkee. Our staff banded together from New York City to Atlanta, to Canada, and even Japan to take part in a beloved year-end tradition: sharing the watches they wore most this year.

Call me a geek, but last year’s edition inspired me to track what watch I wore every day for 2022. The results:
Speedmaster - 79 days
Cartier Santos - 78
Grand Seiko Cherry Blossom - 61
Sinn U50 - 51
Breitling Superocean - 45
Rolex Explorer - 23 (purchases Q4)
Citizen The Citizen - 21
Then several watches with just a little wrist time.
i think ur a geek
glad many of these folks have real connections to their watches. being in the industry, it must be easy to get distracted with all the access to so many watches
The vibe I got was that they weren’t that into watches just part of a corporate machine attempting to find meaning within a soulless escapade
@@davidb9531 yep
@@davidb9531 sounds like you've created a fantasy informed by your own personal ideology.
@@Ironworthstriking nah
I genuinely laughed out loud when that Orient lit up. Still makes me chuckle every time I think of it
Does the light use a battery or somehow charges with the rotor?
@@khazelnut definitely a battery
@@Seti12345 Mechanical watch with a battery? Blasphemy.
@@khazelnut Agreed Blasphemous action to design such a thing. LOL
It' the first time I see an Orient on Hodinkee.
I was getting nervous that Hodinkee wasn’t doing this video this year. Whew….. This is always one of my favorites and look forward to it each year!
That Hodinkee Zenith is a beautiful watch. I forgot how great that dial looked. Thanks for the video
Refreshing to see so few Rolexes. Even Hublots would be more exciting.
Great to see a diverse range of watch brands they're wearing and their personal attachment to the watch is refreshing to listen.
100% expected Rado to wear a Rado
My most worn watch in 2022. was a seiko 5 sport srpd55. Got it in November of 2021. and worn it everyday for a year straight. It helped me understand the importance of the day/date window and it’s use in everyday life.
One employee is named Geneva, another one Rado - perfect workplace for them indeed :)
I always look forward to these videos each year, missed a bit of the "home movie" feel of years passed with more production on this one, but what a wonderful year and excited for more Hodinkee.
"home movie" such as?
The watch i wore this year most is my cartier tank solo...
BUT...in December 14 I finally got my MIDO x Hodinkee ocean star GMT,and now i wear it with nylon strap (number 630) Its just incredible...Happy New Year dear Hodinkee team...🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Myles just fell in love with your watch recently, the Ralph Lauren chrono. Beautiful watch ! 2nd Masaharu's Patek 3rd Jeff's omega. Great video nice to see staff and what they like. Thanks Hodinkee !
I remember when HODINKEE wasn’t so corporate/commercialized, and you knew everyone because they were all writers and contributed to content. Now, it seem that most employees that were highlighted are backend employees that help consumers buy/sell a watch.
EXACTLY!
It’s somewhat sad that year after year you don’t see the same faces. Could be a good thing, highlighting those not front and center. Or a bad, constant turnover. Congrats to these people on accomplishment and happiness in their position.
It’s a sign of success. Stop being a hater
@@zrb901 Not being a hater, Zach. My comment was a mere observation of the evolution of HODINKEE. Not everyone was into watches when HODINKEE first came out. It happens to many company in every industry. If you’re on this earth long enough, you get to observe these evolutions. My hate is towards myopic comments. 😉
I mean Hodinkee is technically a watch dealer so yes they do sell watches
Patek 5110 probably wins the day!
Masa and Sekiguchi-san! Love their Cartier and Patek. And to all, amazing watches.
"Long Jeans"
For 2022, I wore my Omega Seamaster 2541.00 quartz, which Pierce Brosnan wore during his 1st film as 007, the most. This is sort of a "birth year" watch for me and I remember I have always wanted to own one when I was a kid.
Wow! The Hodinkee is really a big family. Thank you all for the inspiration.
What a great series and nice to see the faces behind hodinkee
This is peak Hodinkee content.
Great to see all the difference in taste & overall enjoyment of each individual's watch. Lovely~
What a great end of the year video. It just goes to show that it is not just the watches, but the heartfelt stories behind these beloved timepieces. Happy 2023 Hodinkee Staff!
What great selection of awesomeness watches ⌚️ love everything about Hodinkee and beautiful people,,,Seriously thank you for sharing personal experiences and moments 😊 you guy's rock...until next year cheers....all way from St George Utah ✌️ ❤..
I think I need an Orient Flash, like right now.
So interesting to see the people match their respective job titles!
Great variety and fun video. Thank you!
I would love to see the most worn watches of the more senior staff at Hodinkee
Mine was my Bell & Ross 03-92 Diver. So versatile. I teach in it, coach two sports in it, can take it anywhere and do anything with it. Basically didn't take it off all year.
That Seiko from Guy Smith... PERFECTION!
Happy New Year from Italy. Cheers
Not a Oris fan, but loved the Oris more than the others 😅
That Oris day date was really amazing.
When the Deputy Editor of "the foremost destination for all things in the world of horology" shows us her teeny-tiny long jeans ... (10:00)
Never let the missus give you a watch ultimatum. Happy 2023
love the Longines linen dial !
