The best singer. I've seen him in concert 22 times. True country.
Great!! Waylon would be proud.
Kayte 0207 meatloaf
I was watching Imus the morning that Jamey was introduced to sing this song. Prior to that time, I had never heard of him. Now, I have heard this (great cover) song countless times, plus all of his others. A fantastic "country" singer.
Great music nobody does it better than Jamey Johnson , and the guitar player is Wayd Battle check him out on myspace he also has some good music.
This version needs to be rereleased. It is so well done in that country genre. Meat Loaf would be right up there singing with him.
Agree one thousand percent.
@@lootent-dan and Jim Steinman on piano! Have to include the song writing genius Jim!
It’s that painfully slow delivery of this song along with that wonderful steel guitar. Beautifully done!
I fell for him when I heard him sing this song...love his soul.
Good stuff Jamey. Real Good.
Imus loves this guy, and why not.
Damn just saying Real music needs to play on corporate radio
Love him!
I love love love this song. sing it Jamey
Very nice.
I'm a big Meatloaf fan have been for year's but I have to say I love this performance, I will also say however I doubt anyone else could have pulled this off other than Jamey
I really love his music. What is up with the guitar player? He just seems a little intense don't you think?
Fr guitar player looks high as fuck
RED BULL AND VOLKAAAA.
What is up with the guitar player
Oh my gosh. ....!!!!
there's a left handed guitar player in the band! nice!
give it away singer George Streight,ACM & CMA song of the year
I got my game on- ladies love cowboys singer Trace Atkins
His own songs 2009 ACM & CMA song of the year "In Color"
The Dollar
Rebelicious
High Cost of Living
Playing the part
...
I agree;)))))
RIP Meatloaf🙏🏻
Where is Wayd now?
He stirs my soul.
jamey johnson does it great but well said by meatloaf classic song
504 out of 15 aint bad
Really you appeared on fox. Do you think they really understand you?
I'm sure they understood him perfectly, since he's not a self-entitled libtard.
lupoduce HAHA. Sweet.
Meatloaf meets country... good cover
What's wrong with the lead guitar player - Trying out for the circus?
He's stuck in a time capsule from the 70's (I should know - I remember the 70's).
Sherry Walker if you remember the 70s then you werent living the 70s lol
Ah, but I was only a young teen in the 70's.
I'm a child of the mid 70's and early 80's. I loved it from Meatloaf, but man, gotta say...Jamey gives it a whole new meaning. I think he definitely does it justice in the country genre. The way he sings it, I forget its even a Meatloaf song. For those haters who say some songs shouldn't be re-made...keep an open mind. I think it depends on the artist, not the song.
Im a Meatloaf Steinman fan and I think this version is cool...better than the Bonnie Tyler dance version...
I am not a fan of covers but agree Jamey nails it .. he covers 4 walls of raiford also and manalive Ronnie would be proud if that one even
Outstanding version!
Steinman was heavily influenced by country western music and definitely would have approved.
Also...that lap steel is sweet!
Edit: There's and interview w/JS on YT where he says that this was written with country influence in mind.
April, we lost Meat loaf this year. Jimmy Buffett is in, disrepair? I knew Meat's version, but this one, well, sounds solid in my soul. This, and, certain other Meatloaf songs, Remind me of younger days. I am knocking on 60, however, I am still young at heart sis!!!!! I hope you are as well. Peace, John. Humbled.
Jamey is one of those you just want to go see in a smoke filled, beer, mix drink bars. I love his music. He will be marked as a great one.
I haven't found a Jamey Johnson performance I didn't like. The man is an AMAZING TALENT!!!!
KimitrustGod Divine is this same Jamey Johnson got his start on the voice when he was 19?
He is amazing too by the way I would go anywhere to see him anytime
It's a different one. Jamey's been in Nashville for years. He's written songs for just about everybody in Nashville. He is also a USMC veteran.
So much like actually living on this modern day. Where nothing is guaranteed to be the same tomorrow.
KimitrustGod Divine yeah he's awesome 😂
always liked this song, but I don't think I realized how pretty it really is till hearing this version! Jamey Johnson has so many great videos on here. Blown away every time!
I'm not sure if there is a more powerful and genuine voice in the music industry today.
There is. Chris Stapleton.
Chris Stapleton isn't better than JJ sorry
Nate F.
Cody Jinks IMO
Also would love to hear a collaboration between them...
Dell Sykes Music i would love to hear a vocal duo with Jamey Johnson and Cody Jinks!
Robert Johnson they have played together. some live videos of them on youtube . i hope you find them because its prettt badass
One of the few REAL country artists out there.
This song always had a little country-feel to it even when Meat Loaf sang it, the writer of the song (Jim Steinman) said he always heard it as country song.
