I always say 10,000 Days is their best album and everyone hates on me. Riffs are insane on that album. Fear Inoculum is right there with it for me though i absolutely love that album holy crap
@jindabaadarchive that's a great opinion too! Many amazing songs on that album. Liked it alot more when i was in a different place in life. Same with Lateralus. Those albums are both very dark which I'm not always in the mood for now. I can listen to FI and 10,000 days pretty much on repeat all the time. Their albums feel like a progression of maturity to me and I think that's why FI is really 90% of what I listen to now.
@cringe_person0855 well let's say if someone is trying to learn the song, and most videos of it show it played wrong, then they're not learning the song the right way. Which I saw a lot of. So it's like a breath of fresh air when someone plays it right
@@MSFTS_DECAY For real. Lateralus is the only TOOL song I skip besides their filler songs. I get it, it's based on a mathematic equation, big whoop. It does not stand out instrumentally nor vocally. If someone figured out that the stupid Macarena song held within it a code that could cure cancer I'd still think it sucked, musically speaking.
@@jameslandon4126 I’m aware of the Fibonacci sequence that is littered throughout Lateralus but from a musicianship standpoint Lateralus is phenomenal. The lyrics are so vague and ambiguous it makes you start to wonder about what you’re wondering about. I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree that Tempest is better than anything on Lateralus. It’s a great song, but Pneuma, and Invincible are better than Tempest. IMO.
Great job man! Nailed every one of them! Me personally, I have no idea how hard these are, seeing as I am a drummer, but it seems like they are pretty difficult! Rock on, man! 🤘🤘🤘
Ahhhhhhhh what is that tone man!!! I really love how full it sounds, your playing is also nice and clean! The transition from Aenima to Right in Two was nutttttyyyyyyy!! P.s. I've got a decent tone for myself with a boss katana mk2 finally, but no matter what I try..I can never get that "twang" in my tone. Like in Vicarious or Right in Two when you play that low D string (especially in Right in Two) it makes that really awesome twang sound, which I think you've nailed perfectly. I think I'll never be able to get it to sound like that. Anyway I really enjoyed watching this video. Cheers man!
And yeah that twang noise is what I’ve been missing. Makes all the difference for tool. Each strings makes that nice twang and makes it so good. What a hard tone to achieve Without breaking the bank
I really hate to be that guy but you'll just never get it it with the katana. Its great for the price, I had one and fought with it forever to get the tone too and never could with my own or others that "sound like tool!". I finally moved on from the katana and found a lot more playable tones and closer ones immediately.
How I see their music- I don't have a favorite album. I have favorite songs, and their all on every album. There are no other musical talent where I can do that with, except Tool.
try to listen to the Album "The great cold distance" by Katatonia, they're not very popular but very similar to tool in that regard. That album is one of my favourites.
People forget about him when discussing greatest guitarists of all time. He’s easily Top 50. The entirety of 7empest is a rifftastic riff-fest. He’s over shadowed sometimes by his band mates and that was his ‘hold my beer’ moment.
How did you get this tone? I see the Marshalls but is there specific pedals? Would love to know. Been dying to get a good tool tone and can never get one for under 40000 Million dollars

"everyone hates on me" lol sounds like tool fans, they really are tools. They complain so much about the band its almost like they're haters
Agree with you man
Insane matchup with the tone
props for actually playing AEnema correctly, so many people mess it up
Thanks 🤘😀

You played Ænima correctly! Nice haha

I love all the Tool albums for different reasons. Been a fan since the mid 90s. You ended on Tool’s best song IMHO. Laturalus is Tool’s Mona Lisa ❤❤❤
If it’s not Lateralus it’s The Grudge IMO.
Lateralus blows. Tempest is better than every song on Lateralus put together.

Sounds incredible
Helllloooo nurse! Imma be studying this video for a while. Good find.
excellent playing, you nailed it! Would be awesome if you could do some lessons on Adam Jones' playing style.

Can you tell me what settings you use on your Boss Katana MK2? I just bought an Artist MK2 and I've been trying to get a good TOOL tone for hours

Dang, the tone is almost dead on. I’m combining both a VH4 and a Mesa Dual Rect together and this sounds better than that :(
You're missing the Marshall!!
Yep, Marshall and VH4 is right. Never had both at the same time but separately they each sounded like 80% of the way there.
I got cheap ass NUX amp + Fender strat its like 95%
Maybe you miss a 2-3/100 touch of flanger or delay?)
