    I also get distracted when tending to my succulents 🤣. I can’t even get out the door sometimes because I’ll get to looking at them and see something beautiful. Or I’ll see something alarming and I must take care of it immediately! You’re a true pro at succulents. I love your collection. That big mature Superbum is to die for ❤️❤️❤️

    Here in southeast Georgia USA we have a greenhouse with an outer space that is not covered with shade cloth but just plastic, then another patio with less shade. I will take them out for full sun, after about a week or two in each section!! But if you have less space, even hanging a plant (instead of simply placing it on a shelf) can help acclimate it. Whatever brings it closer to the sun.

    Another aspect of sun - shade acclimatization is the changes in light intensity that occur as the seasons progress. For example, about 3/4 of my garden changes from intense unobstructed full sun in summer to almost total shade in winter. Many of my potted plants in this area can remain in place year round and will be naturally acclimatized by the gradualness of the changing light, from full sun ,to part , to full shade and back again. But if a plant in that area needs full sun or I want it to remain a sun grower year round, then I need to move it to a spot that will continue to get full sun as winter approaches, and similarly for a shade loving plant. If a plant that was sitting in full sun spring through fall is left in its increasingly shady spot for too long it then cannot be moved directly back into a full sun location because it has been ‘shaded down’. It will need to be re-acclimatized to full sun.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  4 роки тому

      Great information! Thank you for sharing. You have a lot of different variety of plants and would love it if you could "please" do a video on this explaining the subject matter further. • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 роки тому +1

      As I've mention in the video, once you have it out in the morning sun, better to slowly give it more and more sun, rather than putting in back to where it's 100% covered. Every time it's put back into shade, you'll have to start all over again and the plant will not color up. Just be mindful that in summer, a lot of Echeveria agavoides will lose its color if exposed to full sun.
      The fastest way to acclimatized them is to place them in a 50% UV shade cloth area.
