One minor addition at 6:40 : Endemol was John's own production company, named after his partner Joop van de Ende and himself, John de Mol. This was around the time that the company was getting bought up, but the company was getting bought up exactly because Big Brother was such a success, so I assume the rights to Big Brother were part of that agreement. Endemol was not really a company completely separate from John taking interest and making some sort of franchising deal. (The further fusion to Endemol Shine wouldn't happen until 2015.)

The way Amanda said “Hyper Sensitive” at some annoying girl literally bullying people based on race (and other things) and they couldn’t react back, because of their race (let’s be honest, if they did, pretty sure a big chuck of the fanbase would have eaten them up online) just shows she wasn’t that concerned. And Aaryn was disgusting and I’m shocked they let her stay on. Never seen the show, but I’d have my blood boiling at these girls trying to justify bullying like that, when it was obvious hurting other people, who in my opinion were acting mature and respectful to her. If I was there, I’d been shouting at that girl, I’d be very aggressive with my options of her as well.
And how Aaryn said, “I’m not going to acknowledge it, because it’s the biggest joke” just shows how much of a mega b she is. You know she is just a trash person and I’m not sad she got backlash.

20:35 Justin’s actions truly disturb me, not to mention when he says “we can’t sexually force ourselves onto anyone” with a smile on his face and thought the rules put in place were not needed nor should they have been applied. What gets me the most is, those rules are for everyone’s SAFETY.
With a man as malicious as him, the more you allow him to continue his acts, the more serious and disturbing he gets which is why I can’t wrap my head around the fact that the directors didn’t take him out the second he started to become verbally abusive. Just for the short amount of time of him being on that show gave him the power to act and say in complete disregard to what others might think/feel.
So many red flags within some of these individuals on the show that were in these directors faces, not only with Justin, yet every time they pull the “oh yeah! This is it!” card. They should have immediately taken some people off the show for being blatantly racist, abusive (of any kind), being creepy to other individuals in the house, etc.

One major issue you should've discussed was that the following year after Big Brother 16, there was Austin who was in a showmance, despite having a girlfriend from the outside. The fact he wasn't booed can be looked at as a double standard based on how male and female houseguests are viewed by fans. And Christine flirting with Cody isn't even near the top of the list of BB scandals. That probably got a lot of buzz because Season 16 didn't have as much other kinds of controversies and seasons prior to that. They really only had that, Frankie's comments, and the alleged riggage when Franklie won a BotB alone.

    • @nicksavagester3666

I think its a lot different scenario though. Lots of people have had partners outside the house but ended up in a showmance inside ie. Danielle Donato, Kristen bb12, Alison bb4. However it is totally different being in a showmance while dating someone and being in a showmance while being MARRIED. Being married means you are actually making a serious big life long commitment to that person. It is a lot different to be in a showmance while you are married to someone else outside the house vs just a relationship (dating).

the whole "I'm southern everyone assumes we're racist but we're just joking" is the most infuriating thing. yes, southerners do get pegged as religious small town uneducated bigots, but SHE IS WHY! and every single one of us has to confront that belief, and we have to make a choice. the choice to educate ourselves, to unlearn things we've grown up hearing, and being as anti-racist as you can be, OR you choose the side of racism, and it's just if you want to be overt about it, covert about it, or just not care about it.
but we all had to make that choice. and if you know about the assumptions people make about southerners, then you've already reached that fork in the road. it's not that she's totes not racist and was just joking and feels attacked bc everyone else just doesn't get her small town southern humor, she's just finally left her racist echo chamber and had to face consequences for it.

to the point where maggie q had a short lived show called stalker which aired that fall, basic police procedural about stalking victims, but for the tv show they one time put up the bottom of screen banner ad for stalker as caleb was onscreen, i believe he was talking to amber at the time. you also forget that guy got cast on survivor TWICE. first time was a medevac for severe heatstroke during a challenge so a year later he came back for somehow an all stars season and he was 3rd or 4th boot. this was AFTER caleb had been a known stalker on big brother.

She seems to be doing much better now and is very open about the symtoms of trauma that she experiences from her previous marriage, such as memory loss. You guys should do a video on Tool Academy, its not talked about. It was a reality tv show where america's most "alpha male" misogynist assholes lived together and went to the tool academy to get relationship therapy and get "reformed". In the first episode they literally film all the contestants cheating on their girlfriends and then make the girlfriends watch it and confront them. Obviously it was insanely chaotic, unethical, and controversial. But somehow theres like no information about it online, and as far as I know, none of the contestants even faced real life repercussions for their violence, homophobia, racism, sexism, cheating, etc

@@michaelaheasley9807The bullying was out of control on season 19. Also production tried to hand Paul the win but he was so terrible at jury management that he still lost. I think season 19 is still the worst season of BB ever.

@@heatherryan3969id say atleast 19 was kinda interesting for all the fights, but 15, was worse for all the racism, and 22 for the pure boringness that season had