It's a REAL country song, for sure. I would love to hear Meatloaf's reaction to this cover. Pretty sure he'd like it.
Heard him say that in a Bat Out of Hell documentary, and obviously it works.
@@thomassparks8294 I wonder if Jim Steinman heard it too
For whatever reason, I just recently started listening to Jamie. Mostly I guess because I had given up on country music. Every time I hear something from him that I hadn't heard before, I find more reason to like and appreciate this man.
I have been a huge Meat Loaf fan since I was 12; I'd have to say Jamey took this song to a whole new level!!
Jamey Johnson... Chris Stapleton... Aaron Lewis... the best there is!
Don't forget Cody Jinks
I second cody jinx... also BlackBerry smoke
Aaron Lewis isn’t anywhere close to being in the same league as Jamey and Chris...
Aaron lewis sucks, hes not country he was just starving for money, you wanna hear the best there is? Listen to BLACKBERRY SMOKE!!!!
Yeah, George Merle and Buck....good things come in threes friend
Best country music singer alive.. To me that is
I agree!
Johnny Cash and the rest of the Highwaymen would be Proud of Jamey for keeping the roots of country alive, Even George Jones would probably have good things to say about him, One of my favorites, considering some of the new stuff that is showing itself.
Ken Adams He is good friends with Willie and Shooter (Waylon's son) He even played Johnny's part in 'The Highwayman' with Willie, Kris, and Shooter. Did 'Keepin' Up With The Jonesin' with George in it.
Meatloaf
A great song. Performed by that wonderful voice of Jamey Johnson. Keep singing to us country man......
Jamey your one of the great ones coming to keep country alive. we love you. Semper Fi.
This is a really good cover of an old Meatloaf song, Jamey Johnson is really one of the best in today's country music, I really wish this was played on the radio.
great rendition of a Meatloaf classic...wtg...love it
Best artist to hit country music in 30 years!!!
Jamey has writen more #1 songs than you will ever know. I think he put a lot of heart in this ... and every cover he has done.
Jim Steinman, who wrote this song, said he originally thought this would make a great country song.
Jamey has a way of taking any song and making you live it... Incredible
Man I thought it was great with meatloaf did it but wow this guy is absolutely a vocal genius and I can't wait till Jamey Johnson and Chris Stapleton do one together
Jamey has the perfect voice for this song.
Good One! Gotta love the guitar player on Jameys' left too :)
THIS IS A GREAT VERSION. JAMEY JOHNSON IS THE REAL DEAL. HE WOULDN'T HAVE EVER RECORDED THIS IF DON IMUS HADN'T ASKED HIM TO DO IT FOR AN IMUS RANCH FUND RAISING ALBUM. RIP IMUS. A RADIO LEGEND.
How I missed this, I'm not sure. This is incredible!!
I think Jamey Johnson is awesome! My husband listened to him all the time before he passed away. Lead me Home was played at my husband's funeral. Jamey can sing songs by other artists and I really didn't care for the song until Jamey sang it!
Only the great Jamey Johnson could turn an old Meatloaf song into a legit country song! This is REAL!
One of my favorite songs. How on earth did I only first hear this. My favorite from Bat Out Of Hell, one of the first two rock albums I ever picked out for myself.
And I adore Jamey!
1) I thought Danny Bonaduce stopped smoking meth. 2) I never knew he played a right handed guitar upside down. lol Regardless, Jamey is the real deal. (Hey Danny....its called understated)
i have loved this song all my life but after so many years hearing the song. this version made me realize again how a song delivered from the heart. still brings a tear to the eye.
he hit the nail square on the head. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. 1 out of 3 is pretty shitty though. ha ha.
He had me at "Baby" - i swear what a sexy voice!!!! Love me some Jamey
soulful southern man, love him
nice cover version of a meat loaf classic...
Jim Steinman (the writer) was heavily influenced by country western music and definitely would have approved.
Also...that lap steel is sweet!
Edit: There's and interview w/Jim on YT where he flat out says that this was written with country influence in mind.
he is one of my most all time favorite...
Makes me think of xwife
never really liked this song till i heard jamey sing it now i love it
Wow! Never thought of a country cover of this song!!!
Jamey Johnson one of the best
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
did a cover of it too.
Watching this video and what a great voice and i like this version. I almost feel like he's going through this as he sings. I know that aint thhe case but wow.
That's a pure country music voice
oh man it need no words to describe this song
2024 and I still listen to this and Jamey Johnson's music. The best out there!
An awesome, but very unexpectedly different, performance of a Jim Steinman song (previously recorded by Meat Loaf as mentioned in other comments). I am not generally a country music fan, but I do like this version of this song.
Chris Sekely
There is no doubt about the meaning of this song when Jamie performs it. A real heartbreaker.
