Oh my. That brought tears to my eyes. We should all be extremely thankful that God blessed us with the talents of Alabama back in the 80's and with the talents of Jamey Johnson today to carry on those traditions with his song writing and singing. Thank you Alabama and Jamey Johnson.
In 1996 me and a cousin went to a weekend concert. It was called "County Fest" it was in Atlanta, GA.
We watched many big names that weekend. Alabama ended the entire concert with this song. We got to the car and headed back to Birmingham, AL. Just across the state line in Heflin, AL. I dozed off. We flipped 5 times. 3 times rolling and 2 times end over end. The guy behind us got off at the next exit and called 911. He told them 2 guys just died on I-20. The car was destroyed. I wasn't wearing a seat belt my cousin was. We both had talked about that last song and how we felt our late grandmother's presence during it. We both walked away from that wreck without even a single bruise or scratch on us. It was like our very own miracle. This song will forever have special meaning to me😊

Same here. I can't help to think of my parents. This song was played at my dad's funeral and my mom's. They was amazing parents, loving, kind, and good hearted. Always willing to help out others. And if I would bring a friend home, and there was supper on the table. My dad would always say get some supper boys. Lol. I miss them so much
I am not a fan of cover tunes, but I think Jamey did an awesome job with this tune, my ultimate favorite of all of Alabama’s tunes. In my opinion there is no better way to honor an artist or band than this. Perfectly done thank you Jamey and thank you Alabama for a tune that is just so wonderful.

Jamey is a true artist...he could have been a popular superstar, follow what the record companies wanted him to be. He walked away, did, and does, things his way. In the spirit of the music outlaws before him. If anyone ever asks what real talent is, point them to this video...or any Jamey Johnson song. He is like Willie, Merle, Waylon and Kristifferson all rolled in to one.

Seen them in Seattle finally after listening to them my entire childhood! They asked if there was any special requests toward the end of the concert. I was in the 3rd or 4th row and there was an opening up to the first 2 rows. I threw my hands up pretending to drive then 10 fingers then 8. They played it and I cried!! Never did I imagine I'd ever drive one but I do now. Long live Alabama's members and music!!! They will be with many of us till our last breath!
Mississippi girl here, became a huge Alabama fan and joined the fan club at age 9 or so...lol..thinking back on that so long ago.... They helped me get through some tough childhood moments. Still a huge fan.

When Randy Owen sang this at the funeral of the late great Dale Earnhardt Sr. in 2001 after his accident at Daytona, it just set the tone that you knew the grace of God blessed thousands of folks that day, after the loss of such a great person. It made the loss understandable. Well done sir! And God bless Alabama,🙏

I have loved Jamey from the first day I heard him. Saw him twice. He's real & an old school country singer. He always pays tribute uses to singers like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Vern Gosdin. He's a true country singer & outlaw.

His voice is so pure and true. He can sing anything and it sounds amazing and so effortlessly.
How blessed and lucky are we to have a god that loves us unconditionally so much that he gave his only son to cover all of the sin stained worlds wrong doings and still give us eternal life.
