I love y'all's videos because it's like watching a episode since they are so long! Love it!
+Christian Ballard Glad you enjoy long videos, it's what we make! -E
This was an awesome video! Really loved to see your daily lifes and specially "Kyde - the squirt gun cat sniper" in action!
+Mikko Virtanen Haha, glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'm a little worried about a PETa boycot with that squirt gun action though, ahahahha. -Eric
I brush my teeth in the shower so I don't have to worry about any mess. Best decision I ever made.
+Kowzorz Genius! -E
Great video guys! as always :) thank you for putting in the time and effort! Keep up the great work :D
+Bruno Hege Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed! -E
I hope you guys are doing awesome. You guys were the first Japan channel I started watching. It sparked me to really try to move to Japan, even though I am nervous about a few things, like healthcare, and not being thin enough ect. I have learned a ton of Japanese. I love how real you guys are.
That was fun to see an average day for you guys outside of the usual events and travel. Thanks for Dempagumi.inc playlist. I checked it out and it is like nothing I have heard before. It's so much different from everything we hear in mainstream music in the states.
+collectivelight YES! Dempa is my favorite thing! Glad you enjoyed! -E
Your videos are the only vlogs i can watch all the way threw without skipping! Always enjoy em.
+L.D.O.K Haha, awesome. -Eric
+L.D.O.K Haha, awesome. -Eric
+L.D.O.K Haha, awesome. -Eric
I love you two! Great video as always!
+Sue G Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! -Eric
This was a great video guys! Thanks so much for making it.
+Christy Necaise I wonder how the language lessons went at the Asian place?
+xxmightyonexx It's hit and miss, depends on the person you get paired with. But 90% of the time it goes wonderful! -E
+Christy Necaise Glad you enjoyed! -E
Thank you for a great video! It's so nice to see you go around your everyday tasks with a smile. So many people forget about that, and I honestly think it's one of the most important things in life - being able to smile sincerely in a daily life. On a side note - you definitely don't wake up too early, I would have woken up at 6, or even earlier than that. I really do need way too much time to get ready in the morning. Most of it is not being able to leave the warm and comfy house for the dangers of the cold, harsh world outside:)
+Anna Kravtsova Haha, we are grumpy sometimes too, it's not all smiles! -Eric
great editing . i love seeing your life in/on Japan !!keep up!
I've watched you guys for a few years now and I love that you guys act like best friends more then those lovey dovey cutesie couples running around all over social media. And sometimes I do forget that you two are a couple, but to see you guys kiss eachother goodbye in the morning is nice. Keep these "day in the life" videos coming..they are great.
+Jane Dot Haha, yea, I think we are more best friends than a couple most of the time. I think that part is pretty important of being together. -E
Great video as always. Thank you!
+Ingsord Thanks! You are welcome! -Eric
THATS THE DAY I MET YOU AT WENDYS! Thanks again for sitting and talking with me.
Hey dude, it was good to meet you! Still haven't made it over to Shinjuku for your recommended scary meat on a stick, but I'm still looking forward to it. Hope things are going awesome for you! If you end up back in Japan hit us up! -Eric
this is amazing. I love seeing your lives :)
+Carolynn Markey Ditto. Really enjoyed it and laughed too. Love how personal these vids always seem and it was swell of them to share their honest, real lives with us !
+Carolynn Markey Also, I do what she does with crows ;)
+Carolynn Markey Glad you enjoyed! -Eric
+xxmightyonexx Haha, thanks! -Eric
its cozy right
Great video as always! I am excited that you are going to the Philippines and excited to see the videos from there. I have been many times and it is an amazing place. You will love it!
+Boten Travel and Transport We are beyond stoked! -E
Hello Kyde and Eric, I am a HUGE fan of your channel and I love anything that is related to anything from Japan, and I love watching your lives in Japan and what it's like to live there. Keep up the great videos!
+Kyle Washburne Awesome to hear, thanks so much! -E
I really Enjoyed this peak into your Lives guys! Thanks for sharing. I have no desire to leave home but living vicarious through you two really fill that void lol :)... Time for another beer!
