I can't believe I just now saw this video! I've seen all your videos lol. Oh no!! You accidentally broke your aeonium putting the cotyledon in 😢😢😢 it's ok. So crazy to see how small the aluadiprocera is in the front compared to how big it was when you moved!!! ❤❤❤
Hi Laura . I wish I live in America. So in love with your succulents plants. I live in uk . And I started my succulent collection not long ago . Thanks for your videos .i learned so much from your video . Have a good day everyday . Love from Lee xx
My word, Laura.. You have been my Suc God for a long time. So I finally subscribed... And this summer Has been a tough workout for my garden and your simple point to protect from the heat and not only the sun Is helpful. I love your short videos - I can't get enough Craig
i love watching your videos Laura! i wonder though if you could talk more about growing succulents in different climates though, rather then just there in California where i know its so ideal for it. I live in Colorado. Ive been collecting succulents, doing fairy gardens with them, propagating, and creating terrariums with them for about 2 years. This year im trying to incorporate more into my flower/vegatable garden, but for the most part the majority of them are still inside. Any suggestions or ideas? Hens n chicks do well in the ground here, but not sure what else? Thank you!!
Hi Laura, love your work. it's given me the confidence to go out there and take control of my succulents. Quick question. I live in SF have pigs ear. They get full on sun, are drip watered for a few minutes a couple times a week and are 3 years old. They did well the first 2 years but are tall stalks that are looking really old, spotty and wrinkly. Can I cut them and re assemble them as you show in this video even though they are Cotyledon Orbiculata. It's hard to find info on this variety.
I wonder if anyone can answer my question. So my graptosedum when I reset the cuttings I didn't let them dry out like you did. I just stuck them back in? they rotted from the bottom up. What was my problem? watering them? I live in AZ zone 8, the summers are horrid and also killed two more of my succulents, crassula golem and another spiky one. I was sad to see them die. The heat almost dried out my kalanchoe but I had enough sense at that point to bring it inside. It's starting to get its shine back. :(((((
chicchick13 wait to work with cuttings until cooler weather. You can't water a cutting successfully because it has no roots. Plants intake water through their roots for the most part. Succulents rely on stored moisture in their leaves and stems to support life until a root system is reestablished.
i live in chino,ca. and i just made my succulent garden after watching your videos for 1 month. my garden was amazing for a month, but now i noticed my succulents become soggy. any tips on how to tell if its underwatered or over watered? thank you :)
Guia Valderrama soggy is a good indication of overwatering. Remember to allow your soil to dry completely before reapplying irrigation. Then just shower them gently. No need to saturate the soil with water.
Hi Laura, I enjoy watching your channel. Quick question. I live in Atlanta, Ga. and would love to grow a succulent outdoor garden in containers and possibly in the ground as well. This garden would be in the front of my home, which gets good sunlight . Would long fingers thrive well in Atlanta and if so what other plants would you recommend for my climate.
natalie tulloch summer rains are tough on most succulents which is one of the reasons we are so successful with them here in Southern California. It NEVER rains in the summertime here! Cotyledon is hardy to 20 degrees F. and will tolerate a good amount of heat. If you can amend your soil to allow for excellent drainage, this might well be a good choice. Many semprivivums, sedums, aloes and agave will tolerate your climate.
Hellotinaa...I'm with you. I think I will try container gardening at first, so when the weather is bad I can pull the containers in but for those days when I'm lazy I can cover the containers with plastic or some type of insulation. This probably can give me an idea of how to take care of them during the winter months if planted in the ground.
natalie tulloch I too live in Metro Atlanta and I also got inspired by Laura's videos. I started succulent container gardening about 3 months ago and so far they are doing good. I give them morning sun and shade in the afternoon. I do move them when we are expecting rain. I also did plant succulent in a small section of my yard (just to experiment & see how they do) so far they are doing ok with the rain we have gotten this summer. I used cactus and succulent mix and perlite mixed in as well(equal parts) so far my kalanchoe lucie, sedum, graptoveria, echeveria and sanseveria are doing ok and thriving. I still don't know what I'm gonna do this winter tho lol And Thank you Laura, you are inspiring.
gorgeous succies!!! something catch my eye behind you when in this video that gorgeous gigantic yellow-green green and orangy succulent in behind your head at the end of the video exactly when you say your name... can you talk about it... and how can you make a succulent grow sooooo big on a video
Fernanda Merino I think you are referring to the Aeonium nobile in the red pot? She's a beauty and loves that spot! I've got another planted in the ground in my back garden that isn't nearly as happy. Location, location, location😊
Sujey Martinez DON'T PANIC😂 Just set it in a cool dry place for a few days to harden off. Then plant it in dry cactus and Succulent mix and leave it in the shade. Mist with tap water occasionally but don't water the soil until it roots. Good luck!

Thank you for yet another excellent video!!👍🏼🌵.
Thank you so much for the info! I live in florida and need to find some succulents that can handle the sunshine state's sun lol
I'm from Chula Vista :D, I'm a beginner and l'm learning about succulents. I love all your videos, I learn Everytime :)
I love to watch you do these gardens that are overgrown, I would like to see how or what you do with those black blooms.
Your videos are always inspiring. 😊👌🏻
I loved the way they looked before you cut it as I prefer a more natural look but it did still look nice afterwards :)
Those aeoniums in the back. gahh😍😍

I did the same thing to my succulents. Beheaded them. Let them callous for a few days. Plant them in dry soil and they still rotted.
How often do you water that area that you just revamped AND how much do you water them?
I wish you could send those here in Florida :D
Is there a good book on succulents? So I can see what they are and what kind of Sun exposure they need?
I adore this plant, have never seen it in my city:(
very inspiring madam, thanks for sharing :)
Do you have a list of succulent that take full sun. And one list for shade.

Love your videos! What type of Echeveria do you have planted at the front of the bed you were working on?
Jeff Murdock that's graptoveria Fred Ives!
Oh cool! Thanks! I was thinking it was an echeveria Pearl von Nurnberg. I'll have to get myself a Fred Ives!

thank you so much laura. i hope to meet you someday. you dont know how much you influenced me. ❤❤❤
How do you keep crab grass from growing up into your plants?
catlady520 when I see a weed, I pull a weed. No secret formula. Just persistence😊
Laura las suculentas pueden estar todo el día al sol? O solo el ☀️ de la mañana?

Thank you so much Laura for this helpful info. I will try it and let you know. ..
natalie tulloch I live in Alabama and would love to do the same but because of the rain and heat I'm worried as well 😭

Laura what do you do with the pieces? Do you sell or swap?
I like it.
Did you remove the blooms or throw away the plants with the blooms altogether? Is Cotyledon monocarpic?
Jadrian Ejercito Cotyledon is a repeat bloomer. Bloom stalks can be removed at anytime!
This might be a silly question sorry :( are long fingers the sam e as pig ears. They have the same common (scientific) name :-?
I forgot to say Hi Laura:)
Carolina hi! Yes, both are cotyledons. The common names reflect leaf shape.
Laura Eubanks thanks Laura :)
😱😩 I ✂️my aeonium ...what am I going to do NOW?????
