I just realized that the second fancy set I show in this video is not JFK's, but another monogrammed set from that era. Oops!
Also, I forgot to show the 1930’s shave kit that JFK bought. Dang!!

That’s a nice shave! And a great find. Even at $140 in today’s dollars, with a case, travel brush, shave stick holder, two blade banks all made of metal.... I mean, what a deal. I believe blued steel is same as in the watch industry... It is a steel that was heat treated so it develops the natural firm layer and projecting the steel from rusting and chipping. This process is used for practical and decorative reasons in watch hands markers and screws.

I haven’t tried the aftershave, but the shaving cream doesn’t have an old man scent. It could work for a young guy like you I think. It’s certainly better than something like Axe body spray!

Hi Brian, what a great, informative and entertaining video! Excellent research work and information on the Gillette and JFK!
Do yourself a favor and don‘t put a disgusting stinky Arko stick into that tube. Instead put in a Palmolive stick, smells way better, performs fantastic, costs next to nothing and were around during JFK‘s lifetime.
    Best regards, Dan.

It really is cool that you can buy these old razors and that they work as good as new. They are also relatively inexpensive too because they are "personal hygiene" products - not something many people are comfortable sharing. What I'm trying to say is... some of these razors that are in near mint condition could have belonged to men that died from TBC, Syphilis, Small Pox or the Spanish Flu!
Was that too dark... Yeah, that was probably too dark... I apologise!
    Not really...
...trying to crash the market so I can buy a mint fat boy for real cheap.

Wow, it came with license terms stating you can only use the razor with Gillette blades. I'm not sure when our modern laws about perpetual licences on goods came about, so that may have technically been binding at the time. That Feather blade would have opened you up to litigation for damages.

I did not know Creed had a fragrance called Vetiver - i knew of their "Original Vetiver", which is supposed to be a ripoff of Thierry Mugler's Mugler Cologne - that all came out in the 2000's. Really leaves me wondering what the actual original smells like. Also, didn't JFK also use Eight & Bob as a fragrance? That's a big part of their marketing.

I'm afraid to say that if you went for a 3 1/2 or 4th pass, the razor didn't do a great job. Maybe the blade, but with a feather I doubt it.

@@ivermec-tin666 Well I must say it also depends on a few variables and the person who's shaving. In my case with a known blade it's usually 3 passes to achieve BBS, any more and the razor lacks, any less and it'll be my favorite razor.
