    Thank you so much for the list of plants in the end! Some succelents look so alike that you ending up with 2 identical plants in the nursery which are different species and one of them full sun while second isn't:)

    This channel has taught me the most of what I know about my succulents! I live in the valley of California and it gets HOT! Thank you Laura, these videos are really enjoyable because you have a genuine love for the beauty of the plant, I end up watching the entire videos instead of just skipping through it. Keep it up guys! ❣️

    I live in Orange County and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to set up a succulent garden in my backyard right now at the beginning of fall season? Thank you for the inspiration queen!

    I just beheaded my aeonium atropurpureum ( if that's the correct name) because it was starting to rot at the top and the leaves fell off. I hope I've not killed it. ☹️. I love your videos. You are so inspiring.

      Achelle MT check the stem above your cut. Do you see healthy tissue? If so, keep in a cool dry place until stem callouses; then mist daily with tap water until new roots form; then plant in dry cactus mix and water sparingly until active growth cycle resumes in the fall. Best of luck!

    Great channel. I just subscribed. I live in an area where it's almost always 95 to 105 degrees. Will these handle this heat plus full sun?

    Hi Laura, I live in Whittier Ca (between Orange County and Los Angeles) I just landscaped with large pots filled with a variety of succulents. I’m new to succulents so my concern is I have full direct sunlight from morning till approx. 4 pm. It’s been in the 90-100’s over the last week. Do you have any tips for keeping them healthy from all the direct sun light? I’m watering once a week in the evening.

    My lawn care guys tell me lava rocks, pebbles, and stones will make my plants and bushes too hot and will kill them, that can't be true??? I have big blanks spots all over my back yard... I am going to try try try to do some of your suggestions and see how it goes. I live just above FL, in Brunswick GA. So many micro climates in my half acre of mostly sandy soil. I wish you lived next door to me.... oh my!

      Darlene DeMayo I think we'd both be happier if YOU lived next door to ME😂
      Dark rock can heat up for sure. Perhaps choose lighter colored rock or pebbles.

      LOL .... EXACTLY!!! *:D I would love to live where the succulents thrive easily. I bought red lava rock. Guess I'll try placing the lava rock over my red faded mulch and see how it goes. Keep being AWESOME!

      Darlene DeMayo I also have red lava rocks because thats whats available here and we recently had 104 degrees here and its only June. I'm having a lot of trial and error with the succulents.

      I have heard that also, just from a neighbor, not an expert. I read a lot about plants and such, and I believe they say rocks, bark chips, ground covers in general shade the ground beneath the plants and help them grow. It holds the water and keeps the roots cool. Also, here in Denver,CO, the rocks hold some heat for the cool nights. If we get to 85 during the day, the night will probably be 55 F. Since Climate change started, we have had a record number of days in the 90's and one 100 degree day. :(

    Hi Laura! I love all of your videos, but they don't translate easily to my funky Florida climate. Do you have any tips about our humid climate? It seems like full, all day sun cooks everything. :/

    • @LauraEubanks
      @LauraEubanks  7 років тому

      Rebecca Akridge you indeed have challenging weather!!
      Outside of the obvious; provide as much shade as possible; withhold water in humid weather; I suggest trial and error. Be prepared to expect losses and focus on succulents that work for you! Treat others as annuals and enjoy them while you can💕

    I have an 8' by 4' Or less (it's curvy) area in front of my townhouse. I want to plant succulents in the ground next year. Should I remove the stones which are there, plant the suc in the soil, put the stones back? Or could I just remove a few stones, add some succulent soil, plant the suc in that and see what happens?

    Hi Laura, one of my succulents went rotten. I watered it way to much because I thought it would die in the heat but I think it's a bit rotten. Can I save it? It seems to be a bit soggy. I put a lot of my succulents inside the house and take out in the early morning. Lot's of moving then around. Help!!!

    • @LauraEubanks
      @LauraEubanks  7 років тому

      Notary Public if the stem is black, you're sunk. If the leaves are falling off, try propagation. Set them on a tray of dry potting soil in a cool dry shaded place and must daily with tap water until roots appear. They water gently when soil is dry to the touch. Good luck!

    so I revrecently got myself an aloe vera plant. and one of the "leaves" is speckled withn purple what do you suggest I do?

    • @LauraEubanks
      @LauraEubanks  7 років тому +1

      Andrew Webber probably not a big deal. Withhold watering the soil for a couple of weeks and just mist the leaves with tap water once a day instead. Move the plant to a cool dry location where it will be protected from temps over 90F. Check the new growth in the center of the plant. Is it lime green and free of "speckles"?
      Yes? You're good to go🎉

    Why can't I water? I water my succulents once a week in the summer, and I water towards the base so they don't burn on the leaves.

    • @LauraEubanks
      @LauraEubanks  7 років тому +4

      Hunter Reese plants can go dormant in extreme heat; overwatering will rot them. Just be careful my friend😊
