All the comments on London were great, also the stubbing of the toe in the dark, great close shave, love the razor and blade combo today. Always enjoyable to hear some of the stories. Grateful to you, Paul. Thanks to Mrs. H on her flowers arrangement. Have a great rest of your week! With accents today, I thought I had tuned into Benny Hill!
I tried some castle forbes cedar wood cream and it literally smelled like cedar shavings which I suppose does smell like cedar but it wasn't something I cared for. Great shave and lovely flowers.
When in London if you want to ‘slip out’ on the family for a trip to the shaving shops - take them to Fortnum & Mason. They can easily spend a few hours exploring that store. It’s a very short walk from there to St James and shaving nirvana. Just be ready for a double hit to the bank account - what every you spend in the shops may pale to the rest of the family spending in Fortnum & Mason.
I once had some Fortnum 'Champagne and Strawberry' jam which was quite a treat. Yes, it's true I had to take out a second mortgage but I will live with the memory of that toast forever. 😜
TOBS is my favorite shaving cream. It's always informative to learn about TOBS creams that I've never used. Another one to add to my wish list. BTW, I did read that TOBS has discontinued the use of that inside lid. Regarding the R41, how does the Twist compare to the 3-piece? A very nice Wednesday shave. Plus, the usual beautiful bouquet by Mrs. H. Until next time...take care.
The first old school double edge safety razor that I bought was the Muhle R41 and my one word review is "nurse!!!" wow was it aggressive even when I changed the feather blade to an astro. I then bought a Muhle R89 Grande which was much better and much more forgiving. Great work Paul, love your videos even though I now have a beard 🙂👍
Great shave Paul💈💈I bought TOBS Cedarwood years and years ago and was surprised by its subdued scent, not strong like many other TOBS scents. Lovely flowers Mrs H, thanks. R41 Twist..another take no prisoners razor, certainly did the job. Avon was a staple back in the day, Deep Woods and Wild Country were favorites. Stirling's "Spice" on tap for today's shave, as close to original Shulton as I've found. Nice video and results, thanks. Enjoy.
Paul you must of read my mind. I bought the cedarwood 3 years ago and it’s been one of my favorites. It’s got a peculiar scent, a great one tho. I just shaved with it last week and was looking to see if you had done a shave with it and couldn’t find it. Low a behold here you are doing one.
Good afternoon Paul brilliant shave nice products on show can’t beat TOBS.I watched your London video thoroughly enjoyed it and left a wee comment also fantastic trip a bet.listen you enjoy the rest of your day and week and take care 🙂👍🏻
Gorgeous flowers by Mrs.H. Great shaving video fun stuff, Yeah its true feels like we know eachother when following a channel for a long time. love it when you go off the rails woffeling thats what makes this channel so special looking forward to every video you upload i do also follow your other channel now and again. Stay safe, cheers....Peter from Denmark
Thank the Mrs.for the beauty in the den. I have been listening to ya since017 & I often refer to you as my friend from Wales. You often get me inspired to use some of the products you review. SOTD Gillette 50s tto nickel, #2 use treet ply.blade, sterling boar lather brush, haryali shave soap. Works for me ☝️
so surprising you had not tried TOBS' Cedarwood yet! indeed it is my favourite of their production - as you say, it has nothing to do with their Sandalwood, and it's a shame they don't offer a matching after-shave.
Great post as usual. I was wondering if you could mention what brush is on the bottom shelf in the wall unit on the far right (closest to the wall). It looks big and tall and since I am a head shaver I am always interested in larger lather brushes. Again, great channel, stay safe!
"I find myself holding my R41 Twist, a tangible link to our shared experiences, as I gaze at my laptop screen. In that moment, it's as if you stand beside me, your presence palpable, evoking a reflexive embrace from me. Such gestures, typically reserved for cherished companions, speak volumes of the affection and kinship I feel towards you. And so, the question lingers: does this peculiar act solidify our bond as friends? Without a doubt, the answer resounds in the affirmative! You, Paul, are not merely a distant connection but a treasured member of my inner circle, akin to family. In this vast digital expanse, your presence is a constant reminder of the warmth and camaraderie that re-define friendship."

Like everything else, things have got smaller, the price has gone up, or is it me?
Smaller and more expensive indeed

Have always wanted to try their cedarwood soap. I’m sure it smells fantastic.

Dave you’re absolutely right.
I have an R41 and it’s aggressive for sure. I also have the cedar wood from Taylor’s and to be honest I was disappointed in the scent, or lack of💈

what a reat place to come and relax and heard some awesome memories Paul. best wishes Mr Straight razor
Cedar has a great smell, JMO. Go to a lumber yard and examine the Cedar Boards.
Great shave Paul! Cedar is not so bad it's a nice fresh scent!
Ok not my favourite, but mixed with other great 👍!
