I like how all the alphas have the same shape because you only have to shop for features, rather than buying the pro grade camera because it feels nicer.
Here I am watching and drooling, but my heart dreams of an a5 series for us mere mortals haha. Although imagine if someone tells panasonic that auto focus has been invented. Then I think we will see someone able to trade blows.

Corporate product naming is hilarious, they always pick the most epic-sounding name with no clue where their lineup is going to go from there. Like where does the Sony Alpha 1 go next? The Sony Alpha 1 II?
Even USB does this shit. USB used to be “Full Speed” at USB 1.0 and they had nowhere to go from there. So they went to High Speed, then SuperSpeed, then SuperSpeed 10gbps, then SuperSpeed 20gbps.
Why don’t these gigantic companies that know full well they’ll be releasing a new product next year bother future-proofing their naming?

First of all I would like to say that I am drooling about this camera.
I sat down to think about it and I realized there is not a single picture shown that I don't think I can take with my current A7RIV or A9. Don't need 8K. Thank you for all the information. I'll probably buy the 135 GM and save some money.

I don't know why Sony is so hell-bent on sticking to the compact body for the A9 and now the A1. Maybe it's easier to strap this body to a gimbal but if they've got the A7S series and the FS line of cinema cameras it's completely fine to just intergrade a battery grip. Cannon guys have been shooting video with the 1DX for years anyway so it's not as if people aren't used to it anyway
Is it worth it ? If you are an amateur like me, it is not worth the price ! Only professional photografers know better! Personaly i would pay this amount of money to learn the skills and the technics of photografy!
A74 is(if it does exist) going to be a baby version of this and something i can afford but with 24MP sensor. lets wait and watch!!!

You can turn off that beep before the photo. I did on my A7rII at least. I don’t think too many creeps are spending nearly $10k on a creepshot setup, if they are, they have telephoto lens and the beep is irrelevant.

Do remember, Kai, the sensor floats in that IBIS camera, so the vibration you feel prolly has no effect on the image.

I want to understand this one question : Why does EVERY camera manufacturer think that all photographers are right handed?
They don't. But the number of left handed people is way way to small, especially in contracting tiny niche market full of brands barely staying alive which is the camera industry, for them to even think about spending what would be millions on designing and retooling to manufacture left handed bodies.
Sony always bad at naming , Well take a look at Sony's smartphone naming scheme.

I seriously don't get people endlessly complaining about "grip". Like what is your perfect grip? If they make it large, the bloggers will complain its too big, too small, vice versa. You do realize the entire premise of a mirrorless system is the reduced size of the entire unit. Why then would a manufacturer make a gigantic grip? If you want a massive DSLR they already exist. Is the camera falling out of your hand? Are you dropping your camera because the "grip" is just too small and slippery? NOO!!! The grip is a grip. Get a grip and move past endlessly discussing "grip" sizes of these cameras.

lol shade at Flickr at 5:50 Kai. Love it. Flickr used to be great, it's now SHIT. Cancelled my flickr pro account 3 or so years ago. Smugmug has no idea what they are doing and have ruined what was once a great photo platform.
Menu system is not as good as Panasonic DLSR's, but EVF rocks. Though not far from Panasonic S1H Kai. Two baby Kai's in the background?!
sony's nomenclature reminds me a lot of another Japanese brand, Yamaha. They did the same thing with motorcycles R3>R6>R1 in order of expenses and performance...doesn't make any sense.
we know it's not up to snuff until you get 120 fps at 8k, right? Who cares about the still image, right? Oh darn, that rolling electronic shutter ruins everything.
why that stupid filipping screen ; for 7500€ and they couldn't put a screen that we can rotate, so you have only to shoot straight else you can't see what you shoot if you put the camera a little high on tripod or have a small space where you can't be behind it ..that is really stupid for that price -_-

I'm calling BS about the clicky burst demo: the 30 FPS is for the electronic shutter, which is silent. So Kai must have been using the mechanical shutter, which tops off at 10 FPS. The LCD demo is more representative.
The mechanical shutter is a little loud compared to the R6, which I own. I can't feel the R6 shutter either.
All said, the Alpha 1 has outstanding capability.

Z9 is better also a thousand dollars less with a vertical grip integrated in the body is amazing.
Bruh vibration is because the type of shutter it is to be able to achieve 50mp FF 30fps photos
