I literally get chills everytime I hear this song. Being a New Orleans native it brings back sooo many bad memories instantly. I was able to evacuate but had friends that couldn't get out before Katrina hit. Thanks to all of the people who stayed and helped people to safety and for the many volunteers after the storm who helped rebuild this special city.
Same I'm from new Orleans and evacuated I'll never forget driving back into the city from I-10 it was a ghost town...was never the same still isn't the same
I was fortunately lucky enough to survive this disaster. My family ran a shelter in New Orleans.. I was 10 years old watching everything I ever known float away. I come back to this song ever so often and the memories absolutely flood back.

Alex Clown in other words: Video games brought you to this great song, wich is also nice. Ive heard it from going trought youtube's Rise Against songs. 2 different ways, same result
right ! The first time I heard music of rise against was in the game flat out 2. Since then I've been listenng to them. Otherwise I would've never heard of them.
"Help is on the way...but it never came"...This song reminds of my childhood, I still remember my 6 yr old self thinking help was coming, but 4 years came & went by no one showed up & life went on...Then I spent decades trying to piece my mind together. Nothing seemed real for a long time, dissociative thoughts even now after 25 yrs. & with all the chaos that is happening now with CoVid, Riots, Police Brutality. I just takes back to my chaos days. For some reason I feel like chaos is my normal & it calms me. When things are so-called "normal" by the world's standards & everyone is "so-called" happy & calm...I can't help but see it as just a signal that the storm is coming, with the cruel world back again to abuse.
the problem is that we live in an epicurean fantasy world - through the best of times everything is SO good that we believe the worst of times will never come. suffering isn't hard, its just that we have been made soft - make every effort to do the hard things now, so that when hard times really come around youre prepared
I hate to be the first commenter to say this to you, but that too is a symptom of trauma: not being able to relax during peace because you're expecting the worst. I experience it, so do millions of others. Many people have lived in trauma for so long they don't know HOW to live once they're "safe". you're not broken, you've just been conditioned by the environment you grew up in. I hope you're in a safer environment now, and I hope you find the strength to adjust to peace. You deserve it, don't ever let anyone tell you that you don't.
This song was damn near perfectly written. The way the music moves, the lyrics in sync with it. The imagery and powerful lines. I swear my heart races listening to it. I don't know how anyone would not be moved by this song.

Man everytime I watch this video or listen to this song I always shed a tear or my heart skips a beat because I can just picture what these people are going through and it seems so surreal all I can feel is scare and pain from trying to survive, I love everything about this.
yall have got to be fucking kidding me... I have friends of mine in the National Guard who were activated and they are still fucked up to this day by what they saw a friend of mine said "their was too many of them, hundreds of thousands of people needed our help but our helicopter even overloaded could only hold 10 people, there were only so many helicopters, boats, and people we couldn't save them all I myself was in the Army Reserve waiting for a chance to be activated to help I live in San Antonio Texas and our city bus service and schools shut down because we sent our entire fleet of city and school buses to help evacuate New Orleans and it still wasn't enough!! it was a FUCKING DISASTER! and everyone did their absolute fucking best sacrificing sleep, food, and sanity to save "just one more person" and kept pushing forward saying they were left for dead is a spit in the face of everyone who gave their all so others could live so fuck you and your mother too you piece of shit
The more I think about it, that has to be one of the most chilling feelings ever! having authorities tell you that you should stay put and don't worry, help is on the way! except it wasn't... I can't even imagine how that feels or they went through!
...the sewol ferry tragedy is a perfect example of the consequences of that. It's chilling. Especially because by the time anyone realizes the truth, it's often too late.
The help is on the way they said, but it never came. Now i have no home, no car, no job, a dead wife and living in a dark cold alley with other homeless people. Luckily it was just a nightmare, but remember, however, that you can instantly lose everything and everyone you love. So be happy for the things you have and the people who cares about you. Protect your self and those around you, the world can be a dangerous place to at times.
This song meant so much after surviving Katrina & Rita in Louisiana, and now I have a feeling it is gonna be fighting to survive Harvey & Irma in Texas...
