    This is your best video so far. Flexiblity is extremely important in Civ 6 to be a strong player and makes the game way more fun imo :)

    Hi Herson! I've been watching your videos for a while and they've been really helpful! I was wondering if maybe you could make a guide for how to effectively use governors? I feel like in the mid game after doing a standard opener with Magnus or Moksha, I always get a little lost with what to do with my governor titles and end up sitting on a bunch of them because I don't know what to use them for. I love that you talked about that to some extent in this video where you used governors that otherwise haven't really been talked about a lot like Reyna, Amani and Pingala, compared to say Magnus or Moksha, but I think it would be awesome if maybe you could go over each of the governors and talk about their strengths and what situations to look out for that they may be good for or something like that? In any case, keep up the great work and I can't wait for your next video!

      Glad to hear you like my videos! I could certainly consider doing a video on that in the future. They all have their unique niches in BBG, so I can give you a bit of a teaser now about how to use them:
      Liang is a good choice for a 2nd governor in games where you have a really good floodplains/volcano city to take advantage of her first left-side promotion, which protects against damage from natural disasters and grants +1 prod on all floodplains and volcanic soil in her city. This is particularly useful if you have a city with the wonder Etemenanki (where you're working a ton of floodplains), or a volcano natural wonder like Mt. Vesuvius which erupts frequently and would pillage all of the mines you'd build around it.
      Even Victor has some extremely niche strategies where you can go for him early. One of his promotions grants a free promotion to all new units trained in his city. There's a strategy on Mongolia where you get an early Victor 3 in your government plaza city, and rush out the Intelligence Agency building. The free spy it grants will start with one promotion thanks to Victor's effect. Then, you complete a Terracotta army ASAP, granting the spy a second promotion immediately. In this way, you can establish a twice-promoted spy in someone's land extremely early, which means it'll provide two levels of diplomatic visibility instead of one when running the "listening post" mission. Mongolia's unique civ bonus doubles combat strength bonuses from diplomatic visibility, so if the person you attack doesn't have a spy in your land at all, you'll have 2 levels of diplo vis advantage for a whopping 12 combat strength against all of their units in all combat scenarios, making them essentially a free kill. This strategy is far more popular in Teamers than it is in FFA, as it's very good at killing one player but requires investing so many resources (such as governor titles) that it doesn't set you up for success in the long-term.

    Thanks for the vid man, thats what I've been lacking this days. I already learned all the standart openings and timings so my performance is quite consistent but I still often get behind experienced players in terms of tempo. Thats mostly because I dont really know how to make use of not standard type of spawns. Looking forward for the future vids of this format!

    People used to make fun of me when they'd see me with a weird build order in certain games. Thank you for justifying me to some extent, even if my execution was otherwise fatally flawed lol

    Half the problem for me is being cognitively flexible enough to be adaptable, even though I only play singleplayer. I do regret that you don't do singleplayer guides in this format, as I think you might be the best around at conveying these sort of precepts.

    Hey, big fella. Would these tactics work without the BBG mod? Or are these more optimal just for the mod?

    • @HersonCiv
      @HersonCiv  8 місяців тому +2

      While the general thesis of the video remains true, some of the specific strategies I used here wouldn't be as strong without BBG. For instance, the governor Amani only grants extra yields on trade routes sent to the city she's assigned to when you're playing with the Better Balanced Game mod.

    Is there any civ that benefits from a preserve heavy/focused gameplan in bbg? I know egypt and teddy can get extra benefits from them from the base game and whatnot, but in your vids it looks like they do a more regular culture gameplan if they're in it. Outside of niche scenarios like this vid where you need food, do you see much benefit from them?

    It seems you recruted Magnus very late in this game, wasnt it a mistake? If he is not used for internal trade routes, then he can be used more freely to more around for effective chops.

    • @HersonCiv
      @HersonCiv  8 місяців тому +3

      I see why you might think that! Allow me to explain my reasoning for not going Magnus early. In this game, I ended up going for the government plaza building Audience Chamber, which gives extra food and housing to cities with governors assigned to them. This growth allows me to place more districts in each city, which increases the trade route yields I get from Kumasi's suzerain bonus. Because of this, I first prioritized assigning governors I could keep in one place in order to get more value out of Audience Chamber's effect, rather than a governor like Magnus who, without his internal trade route yields, is most valuable when you can move him around frequently.
      I did end up eventually getting good value out of Magnus later in the game, though! I'll be posting the full vod of this game in the near future, and you will be able to see that I used his bonus to chop out the wonder Kilwa Kisiwani.

    I like your videos, but just so you know. Every noob player want to get his preserve. No matter where, no matter when. It is not something rare for us, place preserve or I m out. When I see Inca spawn you think I'm watching for good farms or campuses? Wrong, you already know the answer xD
