Beautiful roses and carnations, Mrs H. Very nice shave, Paul. I wouldn't worry about us feeling that we might 'have to watch' the videos. We LOVE to watch the videos. Please keep the flowers and videos coming because it most definitely cheers us up as well as keeping us all up-to-date about new and old products. Cheers, Rob & Theresa.
Hello Paul, your not the only one double chin, it’s cost a fortune to produce over the years , good though a bit of extra shaving, R41 is fantastic thanks to you I have it in my Collection, cheers to you and mrs H 👍🏻🏴🏴🪒
Hi Paul, My SOTD. Gillette black handle, super adjustable, vintage 1969. Wilkenson Sword saloon pack, 1st use. Cooper and French "Santa's Workshop" soap. Alum block. Cold water rinse and followed with "Santa's Workshop" aftershave balm. Just a wonderful fragrance from these products.
Good evening Paul! Great flower arrangement Mrs. H, well done!! I like the close shaves of the Muhle R41, yet they are not the smoothest.I wonder if the twist feels just as the 3 piece? That vintage Wilkinson Sword blade should pass the fourth shave with flying colors, it can easily go seven uses. I love to dip my brush in hot water when building a lather, an awesome feeling of luxury. My SOTD was an all British affair: 1968 Wilkinson Sword Safety Razor, aka The Sticky, loaded with a 1976 made in England Wilkinson Sword Master Chromium blade (3rd use). Palmolive shaving stick lathered with a Simpson Chubby 2 synthetic brush. Great lather and very slick. Traditional 3 pass shave plus pick-ups. Here the shave went a bit off the rails. The twist knob loosened and the blade was not secured tightly. I received 3 blood gushing cuts for my inattentiveness during the second pass. After copious amounts of styptic and a few hours of time, I continued the shave after ensuring the blade was indeed locked tight. Finished the shave with Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel toning lotion. I had planned on using the TOBS Victoria Lime aftershave, but skipped it due to the cuts. Results were not to my usual standards. Having said that, the places where I could shave properly were BBS. Overall I would rate it a sub-par DFS. I do like the Sticky razor and this is the first time I had the twist knob loosen...and those vintage blades are sharp!!!! I am delighted to see your shave was effortless and relatively bloodless. Please stay safe and healthy. Take care.
Great shave Paul!!!!!!! My SOTD is going to be the Karve Christopher Bradley Brass with the Open Comb D plate and a Personna Red, Simpson Trafalgar T2 Synthetic Brush, TOBS Royal Forest Soap and Aftershave, and L'oreal Men Birch Sap Balm to close the deal. Meal of the day will be some Ribeye steaks, mushrooms and onions, grilled asparagus, Caesar salad, stuffed tomato crowns, and homemade Sangria for the adults, Cherry Limeade for the kids. Pull up a chair!!!! Have a great day and stay safe!!!!
Hi Paul must say I’m fascinated by the R41 cannot bring myself to spend that much in case I cannot get on with it. My daily razor is the Rockwell plate 4.Used a ball end travel razor yesterday for first time and was very impressed much better than I would have thought. I am a big fan of Taylor’s and I also use the M&S aftershave after you recommended it some time back. Thank you both for your time and trouble making the videos. Keep well and keep safe.
Hi Paul- Great Wednesday shave; thank you! Nice gear, all-around. Lovely flowers from Mrs H; many thanks, as always! 💈SOTD- Charcoal Goods Everyday razor, Feather blade (3), A&E Face Spackle (unscented), Simpson’s Chubby 2 Synthetic brush, Humphreys Witch Hazel, Barbedeaux Aftershave. I hope you have a great rest of the week. Take good care and be safe and be well. See you on Sunday for the weekend shave. All the best, Paul!

