I'm trying to get into rock I mean like I know I like it but I want to know more information which bands do I start off on and I like classical rock but I enjoy metal I guess sorry if Metallica ain't metal I'm not sure yet feel free to tell me but I enjoyed some metallica songs but I think I'm a just a bit more interested in the classical rock genre like led zeppelin I have heard like another song from him but I have struggles on what albums I should hear which I shouldn't stuff like that

I was 16 when this came out in 1971. I was born at the right time musically. I'm glad you enjoyed this song, I love it and must have listened to it thousands of times in my lifetime.
Fun Fact: This performance was filmed in 1973... Almost 47 years ago. Could have been filmed in 2013 from the quality.

This was a performance at Knebworth in around 1975. Greatest band ever. Bonham died in 80' and they disbanded. Can't believe I've been listening to this for 40 years.
Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band - ever! Their rendition of, "Going To California," is pretty incredible too - check it out. No drums, but it has acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals.
You don't just love them, you have give them their soul and they will never give it you back.
Hopefully this will open the doorway to a new path on you're musical journey in life. You'll never look back.

Led zeppelin is one of a kind band in music history
“And as we wind on down the road, our shadows taller than our soul” zep (stairway to heaven) nobody writes like this anymore.
To bad alot of zeppelin music they plagiarized...
ugly but proud muddy waters. Any songs they did from other writers...(about 8% of their catalog) they changed so much and created all new progressions and melodies and bridges and breaks and intros and outros and mid sections and time changes and different chord patterns and vocal styles etc....that they were really writing almost entirely new songs from those other writers core songs. The only bad thing is that they didn't give credit on the album sleeves to some of the original composers. Not good but...hmmm.
Philosopher 007 there used to be a sense of a Creative Commons- that all artistic expression is based on the foundations already built by others. Just check out how many singers would all release the same song within a year or two in the jazz and Motown genres.

Was in high school and it's funny how we're not deaf. We would listen to music on huge speakers on loudest setting. I was16 and had 4 older sisters so was introduced to wide variety of great bands! Was lucky enough to have seen so many groups live! Led Zeppelin was on top!

Michael Whitton I would say react to the studio version 1st then the live version. Both are great but it shows how different they are live vs studio. She’ll really understand their talent even more!

This is my favorite rock band, no question. You have to check out the studio version also, this song is considered the greatest song and solo in rock. The Studio is very different than the live.

I watched some 70's horror films 😊 and some songs like imagine,let it be by john Lennon and I listened to queen
Roberts voice is up there as one of the greatest.. in that video 73.. is when he started to loose it.. listen to the studio version.. his voice of phenomenal.. he had surgery on his throat in 74.. didn’t really get it back till 78..

I am loving that younger generation as yourself starting to appreciate classic Rock such as Led Zeppelin whom I have been listening since I was a kid in the 70's, now I am in my mid fifties. You know some of musicians that have listened to at your age saying classic Rock influenced in their music. As you know that Rock came from Jazz and Blues. Members of Led Zeppelin stated Blues influenced them in their music.

The Song Remains the Same (1976) is the best rock documentary/concert film ever made. Queen is another legendary British rock band from the 70's that you'll probably enjoy.

I was fortunate that I grew up during that period, it's funny we did not realize what was taking place at the time, it was just what was happening. It is great to see generations since discovering it, makes me realize just how great it was..Thank you!
There was so much music out there and really good music, it was also the time that FM radio hit the air with much better sound and signal quality then AM, which made it enjoyable to listen to music while cruising in your car, before that with AM, it was barely tolerable.

Thank you for the reaction. Led Zeppelin was a hard rock/heavy blues band but they also had acoustic elements, funk, folk, ethereal sounding stuff, and, one could argue, bits of prog rock. If you want to learn more,I suggest you start at the beginning and go in album/track order. The name of their first song is called Good Times Bad Times. Cheers!