The deep south is like the Americans stock market they are known for seafood and the cajun food and the way how they are with the alligator meats and other things as well ships coming in and out with trade deals at the docks
Gets me every time when the son sees a corpse and trips over the branches due to surprise. Then, dad, without a second thought, immediately leaps to his feet and jumps in to rescue him. Fantastic acting and portrayal of what many people experienced during this madness.
This band is special, most bands who try the message thing come off as corny (mostly country bands) but these guys not only have the sound to back it up, but so good at telling the story it gives you emotions.
I live in Houston, and all I thought when we were told to skip the attic and go to the roof was this song. Funny thing is, they told us just to sit tight and that somebody would soon arrive.
And if memory serves me right we had an American dunkirk where thousands of people answered the government's call for help from the people. God Bless all who responded
That's what they tell you because they don't want everyone to mass evacuate all at once or create a bottleneck. Only the idiots stay put. The best thing you can do is buy or find a small boat early, tie it to the roof or keep it somewhere safe fueled up and ready to go. Then when you're flooded out, start it up and get out of there. The sun beating down on an asphalt roof in summer amidst a sea of water is easily 120F and greater. No chance of surviving on a roof.
Rise against is one of the greatest bands of this modern age. Not only is their music beautiful but they're meaningful too. They mean something. This band needs more recognition!
When I was trapped in a bad situation resourceless God sent this song to me. I then knew it would be all okay. I kept my faith. This is my 1st time watching the video. Tears. God sends help even when you feel unseen! He will get You out of your predicament!!! He rescued me from an absolute monster. Praise God !!!
This song hits close to me, as I was one of almost 90,000 people evacuated from wildfires that ripped through my city. It was a feeling of 'What do we do now?' And what a relief to know that 'Help is on the way'
I met Rise Against in 2008 through a friend from Canada. The first song presented was a prayer of refuge, I never stopped listening to them. greetings from Brazil!
One year ago, South Korean experience very similar tragedy, "Sinking of the Sewol ferry". Around 300 death. Most of them are high school students. "They were told just to sit tight, 'Cause somebody will soon arrive. Help is on the way. But it never came." as exactly this song says. This song says that we must work hard to help the people who meet disaster and to prevent tragedy. We can. This song is awesome.
This will never be the same again when i return to play watch dogs :( . I usually play this song while passing through and destroying cars and having fun
Poor families that actually went or are going through this struggle stay strong, we are all equals no matter color of skin or financial status we all need a helping hand sometimes.
Helix Maren I made it out in time. My house lost some siding, some brick, and the window in my room blew out. There were some fallen trees in my yard too, but I didn’t have any water damage. My neighbor across the street from me lost his roof and my town is a complete mess, but thankfully there weren’t any deaths in my town. It was bad though. Real bad. It made landfall at 150mph and when it went through my area, it had sustained winds of about 120.

if you pay close attention you can see where it specifically talks about the BP oil spill of 2010 where 11 men died due to the explosion that's why he says 5,000 ft below as black smoke engulfs the sky the ocean floor explodes 11 mothers cry
Deepwater horizon
It references the 2010 BP Gulf Oil spill/crisis, sure, but it's mostly about Katrina fallout from the levees breaking. Louisiana, basically.
He also mentions choking on the black gold, which is oil from the BP gas incident
Yes! This song was made for us! I wish people would stop relating it to the fucking COVID 🤦🏻♀️
I do not know if anyone will see this, but Midland, Michigan just suffered a major flood and thousands of people have been left homeless. This Sunday May 24, 2020 there will be a relief effort with the help of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to help everyone in need. All who can serve are encouraged to come down to help. I will be there along with helpers from all over the Midwest. Despite these trying times with the virus, we can still go out and serve others. So please pray for these families or come help if you are able.
Hearing that song while the situation in rio grande do sul is happening....
When it finally hits at 3:01....shivers down my spine every time. Such a brilliant song and amazing video to go along with it.
You and me both.
Oh so very true, also I can;t believe this song is in the new game Watch Dogs :D
This song was actually my introduction to Rise Against 10 years ago. This track still kicks ass
I've heard this song a thousand times, never seen the video. Had a bit of a cry 10 years later.