My SOTD (for tomorrow) will be: Proraso White pre shave. Executive Shaving Outlaw stainless steel razor. Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow (first use). Wickham Soap Magnum. Wickham Magnum post shave balm. Yaqi Mysterious Space tuxedo brush. I've got three open comb plates on order with Karve. Really looking forward to receiving them as it will be the first time I've used an open comb, and thought it was about time I tried one. Heard a lot of great things about the Karve open comb.
This always happens to me. This morning I put a great Vetyver fragrance on. I watch your video and feel terrible as I really fancy the sandalwood now. Typical. Great video Paul.
SOTD EJ DE89 with a nacet blade, boots shave stick, boots tea tree and hazel face wash, bodysuit moisturiser a great daily shave. Creed aventus as a treat. Nice video as usual paul
Great shave. My SOTD is gonna be of the King C Gillette razor with the Gillette Yellow blade on its last use, the Proraso White soap and Skin Bracer aftershave. I got a shipment of Wholly Kaw, Talbot Shaving, Razorock and TOBS soaps on its way. I’m extremely excited to put these into use, and I can finally have a variety of soaps to choose from for every shave
Hey Paul, nice vid's! I've seen several of yours 'sporadically' in the past. You seem like such a good guy, so likeable, and you have great charisma. I must admit, we're like at opposite ends of the shaving-spectrum here. I'm 40 and have never owned a single blade real safety razor. I gave up on multi-blade cartridge razors so many years ago now for various reasons. I've been using the cheap, disposable yellow Bic single blade razors for many years now, and regularly with Palmolive shave stick (gotta love it!!), and always a shave brush to lather. But the brushes I use are usually no-name/super cheap/synthetic from places like the Dollar Store etc. Great shave every time though. Not BBS but I don't ever feel the need or want it that close anyways. Half the time I even do just one pass, and the other half just 2 passes, never more and never directly against the grain. Occasionally I even use inexpensive mild hand soaps that can be found virtually anywhere (Dove, Jergens, Ivory etc). Sooner or later I will get into better stuff altogether though. Up until now I really never bothered giving shaving such importance. I must admit though, I do get a bit of a 'thrill' by being ultra frugal/minimalist with my shaving. Perhaps that's the main reason why I always postpone upgrading to better supplies! ;)
Great shave Paul.. Lovely arrangement Mrs H as always. Love the TOBS Sandalwood scent haven't used it in a while with all my new soaps to get through lol. I have the M&S Burgundy Wood Spice Moisturising Aftershave and love it. Need to get the aftershave as well.. See you soon mate take care and stay safe;-)
Well another job well done. I need to seek these Sandalwood scents. Question: I’ve seen 1 or 2 videos on posh soaps or soaps for wedding day. What would you say are your top 3 posh soaps? Have a good one.
lol the intro music keept playing as you started talking, SOTD Arko sensitive shaving cream Black Ming Xi, blade Merkur super stainless aftershave donno yet the moisturizer arko sensitive i think, great video , shave fun stuff as usual i have the same problem on my Adams apple as you have on the mustache Area stay safe my friend cheers....Peter
Nicely done Paul💈💈 Is the R41 Twist heavier than the three piece version? TOBS Sandalwood in any form is fantastic IMO. That blade could possibly go another use or two, I'd give it try😉 Beautiful arrangement today, thanks Mrs H. SOTD: PAA Cube, Stirling "Agar" soap/splash/EDT, Grizzly Bay badger brush, ATT R1 w/Supermax Super Platinum, alum and Nivea balm...Super👍 Great video and chat, thanks. Stay safe all. Enjoy!
I've been wanting to try this soap stick, because I love the idea in theory: no waste, travel size and they're really quick (wet your face, open up, apply and lather right on your face). I've tried one of the Mühle ones (sea buckthorn, lovely scent), but the "deodorant" twist mechanism is so bad that the thing broke, and I resorted to digging out the soap, breaking it into pieces and now I use a piece or two in my lather bowl for each shave. That works too but obviously that's not why I bought the stick variant. 😂
Paul, What is happening, intro music overrun your talking intro, the lid of the soap stick would not come off, I hope the rest of the week goes ok for you and your loved ones. I still enjoyed your video, as usual. Cheers from Montréal, Canada
Can't shave today...I asked my wife if she'd accompany me into the woods and give me a fry up...she slapped me so hard my face still hurts. Guess she's not up to speed on British vernacular...

Well another job well done. I need to seek these Sandalwood scents.

Hi Paul,
Good video,
I love the smell of sandlewood, I use some Taylor's shaving soap , the one with the lid, that contains it...😎👍👍
SOTD: r89 twist with a Personna red, WCS Cologne soap and aftershave, WCS synthetic brush, and Nivea Maximum Hydration balm.
Have a good one!

Nice, I have this razor, thanks👍

I just got the St James Shave Stick and Mikes Natural Barbershop

It is heavier but just by a little .

Have you had a look at the La Toja and Tabac shave sticks? Great quality lather and no twist mechanism.
@@Semaj-dh3tt I'm well aware of the Tabac one but I will look into those. Thanks!
Yes sir!!!
Seriously, the R41 doesn't feel that aggressive to me. It's less aggressive than the Merkur Futur.
I agree. The Futur is way too bulky for me, so I prefer the R41.
Paul,
What is happening, intro music overrun your talking intro, the lid of the soap stick would not come off, I hope the rest of the week goes ok for you and your loved ones. I still enjoyed your video, as usual.

Score, shave stick 2, Paul 0 !
The marketing people at TOBS need to take a look at the product packaging. Not a good ad for the brand.
I guess this might be described as the "Highly Aromatic Shave of the Day" and completed 100% with items I don't have... So sad... :( :D
I broke my TOBS st James Shave Stick so I had to take it out and put it in an empty proraso red bowl. It wouldn’t Twist anymore
Can't shave today...I asked my wife if she'd accompany me into the woods and give me a fry up...she slapped me so hard my face still hurts. Guess she's not up to speed on British vernacular...