+Puck aNm Haha, glad you can explore through out little window! -E
Loved this video. So cool to see Eric hangs out at Ueno Park and eats at Tenya like I do when I visit Japan.
+Perdomot Haha, you gotta! -E
Omg, the ending! Hahahaha! I'm afraid that I just woke up everyone in the house because I'm laughing so hard right now!
+Jenny Johnson Hahaha.
I must say that today's video was very enjoyable and interesting. You made me miss my regular program on tv.
+TAMENE Haha, glad you enjoyed. Sorry you missed your show! -Eric
Just recently found this channel and I'm obsessed, will be playing your Mario maker level tonight...you guys are great
+Brady Flamino Awesome! Enjoy! I'm playing Yoshi's Wolly World right now! -Kyde

+Goldbar stacker Thank you so much!! -E
Yaaaaaas! Loved this vid idea :)
+Hide&GoSneaker yay! -E
Awesome videos guys!! I'm just wondering why don't you have the most subs in the world! Very entertaining!
+Amanada Haha, we are poor at marketing! -E
you switching to children section of the zoo and the drawing of the capibarra few seconds later cracked me up,eric :)
+Cristian Micu Haha, capybara bring joy! -E
This is definitely one of my favorite videos. Seeing it from two perspectives was enough for me. I realize how cool and interesting it is to just watch a closer look on what you do on your day to day lives. This was like watching a Soap Opera a sitcom an episode in a real live video game. The beginning Episode one A day in the life of Kyde And Eric. More vids like this. I'm clapping the creativity!! Great MOVIE!! real life. :)
+tyronep22 Glad you liked it! Maybe in the future we will do stuff like this again. -E
the toaster is adorable haha I just started making videos about japan too but i really like these day in the life vids :) keep up the good work guys!
+internationallyME Thanks!
Very awesome video. I loved the 2 perspectives on the same day, very interesting. Also the end was epic. In a case of zombie cat apocalypse, I know who to turn to :P
+Francisco Araújo Haha, glad you enjoyed! We have honed our cat squirting skills! -E
Super good - thanks for sharing!
+FatalAnimal You are welcome! -E
DEMPA from Akihabara to everywhere. Great video guys
omg YES.
What a sweet couple! I love your videos 'cause you guys are always funny.
+Muqui Thank you so much!! -E
You guys are legit my fave couple on UA-cam lol.
+Angie M. Awesome! We win! -E
I always wondered what you guys did when you weren't eating maccas or travelling (in a totally non creepy way of course =P)
That honey lemon stuff is so amazing when you're sick!!
That water gun cat action totally made my day
+Hayley M haha, glad that cat squirting made your day! Prob didn't make the cat happy though. -E
Very cool, I'm going to get Mario maker soon, I will have to try your level. I completely understand about the Korean food kick, everything I cook now has gochujiang and kimchi in it, my daughter hates it. Thank you Erick and Kyde I always look forward to your videos, they always give my day a little boost.
+Chris Jack Yea, give my MM level a go! Hahah, gotta promote it! Glad you enjoy the videos! -E
This is so cute. I laughed out loud the entire video :D
+Donna Fassano Awesome to hear! Thank you! -E
I would not have thought to put a strainer inside a rice cooker to cook or steam additional foods. You taught some of us something new; thank you.
Another day in the life video, please. It was interesting .
+Michelle Mundling She has become the master of cooking things in the rice cooker, hopefully soon we will have a video about it! -E
Hey Kyde and Eric, so excited that you guys are going to the Philippines. You will definitely enjoy it, especially during the holidays. Don't wanna frighten you but there's been a lot of in the news of airport workers putting bullets in travelers luggage. Travelers have been wrapping their luggage in plastic wrap. Tour all the wonderful places Philippines has to offer. I recommend Tagaytay and Corregidor Islands.
+moemoe619 haha, yea, we saw that news. No worries, we never check luggage. -E
Great video! In reference to the end where Eric was talking about his dinner, it may be a fun/great video to shoot of a "food tour" of Tokyo where you can get cheap but good food. It would be super helpful to people planning a trip to Japan or for those of us who are curious :)
+roguelinka Haha, yea, we try to just make short videos highlighting foods when we come across things we like. there is a "Food in Japan" playlist on our channel that might be what you are looking for. -E
Her name is Meredith! And its an awesomely addicting show. You are in for a long and bumpy ride.