With Meatloaf we just heard the song. With Jamey, we feel it.
@@thomassparks8294 ....
If you didn't "feel it" with Meat Loaf's
superior original, you're not alive.
@@nashburnette7247 don't get me wrong I'm a huge Meatloaf fan. But if you listen to the lyrics, it's a straight up country song. Not this bro country crap that's all the rage in Nashville. I mean a REAL country song.
Wow Jamey hey this song is bad ass, thanks.such a cool song . Hey stay safe out there .
if it weren't for captain creepy there this would just be perfect
Yeah that guitarist looks like hes flyin on a big ol bump of crank some kind of meth for sure
Jacob Rinard When someone creates music, it's to be appreciated on a musical level. He's not dating your daughter. He's trying to capture the feeling of the song, which they all did. Why so negative?
klbax63 you would not know that if u want doing it
he ain't no cover - jesus - that would be like saying Lynard Skynard was a cover band for Call Me the Breeze for JJ Cale
That is a ridiculous comment.
If it's not the original version,
then it's a cover version.
I don't care how good they both are,
they are not the originals,
so Jamey Johnson's version of
"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" and
Lynyrd Skynyrd's version of
"Call Me the Breeze" are covers.
One of my favourite songs, and meat is still my favourite - but man this is great, I'm a fan. Excellent voice, and excellent arrangement - brilliant.
Yup I like this version.
✌😎👍
I love this. So good. Play it all the time. His version of Crazy is also one i can't stop listening to. My male favorite country singer. Female is Lee Ann Womack. Yous gotta listen to their duet Give It Away. It's awesome.
Axel rose stunt double look a like.. lol, otherwise these guys are really good and such a classic hit song
The saddest thing about this song is seeing that i could have bought Amazon stock for $137 share.
Love Jamey Johnson and this song though.
The words are the same and the tune is familiar, I KNOW it is a Meatloaf song However, this version just seems more heartbreaking than the original. I really like it. He did a great job owning it and turning it into Jamey Johnson song.
this is a James Steinman song, made popular by "Meat Loaf"...
Jamey makes every word of this song hang there for like 5 minutes it seems. It's almost like he's reading it to a classroom out of a book for a lesson except his voice is phenomenal. He completely stripped down a song that was pretty much already stripped down. You absolutely hang on to every single word. I've heard Jamie do many versions of cover songs he does a great job on a lot of them but when I heard this one I said there's nothing Jamie can't do. Such respect to meatloaf by the way he did this. Thank God for Jamey Johnson for bringing integrity to traditional country music and never half-assing anything. And thanks to the late Don Imus for asking him to do this. Simply simply brilliant
When did Danny Bonaducce start playing guitar for Jamey?
I loved this song from Meatloaf but Jamey Johnson crushes it!
Don't let your meat loaf
The best version I've ever heard
It's not bad, but nobody will ever
beat Meat Loaf on this song and
to say otherwise is just plain dumb.
@@nashburnette7247 you’re being biased. Jamey owns this song. Meatloaf can’t touch him.
Meatloaf version was awesome and it was the original version so he'll always have that. But when you listen to Jamie's version you hear every word because it hangs for like 5 minutes every word. When you listen to Meatloaf's version you just tend to hang on to the chorus. But with Jamey you hang on to every single word. He does it so good that you don't even disrespect him by singing along you just listen and let him do his thing. A true masterpiece this is.
@@cjkopp1185I think Meatloafs version is great but the more subtle approach of this works really well
I could have never left him on a stormy night, a snowy night, a clear night, a hot night..well you get where I am going. All it would have taken is one look from those enchanting eyes.- roll tide
Shae Parish Roll Tide
Jamie is good. Stapleton great also. Both get props. Wanna hear some real country ? Go listen to Fred eaglesmith.
Love this 💖
Wow. This guy is the real deal.
awesome job Jamey, but who is the dancin' rooster wearin' the bandana? looks like he tryin to steal the show.
Wish I could go back to that day and buy some AAPL and AMZN
great singer he's like a young David Alan coe
he's a song writer like the guy that wrote the meatloaf tune Jim Steinman Jamey Johnson just can sing too and is one of the best writers out there
He owned it.
Is the guy with the bandana tweekin? He's a little too into it for how super-mellow the song is. LOL
Very nice country cover.
hey stranger I hope you get to see this. we knew each other years ago. It's so nice to see you. I am really happy for you. I know you are really busy these days. It would nice to here from you again. I love your music.
Meatloaf wuz betta howeva this guy be smooth!
Good blessings for you guys.
Some of the finest pedal steel playing I've ever heard !!!
Wow great cover of this song. Never heard anyone take this one on. I love this song. Thx for the post