3:25 gets me all the time
son fals in the water and dad doesnt even hesitate a moment and jumps directly after his son.
in total panic of losing his son.
this "i dont care what happens to me, i wont let anything get between me and my familie" thing tears me up man, it realy does
oh fuck I got nervous as shit when the kid fell in at the end
+Cadetri Gaming Me too man!
same
+Cadetri Gaming I do every time...
When the mother loses her photo album i fucking lose it and start to bawl. My mother takes a lot of phtotos has an album or two like the one in the video. I always imagine her losing those photos, those memories that mean so much to her and it makes fucking cry like a baby.
Same I'm from new Orleans and evacuated I'll never forget driving back into the city from I-10 it was a ghost town...was never the same still isn't the same
Help never comes. You must be your own first responder, waiting for some savior only gets you killed.
This is ONE of the MOST Powerful Videos IVE EVER SEEN
I already knew this song before watchdogs I'm just happy it's in the game. God bless Rise Against!
The song is also in NFS Shift :)
me two
Something triggers each and every time I hear you say "God Bless this place"
This is what we need more of, especially this for this younger generation.
I was fortunately lucky enough to survive this disaster. My family ran a shelter in New Orleans.. I was 10 years old watching everything I ever known float away. I come back to this song ever so often and the memories absolutely flood back.
Seeing everything happen in Florida right now, made me remember this vid.
"Oh, you know this song from Watch Dogs? Well I'm gonna be angry at you and insult you instead of being happy that a popular videogame is getting a lot of people to know this song I like, which is good for this artist I like. Alternatively, I'm just gonna tell everyone that I am a better person because I know this song from before"
Because fuck logic I guess?
Truth has been Spoken!
so u think ur better than everyone just cuz u heard this song before? thanks to watch dogs i LEARNED bout this song!
Alex Clown in other words: Video games brought you to this great song, wich is also nice. Ive heard it from going trought youtube's Rise Against songs. 2 different ways, same result
i.imgur.com/FQSDYNn.gif :)
right ! The first time I heard music of rise against was in the game flat out 2. Since then I've been listenng to them. Otherwise I would've never heard of them.
This is why I fucking LOVE Rise Against! They show us, what's wrong with the World...
What's wrong with the world? This is a video of a family experiencing a natural disaster, how does that show what's wrong with the world?
Forever That the Government doesn't give a flying F*ck about the people! Why do you think, is it called "Help is on the way"!
This is why I love this song. It's talk about the curle world.
TheRealZurkio people care but you cant help everyone.
2010platinumstar Indeed :/
Get help now.
You can be proud of yourself becauseyou survived what shouldn't have happened. You made it out alive. Take your time healing. Best of wishes !!
Those blm terrorist and antifa are worse than the police.
This song was damn near perfectly written. The way the music moves, the lyrics in sync with it. The imagery and powerful lines. I swear my heart races listening to it. I don't know how anyone would not be moved by this song.
I lost everything in Katrina so this hits home for real... The Crescent City Sleeps!!!
Me to.
Thomas White me 3
Wish they would play more of this kind of music on the radio
I’m 17 years old and I love this band! Amazing music! Hello from Ukraine 🇺🇦
Keep your head up buddy
Never knew you guys have a UA-cam channel. Your music saved a life, my live when I was young. Male survivor of abuse.
歌詞(lyrics)
I have my mother's dreams
I have my father's eyes
You can't take that from me
Just go ahead and try
The crescent city sleeps
While giants in the sky
Preparing to unleash
Let loose a mighty cry
Can nobody save us?
Will anyone try?
The bayou is burning
The cypress has died
And all along they're saying
Help is on the way (They said they said)
Help is on the way (They said they said)
One by land, two by sea, right there in front of me
Help is on the way
Five thousand feet below
As black smoke engulfs the sky
The ocean floor explodes
Eleven mothers cry
My bones all resonate
A burning lullaby
You can't take that from me
Just go ahead and try
She says that's a shoreline
With hands in the air
Her words pierce the dark night
Does anyone care?