I swear to you one of these days I'm making a compilation of weird/awesome Katy quotes
+Jaafar Kaoussarani Hahah, I'd watch that. -Eric
Watched it twice. Great to see you both on your own fun paths. Defiantly can't wait for more of these and the Philippines adventure.. Ohh hell yeah! Do you plan to learn some basic tagalog before you go? Besides Spanish its the only other language I've ever had a chance to learn a part of and i find it alot of fun!
+Dillon Papst All we will be able to learn are the little politeness phrases, luckily lots of people in The Philippines speak pretty amazing English! -E
I have a new Condo in Manila if you guys want to stay there. No one has ever stayed there yet and just finishing design.
Dale
+Dale Reynolds Oh wow. If you are serious shoot us an email, we might take you up on it! kydeanderic(at)kydeanderic(dot)com -Eric
+Kyde and Eric yes serious😀
Difficulty replying. Please email me. We are just putting in glass shower enclosure and mirrors for bath. It is newly furnished but we are buying microwave and other amenities. Hope you like it on the 18th floor. Very safe and nice area close to shopping and major hotels. Makati Area.
Dale
+Dale Reynolds I'm shooting you a email shortly. I will also delete one of your messages here so your email is not public. Thanks! -Eric

Don't...stop...making...vlogs. Sorry for being creepy 😂 the videos are so interesting and you both have such great great personalities...you guys crack me up and I just enjoy you both so much :)
+TheOneAndOnlyArysa Haha, thanks so much! Wonderful to hear! -Eric
I never thought in my entire life, I would hear the phrase "Did you see me squirt that cat" hahahaha now I have lived lol
+Archie11587 Haha.
This was pretty awesome! I got the Groove coaster on mobile.
+Edgardo Lafosse Yea, that's fun too! -E
Volunteers offering time to help foreigners learn a language isn't uniquely Japanese. I volunteer twice week teaching English writing skills mostly to the spouses of foreign graduate students at Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois.
Oh, this is too funny, I have been listening to Denpagumi INC. all week. So hearing this kinda weirded me out! XD
+Charis A AWESOME. I love them so much. Got my tickets for the tour this winter, SO stoked. -E
Great video and dempa playlist! Eric which anki pack are you using? Thanks!
+Asif Jaffer I actually just made my own. It's absurdly time consuming to make them though, and while I love Japanese I dreadfully hate making anki decks. Whoops. -Eric
Kyde's blue squirrel shirt is awesome!
Sqeaker snack check Fail HAHAHA
+readyset haha, yea, I think we got a squeaker snack the next day! -Eric
Duuuude, i love Dempa gumi inc. , great video! daily life in Japan, i want to experience that, even if it's not like something too crazy, just a normal day would be great.
+Irving Armenta Dempa is so amazing! Glad you liked the video. -Eric
this was really fun to watch =) Just wondering (don't know if I missed it), do you have a tour of your current apartment or maybe a moving vlog?
+Danielle (LePooke) We do! ua-cam.com/video/A3dM5nqby_g/v-deo.html Enjoy! -Kyde
Average calorie intake from stomach empty to full is about 1000kcal to 1200kcal depending on the person. I try to divide my intake into 500 to 600kcal breakfast. 1200kcal lunch/dinner. 500 to 600kcal supper. Total 2400kcal. If I’m short of calories in any day or too many, I regulate it by eating more or less for overall average amount to maintain body weight. Thanks for your videos.
I loved this video...! and in honor of you guys I made myself a peanut butter and jelly (with Ikea lingon berry jam)
in a tortilla. It was a odd taste but no crumbs..!! ;) Recently moved back to Florida from Austria..so I am no
longer there..but I still want to visit Japan one day and I am really thinking about selling most of my stuff
and doing a "round the world trip" like you did. But, I have to save up first. Have fun -Michelle
So Kyse, how did you find this job? I am currently teaching as an ALT, but in a few years, I would like to look for something similar to what you are doing. Thank you!!
