Comfort is also what I'm looking for in a partner, where I can feel safe & secure, especially after a trauma involving a man who had made me uncomfortable. The experience has made me into someone who has a highly sensitive "uncomfortable radar".
I see people have bad relationships here & there today, yet I have seen people with good relationships from the era when relationship counselling wasn't a thing. I can't help but wonder what people did back then when things got difficult in relationships🤔
All I really got from this video was that if you are open, able, and willing to work past bullshit and listen to one another, you'll be okay, but be warned this will take practice with yourself, because it will take emotional regulation and pattern recognition to keep up with yourself and the needs of your partner. For reals, many say this lot and change their mind. My platonic friend is not helping, she said friends and now she jealous. I think she might have a crush on me or dislike me going someone before being relationship with her.

If you have a partner that isn't focused on reality, unless they're upset. That usually leads to a turbulent relationship.
A lot of taking. Your partner bossing you around. But if you slip-up one time (no matter how small), they start becoming focused on "getting you back."
It's one of those reasons why some people become disillusioned with the dating scene. And decide to look for love overseas instead.
The family trauma thing mentioned around 4:15 is something that hurts me big time as I am also affected on a friendship level.
I'd be happy to find a partner who is loyal, shares the same interests, is fine with me being a quiet person who however enjoys time with people he really likes too. Basically most things mentioned in your recent video about introverts seeking for love.
But I never really learned how to socialize and having multiple traumas also with a ex scares the thing out of me when even considering to be with anyone.

I broke up with her yesterday. She was every red flag and didn't have any of the greens. I put up with it for half a year, I feel used, disrespected, I feel like I shrank more than I grew, the worst part is none of it lead to her growing at all or changing her frame of mind as a person. 28 year relationship failed... I'm done with love, relationships, humans in general. I've gotten very use to being alone and this is how it'll be until I leave this timeline. Perhaps in my next life I'll either find something to last a life time or just remain alone.

Emotional, Stabity, loyalty, honesty kindiness responsility, respect, compassion commitment trust loves me for me faithful have something in common and willing to things together.
I once heard about a difference between spark and purpose. A spark is something, that makes you enjoy the moment. Thoses are the things, I believe, people don't need have in common to love each other. The spark needs to be respected, but doesn't have to be shared.
If taking care of plants relaxes me, then that doesn't mean my love interests needs to water any plants or otherwise care for them. But he does need to respect, that there needs to be space for plants and the needed gear (pots, water can and similar). If he has a hobby to tinker with something, I wouldn't feel the need to understand what he does in detail, but I would feel the need to let him have a workspace for it. I may ask about what he does and admire the result, but it probably wouldn't be such a big deal if I wasn't invested in his hobby.
With some sparks, it's a huge advantage if the hobby is shared. Basicly when the hobby does take up a lot of time, space and/or moves by itself (like having a pet of any kind). Because if it's expensive or such, it has a huge potential for arguments. But since the spark is something for a person's self-care and emotional wellbeing, any demand to let go of this, is very problematic. A shared hobby means this argument is less likely than arguments about how the hobby is approached. Still not that great, but less problematic from my point of view.
The other part "purpose" is basicly the path you are walking in your life. It's connected closely to the core believes and values. And any argument about such a thing, is either a disagreement about the "how", or probably likely to blow up. Maybe even both. The purpose is something, the partner should feel invested in, in my opinion. If they do share similar values, it's likely that this will happen anyway. I don't know if it's really a problem, if one person isn't invested in the other person's purpose, but I'm sure being invested in such a thing, is a very green flag. It helps a lot, when the person you spend the most time with, encourages you during the difficult times on your path. And it will help a lot in the relationship and for both people, to have somebody supportive along. The pair can basicly grow together in a similar way. Skills being opposite is also something that is probably more helpful than not. It doesn't change the motivation to support each other on their path, but it does change their abilities to do so.
I’ve been dealing with the fact that some people are interested in me both sexually and possibly romantically, but I, myself, am not ready for a relationship right now because I am still trying to work on myself and understand some of the struggles that I’ve been dealing with ever since I was a child.
To make things more complicated, I identify as asexual and as greyromantic. People don’t understand how I view relationships and what my needs are.

I'm doing every thing I should to find true love but these things never work out for me. There are things in my life I can't control like going to jail for a crime I never committed and put in a situation where I have no choice but to admit to doing it or go to prison for it. That leads to financial issues. It's because of my legal issues I can't get the job I deserve. I have to explain my legal issue to employers and that sends up red flags despite me being honest about the situation. If true love means having to be honest with that special someone then I'm willing to do that and that's another problem. I get yelled at by that partner and that is what ends the relationship. Most people who gets to know me think I'm not being honest about my past and want nothing to do with me. I have God as my witness. He knows was honest. I must face the fact. I am a big time loser and there's nothing I can do about it. Only my mother, my sister and my brother care about me, and let's not forget God. He's my hope and inspiration.

Eh, I just think that everything about me is unattractive, especially my hobbies. So far crushed pretty much all of them which helped a lot with my self worth and probably other people's too especially if I find a lover, they won't see me as a weird, nerdy weeb. Alcohol helped a lot and continues to do so, think it would be better to spend all that money on addiction rather than pointless video games or collector's items, plus unlike that stuff it made me a lot more confident and prone to anger in case if someone was asking to get lashed out at. Better than therapy because it helps me to wash away any negative feelings too. I know I'm gonna get the comments to say to seek help or anything like that but so far alcohol never left me or backstabbed me. And hopefully with becoming enough of an alcoholic I will become a lot better accepted and in a better mental state and less weird than I was before I started heavily drinking

@@misterbobby8913 in hindsight, now that I've studied narcissism for several years, about a decade now, I can see the red flags from day one. The isolation and stalking. But this disorder has only been in the light about a decade. 40 years ago people weren't talking about it or warning against it. And a request from him that I not talk to others about our relationship was passed off as just wanting to keep things private. Not as a way to hide abuse. We trust and believe and hope.