1:30 Guy named Guy... Now I have seen it all
Oh my god! I need that Orient in my life ❤
I’m laughing at that “Swiss made” mark on the Ralph Lauren. It’s a fashion watch.
Teddy Baldassarre point 2.
Wishing the Hoodinkee family a Very Happy 2023 - Here’s to continued success and great content - my most worn watch in 2022 was the 3861 Hesalite Speedmaster
Ralph Lauren fashion watch s tier
Great variety of watches…so cool to see!!!
Guy with that Seiko wins - honourable mentions to Jamil and Logan
Loved that model year of the Breitling aerospace.
Jamil, class all the way !
i NEED to know where Matt got that Nato he has on his Hamilton!! Looks absolutely amazing!
What is the bracelet on Alex Pasantes’ Breitling? That looks amazing!
It's off a Junghans I think, something extra we had in the back I grabbed for him lol.
That Oris was such a cool watch
David Kochanik has a great voice and sincere delivery. Would love to see him in more videos.
Gotta say. I have never liked the "two watches at the same time" look. ... .... . .. . Until now! That looks 🔥
I wonder what she likes to have “two at once”🤔
That IWC at the end was really nice
LOVE the variety ❤
beautiful vid, see you in 2023
Meanwhile Teddy Baldassare united every watch YT channel Avengers style. Watch yo back!
Big flex for sure!
Great video. Happy New Year. ⌚👍🍷🍸🥃🥳
John’s watch from his father….
Connections and witnesses of our lives.
Jamil, that Hamilton is beautiful! 😉
For me it was my 1960 wittnauer 7004a. Totally worth a Google search
Only 3 rolexes. I love it.
Seems everyone left…. 😢
Orient for the win😎
Lots of cool watches. I like the batman story. Very cool
What’s the reference on the breitling titanium with the mesh bracelet?
Speedy, El Primero, Tangente, Day-Date, 1610, 5110P & Batman 👌🥳
the staff is almost unrecognizable this year
So many great watches!
That was so nice.
Really good picks
Does Cole not work for them anymore ??!?
Correct
Love that Marie Lacroix
That Ralph Lauren chronograph made me laugh out loud
Why?
@@jeffarcher8791 maybe because it appears to have a burled walnut bezel?
Sure, it's not a competition but, uh, . . . Batgirl ftw!
Guy Smith knows whats up, nice watch
Great video, and love the story behind the Oris day / date.
Did heaton leave hodinkee?
Nice episode 👏
Omega 165.024 (1963), Heuer 3646 Mario Andretti (1966), and Omega Aqua Terra 2503.80 blue auto (early 2000s). Christmas day : JLC Reverso Shadow (late 1990s, it's my watch for Christmas). New Year (and 31 Dec) : fabulous fully patinaed 39 mm Omega 165.014 (1966).
The Longines is the most stylish, as he said himself 12:24
what is that orient? it's so quirky i love it.
7:01 I live in a tropical country and consider nylon and rubber straps are far more practical than leather ones. With sweat and rain leather straps get easily trashed.
Yeah I didn’t really get his reasoning here. Feels like a “tropic” strap would be perfect.
Jamil wins. That Hamilton is awesome. Sorry to the other contestants...
Does anyone know the model of that 1950’s Longines at 12:30? An absolutely stunning watch that I’d like to hunt for!
Whats the reference number on that Seiko?
What a great job these people have. I'm assuming they were all required to be watch connoisseurs.
Very nice diversity of watches! Thought we might get through with no hype Rolex’s…😬 almost
That day-date is not an 1803 and it has a replacement dial
🔥The NOS Zenith Defy is fire. Super minimal, clean, and unusual. Wow.🔥... oh, hey Ed! You're a hotbox! Will you marry me? 💕
David in Pricing wears a Casio.
Hmmm….!?
He recognises a value proposition when he sees it.
He’s broke and/or boring.
@@ozzy1154
So you assume Casio only makes cheap watches?
Think again..
Waiting for 2023 video
Yo the Japanese team had the best stuff in my opinion
Imma take a guess here, Rebecca provided the “Hey Hodinkee” in that feature yall used to do with Jack?
Happy New Year to all the Hodinkee staff! All over there are some cool watches with stories and sentiments attached to it, It’s so nice to see various styles in narration, videotaking , and presentation in the video by H staff.
Matt Elrod - hamilton collab hodinke watch with (flowery strap) looks stunning, where can I find the flowery strap??
I was wondering the same. Couldnt find it on the site
Where are all the familiar faces? I don't recognize Hodinkee anymore.
I like Dahmers zenith best
I know it’s not a competition but Nora definitely wins this one.
Curious, why?
@@KC-bv9kf 👀
Yeah, forget about double wristing and wear two watches on the same wrist. Can you imagine the posibilities, 4 watches at the same time...😁
Logan Baker, Jay Seltzer, Jeremy Diaz, and Jamil Harris also had excellent standout picks.
Nora is bae 😍
Oh dear.
Where is the Hodinkee legend ben clymer??
Where is Ben Clymer?
BB58 going strong.