I have been watching your videos every night for the past couple days. You guys are adorable. Enoshima was one of the coolest places I have ever seen, not sure if you have a video of you guys there. I also wanted to say my twin boys were born 1/1/2015! ^_^
+Glenn Blocher Yea, we did make it to Enoshima once! Congrats on the twins! ua-cam.com/video/NVzml0MLnlY/v-deo.html
Super video. Although I love the Vlogs of your amazing trips highlighting Love Hotels and foods Eric Won't eat, life is about the day-to-day stuff. I agree that "A Day in the Life of K and E" should become a regular feature of your channel (with time permitting). Happy Thanksgiving to you both. Can you find Turkey in Japan? How about Cranberry Sauce? Probably more difficult. :(
+Jonathan Levy Turkey can be found, but its way harder to find an oven to cook it in! Hahaha. Cranberry sauce might be a tall order..... hrm. -Eric
Awesome video. 🤗
Do you have the US channels? Is japanese TV good?
It's been 8 years, do one of these again! :)
might be time!
Kyde, we seem to have similar personalities! I also am frequently caught talking to myself, like waking up early to get some stuff done, and I'm a technical writer (editing documents and spotting mistakes is fun). I also appreciate a sweet spreadsheet from time to time. Hope it gets less rainy soon! In the meantime - get your family to mail you some rain overpants, Eric!
+cait andrews You guys are doppelgangers! -E
Love your videos, makes me want to move to Japan someday! Do you guys still live in Saitama or do you live elsewhere now?
I lost it when you pulled out the squirter gun! Pulled a 360 no scope on those cats.
+yo ma Hahahha.
You guys should do more vids like this!
Haha, it'd basically be the same now! -E
the First Kitchen near the US embassy used to be my go to place for fried chicken and they had some green ice cream like drink that was my entire life. Miss First Kitchen like crazy!
+Nick S Haha, I am so tired of going there on Thursdays. Gotta find a new place! -E
good video as always :)
+TheNerdyExplorer Happy you enjoyed! -E
So, let me sum up.
*Spoilers* :P
Kyde: Wakes up at 7:00 (sh*t!), does exercises (whyy!!!), washes dishes (well somebody gotta do 'em I guess), goes to work (bravo, on time) where she stays all day being productive, and that's it...? Oh yeah, she goes full Black Ops III on smexing cats to relax before bed time from a stressful day's work. - you don't mess with Kyde, she means business!
Eric: Is a classic anime style protag, with his "toast in the mouth, being late for school" trope, takes sidequests which may or may not involve saving the world, eats pinku bento lunches on the roof with his friends (second floor of the restaurant this time because of the rain), goes around town stealing electricity (#thuglife), school again before going to the arcade where his 2D waifu Miku-chan is waiting for him, comes back home at 10 pm and plays some Super Mario Maker... - One gotta love being Eric!! (every guy's dream life!)
On a side note, I'd be interested to see a video or two with you playing video games sometimes.
+The Kosac07 One thing to keep in mind that he edits videos for UA-cam and not everyone knows how boring and tiring this can be. Making and preparing videos is a job by itself.
+Funny Calico Cat I know, I used to do it myself and I was just trying to make a somewhat funny uneven contrast... It was late when I wrote that, plz don't judge. (;>_
+The Kosac07 I do often leave the house with toast in hand. hahaha. -E
this made my night :) thanks for the upload. also, i can't remember if you said it or not, but what is the name of the kanji app you use?
+RavenNight It's a really awesome flashcard app called Anki. -Eric
thank you!! :D this will help me so much
What's the name of your alarm song ? I really love it !
+Othmane Ait El Cadi It's just the built in jingle in Android I think.
It's almost Christmas, Eric. Get that woman a convection toaster over for her sweet potatoes! :)
+electricmonk71 Haha, no room for one! -E
the ending was pretty funny lol damn cats
+Vegeta21ish Stupid cats! -Eric
Nice video, sorry for commenting 3 1/2 years late! Kyde, in case you are still training to do pull-ups, you won't get much better by doing push-ups. It's not that push-ups are a bad exercise, it's just that push-ups mostly recruit the muscles of the chest, the front deltoids (=shoulder muscles) and the triceps (as well as the anterior chain for stability). Pull-ups, however, recruit the major and minor muscles of the back (latissimus dorsi, "lats", and traps), the biceps, and the posterior chain (abs etc.) for stability. So they're exercises that use completely opposing muscle groups!
