  • Red Bull is famous for extreme stunts. In this risky 'plane swap' stunt, two pilots were supposed to swap planes mid-air. Unfortunately, only one pilot was succesful while the other aircraft crashed. Both pilots are safe.

🟡 Two extremely lousy pilots. Period. Okay, they messed it up because they did it for the clicks and a couple of thousand bucks. And that's the reason why they are lousy pilots. They are totally unprofessional. The two hot shots are proud enough to show us how stupid the are (sorry, guys) : BFD. And why the .... would you do something like that, jumping out of a perfectly working airplane? Are you bored oder just ... slow? IMHO you guys are lousy "pilots", indeed. Oh, and the lousy excuses at the end of the clip... priceless.... jeezzzzz. Amateurs.

It's tough enough to watch for all the planes flying horizontally let alone people and things falling vertically in this airspace though the jump planes do announce when a jump is in progress. Also despite what has been written about the area being remote, this area has several ranches, farms, a prison, and a few subdivisions near the Eloy airport. The pilots had parachutes. The planes had tons of engineering done on their chute systems and speedbrakes. Tons of money and planning went into making this happen, money that supported the American economy. I have no doubts that their safety plan passed the insurance underwriters scrutiny. The FAA had no place to block this while any fool can fly up to 17,500' in a paramotor without a single lesson or understanding of airspace.

There’s making history and then there’s making meaningless history. This stunt was the latter. You can jump out of one airplane and into another. Umm, ok cool. I guess we needed to know if it was possible, just in case we were given a special mission or something like that. And since it’s RedBull, they did this to further humanity, because that’s what accomplishing this important stunt will do. Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do something without money, free time, and a wild imagination! You too can accomplish something historic.

Wilful non compliance of the regulations. Pilots should always be bound by rules & regulations in the interest of public safety. I find it incomprehensible how people would consciously disregard regulators for the sake of video likes & channel subscriptions. Especially as mentioned above that the FAA has continually denied the waiver to do this stunt.
My advice to aspiring pilots would be to stick to videos that help you get & most importantly retain your license. No stunt will ever be worth losing your license over. We already have so many possible stumbling blocks that we hurdle to continually practice the privileges of our license.

I'd like to see the elevator position while the brake was out. The brake would cause a huge pitch down moment that would be difficult to counteract. I only fly RC planes and could tell you this wouldn't work.

I thought we learned from Trevor Jacob! This was incredibly reckless, I mean what if he got shredded by the propeller?! That being said, I will admit it did look pretty badass when he climbed into the cockpit to recover the nosediving plane, but still...

What if what if what if what if what if what if we just stopped over thinking and did amazing shit. The guy was willing to die in order to do something nobody has done before, they live and breathe this, it's their passion and the way they wish to live their life. He knew the risks and if we would have died it would have been sad but a risk he signed up for. Government and people alike are way too into protecting people from their own choices these days. Take some risks or why live at all
