This is a video to supplement an article I posted on my blog at the aforementioned link.
Basically my own personal take on an EDC bag for my own lifestyle. Primarily in an urban / suburban role, but transitions to a (remote) shooting range.

I posted a comment about a year ago but I wanted to follow up. I just finished my build / loadout on my Maxpedition Lunada tonight. Like you I have a trauma kit on the exterior and a first aid boo boo kit on the interior. Good video and a nice EDC kit sir!

Some good ideas here for my needs as I build my first edc bag and am introduced to general edc principles. I like the small waterbottle idea, extra batteries (but ill probably carry aa/aaa's), microfiber cloth, cologne, emergency cash and trashbag. Thanks.

I carry the same bag but without all the craziness going on the outside. It might make you a target in public. perfect bag for hunting, scouting, ect..
Nice vid. I'm an exterminator and travel at the very least 150 miles a day. I'd like a bag like this and would like some advice on what type I should get exactly and what items to keep in there! My daily carry on my person is a buck knife, COAST inspector light, keys, belt. I also carry a handheld computer ( for work ) and a ton of paperwork in the work truck. Thoughts?
awesome EDC bag, I carry roughly the same thing on my bag. i have it set up as a second tier to my EDC items i carry on my person. It's a bag that i have in case i jump in my girlfriend vehicle or someone else's vehicle. my EDC firearm is a Kahr CM 9mm pistol, in the bag, i carry a spare Kahr CW9 and carry 4 spare magazines. that's the only difference between our bags.

Great Review!!! Happy to see you have a ITS Tallboy ETA Trauma Kit Pouch, I'm just curious to know if the Fatboy version would fit flush on the Lunada. Appreciate you talking about the contents of your EDC gave me a few ideas I can go with.
+Jonny Midnight The Tallboy has two columns of PALS where as the Fatboy has three. Since the side of the Lunada uses only two columns, the Fatboy is going to be 'offcenter' one way or the other.
nice setup;well thought out gear. My only negative comment though are the cable/zip ties behind the moral patch section.
I have some in my bag but I keep them in the rear mesh pocket because they tend to get caught on things and you end up losing them.
I guess that as you keep this bag in your vehicle, its not really an issue for you?
Nice, mine may see bit anemic compared to yours... Water, bandages, granola bars, more water and a knife. I just leave it in each car.. the water and granola have gotten me out of a couple low blood pressure hot summer days.
Great bag. One idea though. Since you're already carrying CR123a batteries, you could swap out the cellphone charger you have for one that makes use of CR123a batteries Duracell makes one and a couple others do as well. It would still be backup power for a phone, etc, but without having to regularly charger another item.

I'll probably do an update. I still carry this bag in whichever vehicle I use for any given day. Although, I think I'm just going to create a second / duplicate kit just to have similar gear in each vehicle. Originally, the idea was to have on singular kit that can be moved easily, but at this point, I think I am willing to just spend the extra money for stationary gear.

o0oitzJimmy I’ll consider it. The funny thing is that I don’t really have a all inclusive range bag right now. It’s more of, throw all my crap in the bed of the truck and head to the range.

Two is one and one is none. Redundancy isn't bad as long as it's important such as fire methods and knife tool. The whole concept of overpacking being negative really only applies to long distance endurance hiking when five ounces feels like twenty pounds after 1500 miles. Edc bags don't fall into the category where I see everyone trying to one up the video makers edc bags after watching a hiking documentary on Netflix and think they know something about something. "That multi tool isn't necessary asshat...you have a knife already duh...bear grills told me so."
I hate to be critical but this is not a EDC bag, idk many people who would actually want to be seen with this out in public (readily identifiable med pouch?) outside of a gun range or innawoods. Buy a bigger bag. People don't notice jansports. People do notice a bag with shit hanging off of it (especially that nifty FAK)
Theres a little too much redundancy and needless stuff. four knives, 3 of which have belt cutters...and a belt cutter and trauma shears. yet 5 ounces of water. 2 flashlights (one should be a headlamp if anything), 4 pens/markers.
+Rusty Shackleford two is one, one is none. unless i missed one (entirely possible) only 3 knifes not 4, one of which is a swiss army knife, so more a utility tool. he doesn't carry the bag around with him, it's stored in the trunk of his car or in his truck. i agree that a bigger bag is better than hanging stuff all over a small one, but have no issues with tactical looking gear. couldn't care less what the public may think.
as a city person, he doesn't actually need to carry any water he'd be better off with a four way sill cock key and he could use some lock picking tools, otherwise great job.

Always with this unecessory amount of knifes. One knife is enough, just bring plenty of water. (At lest 2 liters per day) but i guess thats not as tacticool

Good stuff! Best part of these EDC type videos is that we are all different and all of this is personal choice (haters gonna hate, right?) I saw the good and the bad comments (and the trolling). I am also into the other type of shooting (Nikon on my end and some MF film). I have much of the same gear, but some of the items you have here, I have in a range bag (mainly the trauma kit-gotta keep up that TCCC training. Oh, your last name sounds familiar to me..prior service?
You've got some weighty duplications. I think a trauma kit ,or First aid, should have a tiny headlamp. I'd distinguish between a vehicle bag that stores stuff that are really just for emergencies, and an EDC bag that carries stuff that might be used every week.

Yes, I still have the Lunada. This bag is still being used as an EDC 'vehicle' bag.
Hey could you help me by telling me some items I could put in my bag because I'm a starting prepper and I don't have much gear but got any cheap recommendations
I don't consider myself a prepper. My own personal goal for my EDC is simply to have some core, general utility gear on me that fit within my lifestyle. All I can say is define what you need the bag to do for you, and then just flesh it out from there.
Seems like you repeat a lot of items that serve the same purpose,yet you want to switch out a flashlight to save a minute amount of weight. Seems to me you just want as much stuff as possible just to show off or something.

Incog Incog it's mostly because it's a big city, to reduce crime they're pretty strict on weapons. Pretty sure in New York or Chicago you can't really carry a 4 inch folder either

I live in Florida, it is a great state. The knife laws are vague. When you do move here, make sure you apply immediately for your FL CCW license.
