Seen him fly this a few times and every time it blows my mind.
Die BO 105 ist eines der beliebtesten Helikopter
have had to pleasure to see this in person
I had an unpleasant encounter with Chuck, a resident of Spruce Creek Fly-In in Port Orange, FL. I was working on repairing drywall in his house, and the person who hired me assured me that it was okay to park my texture rig near the door on the lawn so that my hoses could reach inside. However, when the homeowner, who had a handlebar mustache, arrived, he became very angry and started verbally attacking me. I tried to apologize and explain the situation, but he refused to listen and continued to insult me. Eventually, I reached my limit and responded angrily, using inappropriate language. In a hurry, I swiftly gathered my gear and departed, as the homeowner menacingly threatened not to pay me under the false accusation of damaging his lawn. I took several pictures that say otherwise. Clearly, this person lacks honesty. Remembering my mother's advice about distrusting individuals with two first names, I couldn't help but think how accurate she was in this case.
Great story and enjoy watching helo aerobatics. Question, do all helicopter pilots have that big ole walrus mustache?! Cause everyone I see seems too. Keep on flying!
I don´t know what is so special about the rotorhead and the composite blades!? Every BO105 has them! I´ve read aninterview with Rainer Wilke
watch?v=VY5uPlRcAX8
and he did not say anything about modifications....
By the way, he does a salto forward!
Don't take him so serious. He just said that they beefed up
Tail section and changed CG for long term airframe integrity and ease of aerobatics (he is flying longer version of Bo)
It would be nice to fly with this guy.
@SheepJumpFish
Dude, thats exactly what I was thinking, the Lynx is world famous for aerobatic ability.
All I can think of is that the Lynx is not manufactured anymore maybe?
@SheepJumpFish i was thinking the same thing.also the flight envelope that he's working in is very tame, in my mind aerobatics is about making the aircraft doing cool stunts and also making the aircraft do things that it shouldn't normally do.
probably he choose this Bo 105 over the Lynx because the Lynx needs 2 pilots to be flown ,one always checking that the machine is always within the limits. i doubt that the Lynx is as nimble like this one is due to the fact the lynx is much bigger and has more mass.
Karl Zimmerman carried out the development work on this aircraft for the German Army in the early 1980's and regularly flew complex aerobatics at airshows throughout Europe during that period. What modification did this need for Red Bull?..........
Because this is a longer version (BO 105-CBS) than the one that was used in the German Army. You can recognize the CBS by its extra window behind the sliding passenger door. The CofG of this version - made for the commercial market - is more forward than in the original BO 105 (C or CB).

@aviator147 nice man!
How much for one of those rotor heads? I'm guessing $250,000
it's a secret??? lol ya right. all you did was buy and strip the aircraft so it's lighter.
Rainer Wilke is much better than him.. BOO ya :D
