I can only somewhat agree with you there. Knowing these songs as a teenager (13/14 or so) is what showed me the world needs help. It's what got me into activism and such. These taught me about how much pain the world was seeing just like all the pain i had been going through. Will always be one of my favorite bands.

This song is an anthem. When I'm hating life and feeling fed up, this song makes me want to fight back no matter what is going on. Rise Against is one of the few bands I know of, where music and message truly come together in a profound way, and can stick in my heart. There is no shallowness in this band.

I listened to Rise Against all throughout my college days. Why? Because I agree with their message. Individuality, Non-Violence, and Morality. Everything that I agree with.
I've met Tim twice and both times he was the friendliest kindest most humble Rockstar I could imagine he held the door for me while I was getting food today and we chatted in line talking about how we went to the same schools first time I met this guy I was in middle school he rode my snowboard and hung out at a sledding hill with me for over an hour this time he held the door at a sub shop for me and we talked for about 10-15 mins real stand up dude thanks Tim! See you at the next local show! Made my day!

The gist of their lyrics in this song remind me of many of Linkin Park's songs, but as for Rise Against's use of instruments and the singer's voice, I agree, those parts are quite distinct.

I've met Tim twice and both times he was the friendliest kindest most humble Rockstar I could imagine he held the door for me while I was getting food today and we chatted in line talking about how we went to the same schools first time I met this guy I was in middle school he rode my snowboard and hung out at a sledding hill with me for over an hour this time he held the door at a sub shop for me and we talked for about 10-15 mins real stand up dude thanks Tim!