My tip is, if you want to get better at pull-ups, do pull-ups, but with a twist. Jump up to get your head above the bar, then only do the negative portion (i.e. slowly let yourself down from the bar until your arms are fully extended, while resisting with your muscles). This negative portion of the movement is where you really build strength. Eventually, you'll have to jump up less and less and can do more and more reps. I'd always jump up slightly on pull-ups though, no matter how many you can do, cause at the bottom of a pull-up with fully extended arms, your biceps are in a vulnerable position if you pull from there.
Quick Question Kyde: When you put the dishes in the Drying Rack, how does the water drain out?
Evaporation!
The Ginza , Yamanote line reminds of the good old day same trains ).Never for one day i got late while travelling for over a year. :)
+abhishek gupta Yea, isn't it amazing? -E
+Kyde and Eric yes absolutely, haven't seen a the most complex network of trains operating with such ease , it's all there in Japan
Cool videos.FYI back and arm exercises will help with your pull ups. Those are what get utilized most on a pull up. The push ups are a chest and shoulder exercise.
+theatremusician Hahaha, I'll pass it along! -E
OOH! The band Eric mentions is the girls group in the like Drama movie: Innocent Lillies or Shiromajo Gakuen! Thank you so much for the name of the band, I love these gals!
+Ellestril Yea, they are awesome! -E
I think you could steam your sweet potatoes partially first (which would be faster than your dry pot method), then finish them in your stove's fish broiler, to give them the roasted flavor you are looking for. I think that's how that fish broiler is supposed to be used, just to give it a little crisping and browning after being steamed. Or if you want to still use your dry pot method, you need to get a heavy cast iron dutch oven type pot, which will act like stove top oven (which is where the name came from), because the heavy material of the pot walls will absorb the heat and radiate it back into the food within the pot. Do they have small toaster ovens in Japan?
+Gee Ell ahh, good ideas! They do have toaster ovens, but we don't have anywhere to keep it! -E
Hello! I know this is an old video but I like to re-watch it to get to see what it's like living in Japan, and I'm wondering if Kyde's job is to correct English grammar, or Japanese grammar? Love your guys' channel! 😊
English, of course! Hahaha. -E
i heard you mention going to a Japanese Library.
Is there any difference between a USA vs Japanese Library?
+furteberstein .highergey Yea, all the books are in Japanese. Hahahahahah. also, they are kinda...dare I say...crummy compared to American libraries. Just not bright and clean like you'd expect. -E
Holy crap. That cow toaster (4:38) is so cute! Haha
+William L Hahaha, we laughed so hard when it arrived in the mail! -E
+Kyde and Eric I think the fact that it spits your toast out makes it even more charming. Hahaha
What other types of Japanese music do you like?
For example
Re Re by kung fu generation or flow by school food punishment
Or would you consider that to jpop?
+KOSAMA GAMES (コドバリノ) Honestly not much. I like some underground punk bands (Seventeen Again is a favorite, A Page of Punk also comes to mind) but as far as pop goes Dempagumi.inc is by far my favorite artist. In fact at the moment they might be my favorite musical artist all together! -E
Kyde and Eric When I saw them I knew they sounded familiar cause I have the Punch Line song on my iPhone lol
CS:GO = cat squirt : gun ownage...... what a great way to deal with that problem, loved the video as always. Thanks for sharing a day with us!
+Mung Hahaha, stupid cat!. Glad you liked the video! -Eric
Dude, old people sleeping in newspapers in the park is something that old people do in Japan? The shit you guys give us insight on js just hilarious and I am addicted to watching your videos because of it. And Eric you are 6'7 holy shit, have you thought of any good comebacks to people that gawk at you over there? If so id like to hear them😁. Love u guys
+shelbysilver1313 Haha, people look away when you notice they are looking at you. Very Japanese. People ask me how tall I am all the time, but it's no different than when I'm anywhere else in the world. -Eric
+Kyde and Eric I have noticed that the Japenese seem to be very polite. I am now on my third lesson of japenese and I cant wait to speak fluenty.