And all along can say it
Help is on the way (They said they said)
Help is on the way (They said they said)
Hold my hand, to help see, right there in front of me
Help is on the way
Right here
Right here
Right here
Right here
Right here
Right here
Choking on the black gold
Upon which we here rely
We keep axes in the attic
To see cameras in the sky
Help is on the way (They said they said)
Help is on the way (They said they said)
We were told, just to sit tight
'Cause somebody will soon arrive
Help is on the way
They never came
They never came
Help is on the way (They said they said)
Help is on the way (They said they said)
One by land, two by sea, right there in front of me
Help is on the way
On the way
She stands at the shoreline
Two hurricanes just passed and thankfully our home was untouched makes me so grateful for what I have
Man everytime I watch this video or listen to this song I always shed a tear or my heart skips a beat because I can just picture what these people are going through and it seems so surreal all I can feel is scare and pain from trying to survive, I love everything about this.
It's not surreal when it's your reality unfortunately. 2 more storms this year already.
Choking on that black gold 😥
The father was my drama teacher in highschool lmao
Bruce Brown Jr.
legend
Katrina victims were left for dead. This video is so sad. That poor family.
Illuminati Bro Katrina were left for dead me an my family had no hope
yall have got to be fucking kidding me... I have friends of mine in the National Guard who were activated and they are still fucked up to this day by what they saw
a friend of mine said "their was too many of them, hundreds of thousands of people needed our help but our helicopter even overloaded could only hold 10 people, there were only so many helicopters, boats, and people we couldn't save them all
I myself was in the Army Reserve waiting for a chance to be activated to help
I live in San Antonio Texas and our city bus service and schools shut down because we sent our entire fleet of city and school buses to help evacuate New Orleans and it still wasn't enough!!
it was a FUCKING DISASTER! and everyone did their absolute fucking best sacrificing sleep, food, and sanity to save "just one more person" and kept pushing forward
saying they were left for dead is a spit in the face of everyone who gave their all so others could live
so fuck you and your mother too you piece of shit
You really felt the need to write that...
AlphaChocolateTruffle Yeah, instead of responding to Steven who made a great point, you decided to push your own agenda.
Stephen Gregory Thank you for wanting to help.
Amazing song, made me fall in love with Rise Against :D Such a powerful message as almost all of Rise Against's songs are.
Rise against is the best band ever
The more I think about it, that has to be one of the most chilling feelings ever! having authorities tell you that you should stay put and don't worry, help is on the way! except it wasn't... I can't even imagine how that feels or they went through!
...the sewol ferry tragedy is a perfect example of the consequences of that.
It's chilling. Especially because by the time anyone realizes the truth, it's often too late.
Help is on the way for Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul.
Mandem energias positivas para o povo do Rio Grande do Sul.
Força aos gaúchos.
This is a wonderful song about any disaster that ruins lives. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis, war, etc.
+Cory Baxter You forgot your show
+Pwn3r37 OWNED
+Pwn3r37 Cory In The House was the show. Shut your lip.
it can relate to anything you feel
+Pwn3r37 OH SHIT
I was soooo happy when I heard a Rise Against song in Watch_Dogs. I didn't want to leave the car :D
Me too xD
i know right!
You can leave the car listening the music xD
That happened when I first entered the car :D
Hahahaaha Me too!! XD
Rarely does a music video make me cry. This one did.
Still can't watch this video without being 🤬💔😭😭 and prayers for the people on Maui! 🙏🙏🙏
You are welcome and Merry Christmas.
This song meant so much after surviving Katrina & Rita in Louisiana, and now I have a feeling it is gonna be fighting to survive Harvey & Irma in Texas...
All my love
The best help is closest ones who make you rise up and be victorious.
2023 ... Still waiting for help
work in the shadows to protect the light
Closest a video has gotten me to cry. Wow.
HydroArctic watch ffdp wrong side of heaven, I came really close
that band sucks
Incorrect.
Wrong side of heaven good song, meaning and good video. I respect and support all military personnel 100%
Watch "Boom" by System of a down
I love the father in this video :D
I still like songs like this that can always come in handy for any disaster that is going on now in Mississippi is under water now
Mississipi 😂
The deep south is like the Americans stock market they are known for seafood and the cajun food and the way how they are with the alligator meats and other things as well ships coming in and out with trade deals at the docks
Gets me every time when the son sees a corpse and trips over the branches due to surprise. Then, dad, without a second thought, immediately leaps to his feet and jumps in to rescue him. Fantastic acting and portrayal of what many people experienced during this madness.
