As someone raised in NYC and now living in the Seattle area just a little advice. Except for the water bottle keep everything inside the pockets. That Fenix would be gone in a crowded sidewalk in a second.
When I'm out, I don't carry a bag, any kind of bag. When I stopped carrying a brief case after 50 years, that was enough. Now, if it doesn't fit comfortably in my pocket, it's not with me. This goes regardless if I'm going to the gas station, or if I'm going to the top of one of the mountains around here. I really like traveling light and unencumbered. Based on 65 plus years doing that, it works for me.
i had that same bag in this video. i hiked the ozarks with that bag. now it's in my car. been using it as a edc bag for over 2 years. never had anything go wrong with the bag yet. and i actually use the bag everyday.
I bought this bag, and unfortunately intend on returning it. Although it is from Walmart, I was very impressed with the bag itself. The compartments are all designed to be opened with the bag hanging onto the side, which you mentioned in the video, and that is very nice in itself. I certainly felt that I got my money's worth. Unfortunately, the biggest draw back is that this bag is definitely not intended to be stuffed to full capacity. I have a 13'' mac book air, and a few notebooks I bring along with me to school/studies, in addition to a stethoscope and other small items for work, and have found myself wanting more room! I think the bag is perfect if you only have a few items. It works even better when you have mini organizers placed within the compartments, as shown in your video. The bag is comfortable, small, and I love that it has a water bottle holder attached already without any need to buy a molle add on. It is a slim sleek bag. The way you have this bag organized is, in my opinion, the best way to use this bag. For anyone thinking about buying this bag, keep it minimal just like this video and the bag will make you very happy. If you need to stuff it with clothes, laptops, college rule binders/notebook/papers, look elsewhere.
I use the 3V gear Outlaw sling bag which looks almost exactly the same. I use it for a get home bag and have a wide variety of items for urban, suburban, rural environments as I am in those areas everyday. I think the 3v gear bag is a little sturdier and better padded than that one. It was $39 on the 3v website, more expensive actually on Amazon. It has a lifetime warranty too. If needed, I would carry this pack like a fanny pack in the front and hve a larger backpack on my back for a real bug out situation. That configuration would allow for the ability to carry more with better weight distribution
+Panda Cockwad I wish! Unfortunately, I'm just a guy like you that makes up a fake name and trolls comments on UA-cam in a hopeless attempt to make myself feel important and special.
Thanks for this video! I appreciate that you didn't go overboard with your edc. I saw that pack in Wal-Mart and was thinking of getting for the same thing. Now I'm going to get it and outfit it like this. Thanks again.
I use this bag with my maxpedition edc pouch. Two things. 1) Don't expect it to hold a lot of stuff it's small and not very roomy but when I'm on my bike it does just fine. 2) If you buy it you should pick up some adhesive backed velcro tabs. Many of the pockets are horizontal and adding an inexpensive closure mechanism keeps your stuff from falling out. For the money it's not a bad little sling bag.
Very thought -provoking. I use a real basic EDC belt bag on one side ( Usually under a jacket so not a fashion accessory) with a roomier shoulder bag on the other side with room for a laptop, clothes, water etc and a third option of an small backpack which can fit more BOB type gear. All black, unobtrusive.
I like the see through cases on the inside so you can see the items. I agree off body cary is not preferred. I use a Maxpedition Remora Gear Slinger with the universal holster in the back. It;s small and doesn't have the water bottle holder but it does the job most days.
The knives really bother me. Two MAX (If someone else needs one to help, or you break one). Flashlights? Meh, One good one one little one. spare batteries.
@@feboober He says this is just an out and about urban edc bag. Two torches and spare batteries? Really? What eventuality might demand that level of illumination? Especially as phones already have that function.
@@zoehancock if you're working with an apprentice you probably lose one flashlight. and batteries for obvious reasons. batteries also for multimeter 9v. you learn from experience to have these things.
i love simplicity in an urban pack. in an urban environment you're going to have access to a lot more stuff then if you get stuck on the side of the road.
another great bag to start with would be my my EDC which is the 5-11 Moab 6 and 511 Moab 12 he's six I use as a range bag and the twelve I use as an easy it's a single arm sling pack YKK zippers the whole bit Moab sexy Lake 60 the 12 hour is 80 last time I checked
i just got a maxpedition remora,, still getting it set up for hiking/atv riding or just out and about,, like you, i ain't going to go crazy loading up things i won't need on a daily basis
Huh! We have very similar load out. Flashlight in exact same place. Cables, same. I wear multi tool minis. Yup, Eat 'n tool. (Orange) Lol, same " Anker" pack. No zipties tho. Great bag! I know you said it wasn’t a bob bag but I really would recommend at least one protein bar, city map, and a carbon filter mask because you never know..
Lots of these type bags on amazon for 14-17$ I've had a couple, make sure when you buy it if your going to carry on left shoulder the strap isn't designed specifically for the right.. Many will be adjustable for both but not all.. The nicer one I had wouldn't but I found one for 14$ that's awesome.. Several under the name g3 but they are all different you have to look closely at pictures and specs
Nice bag I also found a decent sling bag on wish shopping made fun for around the same price that is military grade material in different colorors that have a flap for better water proofing if interested also love the channel hope you get better soon and keep up the good work
Its really all anyone needs. Id love to have a gun, but in my area, its virtually impossible, so I exist fine without one. But the tools and gear all fine, and the bag is cool. Feel better!