+motherofaheartwarrior Yea, they may be some of the most polite in the world as a society. It's pretty shocking for us to go anywhere else now and be faced with any level of rudeness. Haha. -Eric
cc lemon was my jam when i got sick in japan
+Adrian Guerra For real! I love it! -E
hey eric what is the name of the conjie flashcard app I would love to try to learn conjies don't know if I am spelling that word right
+madmax76097 I use a flascard app called "anki". -E
Thx for replying
Got my postcard guys, thanks.
+John Doe Awesome! You are welcome! -E
great idea!
+Emil yeee (Lucent) Glad you enjoyed! -E
Great video as always. How about more cooking vids to fill the time between travels? I've been on a Bibimbap kick lately. I've also used a pump up squirt gun to chase off neighbor hood cats that congregate on our porch.
+LocoJoe Haha, squirt gun brothers! -Eric
Great episode :-) Kyde, you gonna love the first 3-4 seasons of Grey's Anatomy, then it's just downhill and cliff-hangers ;-)
+Paul Komarnicki Glad you enjoyed! I think she might still be working through GA, but I'm not sure. She has a pretty high tolerance for bad TV, haha. E
Kyde and Eric me too and still watching thanks for some weird sentiment
That was a nice video. Thanks
+ghaida h You are welcome! -E
I also use alarms to keep me on task as I'm bad about losing track of time. I came from a mother who took hurry up and wait to extremes, and I hated that.
So from what I've read and learned. people say it takes usually about a year to become fluent in Japanese if you study regularly. Would you agree? I know Eric still takes a lot of classes, how fluent would you say you both are? As a student about to study in Nagoya I am very interested in your experiences with learning the language!
+Ricky Martin Haha, hard question to answer. Defining "fluent" is tough, but by a loose definition I'd use I'd say actual fluency in a year is impossible. You will make progress of course, but you are learning what is seriously one of the most (THE most?!!) difficult languages in the world for a native English speaker. From my observation people who move here with very little Japanese ability don't become conversationally comfortable in less than 3 years or so, even with a regular study regiment. Of course people with previous language learning experience or access to a 100% Japanese language environment will learn faster, but the *average* time to get to comfortably conversational (not "fluent") is about 3 or so years. It sounds insane right? Check out the US State Department's estimation. en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Language_Learning_Difficulty_for_English_Speakers
By the way, I don't say this to discourage you. I say this so you have reasonable expectations of your progress. But who knows, you may blow the roof off the house and learn super fast, I have met people who have. Just not many. Good luck! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric Thank you! I'm definitely not discouraged and I really appreciate your honestly! Love the videos, you guys are awesome (:
Is there like a tall/thin shop for clothes Around Tokyo/Yokohama area? I'm not at your level but I am about 190cm. I keep ordering stuff from Old Navy America because of the tall factor.
+Charles Wagner I dunno, I never buy clothes. There are some shoe shops for large sizes in Tokyo though!
Kyde and Eric OK thanks anyways!
Do you guys have any tips or suggestions for learning Japanese?
+Rowan Daae If you want to self-study a fantasitic book series is called "Genki." genki.japantimes.co.jp/index_en
"Its no a problem" I like your thinking Eric!
+AnimeStarwind Haha, thanks! -E
I envy your routine xP sounds pretty cool
you guys live in otsuka!
I like ramen shop Hopeken, near the station.
did you try?
+松下克宏 Have not eaten there yet! I will try it. Hopekenの日本語の名前は何ですか。 Googleで見つけません。-E
+Kyde and Eric
日本語だと「ホープ軒」です、とんこつのチョーこってりラーメンですね。
near north gate of otsukaです、yellow sign の。
+松下克宏 Ah! Yea, I know that place. I ate there recently, it was good! Seems popular! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric oh! you tried it . ホープ軒is one of oldest tonkotsu ramen shop in tokyo.
I am looking forward to something good ramen shop video!
The cat/squirt gun part was hilarious.
+cronicjointpain Haha, she hates those cats. -E
Kyde and Eric