Call me a baby, but I litteraly cried the first time I saw this video on TV. May God bless you people in need out there 🙏🙏
You can always feel so much soul in Rise Against songs
Love each other no matter of skin color. 💪🏻❤️
Cajun Navy, mad respect.
Baton rouge, livingston, ascension and others august 2016
Help is ooooon the way
(They said they said)
Help is oooon the way
@@HuskyGamersUNITE I hope 2 years have taught you how doing that could get you killed?
Dirt showdown
Watch Dogs
Shift 2 unleashed
Three games used this song
Shift 2 got me here it really got me speed up in the car

We aren't going anywhere!
@@AX10S salute to you ...bless
Still listening my fellow Rocker!!
Always here
This goes down as one of my favorite songs. The guitars man. They speak to you.
How many people listened to this before Watch Dogs came out?
ME ... RA is really good ... i was on a concert of them too
it was in on game of the NFS series too
I was listening to RA loooooon before the game was out and I'd say shame that people mostly comment such way:
"I was brought here by Watch_Dogs" etc.
I found Rise Against through Savior being on Rocksmith 2014. I immediately went and bought the album.
Yup. Before Watch Dogs.

“The worst part about betrayal - is it never comes from an enemy.”
-Obi Wan Kenobi.
This song hits close to me, as I was one of almost 90,000 people evacuated from wildfires that ripped through my city. It was a feeling of 'What do we do now?' And what a relief to know that 'Help is on the way'
RIGHT HERE!!!! RIGHT HERE!!! *waving hands in the air*
Help is on the way but it never came!
That hits deep! I get water in my eyes every time!
I met Rise Against in 2008 through a friend from Canada. The first song presented was a prayer of refuge, I never stopped listening to them. greetings from Brazil!
Already knew of this song before Watch_Dogs, but this is honestly the best song in the game. :p
And "Jesus Built My Hotrod", gotta love T-Bone.
Hey, do you know at which scene in the game this song comes?
You can play it whenever you want.
GreenXLP You do realize you can skip the songs that play while driving, right? Do that until you find this song. :P
2007excalibur2007 . That or select it in the media app
Rise against doesn't get nearly enough love. One of my favorite bands since I was 12 and got into rock. They put in a dope concert too.
Remember this playing on KROQ all the time, it played so much I fell in love with the song.
They played this in Tampa alot years after on the radio. loved it
They used to play so much good stuff on the radio I miss those days
I first came in contact with this song in watch dogs
This band has two modes, rock out with the boys. And cry with the boys.
Is it wrong that this song makes me feel genuinely pissed off at the incompetence of FEMA after Hurricane Katrina?
Nope. That's the point of this song.
I was born when hurricane Katrina took place
me fucking too
Yout think Katrina is bad? What about WW2, many Jews thought someone would come and help.
+Jimmy Suros BTW there was help on the way for them yes it took long but it still happened so learn your history bud ;)
Watching this brings back do many memories I was only 5 but I'll never forget that night of August 25 2005
Katrina will always haunt me
This will never be the same again when i return to play watch dogs :( . I usually play this song while passing through and destroying cars and having fun
Poor families that actually went or are going through this struggle stay strong, we are all equals no matter color of skin or financial status we all need a helping hand sometimes.
Listening to this as I'm making final preparations for Hurricane Laura.
Hope everything went smoothly for you.
@@Richard_Stilhard I'm glad. Figured id might not hear from you. Glad you're ok.
How could i forget that music
No racism just people coming together in a time of need
Rise Against always making me feel all the feels
This song makes me cry. Every time. Not like a few tears, I mean gross sobbing.
Least you got a dope profile pic. out of it
I've searched for this song for years.I saw it in a add commercial on Vh1.Thank God I found it finally.
Still come here all these years later to remember and pay respects to those who suffered and lost 🙏🏻
Just watched them perform live!! They killed this song! So amazing
I bet it was! That’s awesome 🤩
I saw them this past Saturday!! So amazing! I can't wait to see them again. Been listening to them since I was a wee lad
