That is right up there with the worst possible openings and advice... you absolutely 100% do not want 2 lords and armies early game with a 50% cost upkeep increase. You also don't want your ethereal lords defending your base turn 1. You also don't want to gift other dwarf tribes 2.7k on turn 1... Maybe on easy difficulty this works but not above.
The volley fire tech increases reload time for rangers CA....
I raised this several days ago in the support forums and received no response. Rather funny that they even mouse over the technology tool-tip (5:38) and it blatantly shows the -15% reload time reduction ha and then they click on it for research...
yeah I noticed that too, has anyone tested that to see if its just a typo or it really does make rangers shoot slower?

You'reThatMantis When you research it the missile damage stats go down (as it measures damage over a 10 second period).
"Make as many trade agreements as you can" - you mean like 4? You cannot trade with more than 4 factions as clan Angrund with the current trading system. We need the underground caravans implemented, not just tech named after them with 5% trading income.

I love you CA, you've done an outstanding job at this game! Just bring us better sieges and more mechanics that deepen the gameplay. I'll gladly pay for that.

I wish that Karak eight peaks would become their capital. So can trade more when you to get a trade port an link it to you. now you can only trade with three or four faction for hol campaign because you don't have many trade points.
I wish Al Bickham, who did this video, did all these videos, he's by far the best voice.
I wish that karak eight peaks and karaz a karak looked like actuall karaks like Erebor from the hobbit
Warhammer isn't Lord of the Rings.... c'mon.... they look like they've been described and previously illustrated in Warhammer novels/art.
I mean...sort of? they sort of look like how they are previously described and illustrated, but they are always background dressing, we've...never actually had a proper karak battle at all in TW:W, its one of the biggest disappointments of the entire game thus far honestly.
Eldrad Ulthran I don't know if it's the biggest disappointment... I mean it would be pretty cool... but realistically (yes I know.. realistically in a fantasy setting... shush), breaking into a lived in/guarded Karak would be insanely difficult and take forever haha. I think everyone would complain about it either being too hard, or being not hard enough.
Maybe we need a little extra campaign thats about invading a Karak?
The66Hammer That could be pretty cool. A massive battle where you either defend or siege one.
A tip I that I would like to point out to anyone struggling with this campaign is that those ghosts, aside from being powerful fighters early on also have wonderful abilities of the Agents that they are! The Thanes improve public order by 5 per turn (the effect does not stack with multiple Thanes, mind you) which I found to be a necessity to stop rebellions and the Master Engineer reduces the cost of construction by 10 (and later upgraded 20%) which I found very helpful early on when struggling with money.
This makes me wanna buy it. Keep it op CA!
I can't wait for the tomb kings to be added, it will be nice to have some undead with actual archers.
When will the production of a different Total War begin? I'm already excited for the Era it is going to be in. Let's hope it is Historical.
So I did beat the long campaign goals but there is one grudge that is only semi settled. The lvl 15 engineer. But I have my ghoastly engineer on lvl 30 and it did kinda count that. The penalty is not rising, but it does not count as done either. Do i have to lvl a new engineer to lvl 15 again? that would be painful
I wonder, can you confederate the dwarves as clan angrund? Or somehow join the dwarves in a union, so help unify all the dwarves under one banner? Or are you locked as a minor faction with some epic karaks (in this case Karak Eight Peaks) as your main powerbase?
when will the second game come out or when will more races come out?
@Total War Is there gonna be a 250,000 sub celebration or vid? Something epic?
By the way - the tech VOLLEY FIRE is bugged. It increases the reload fire of the rangers instead decreasing it. I hoped that this would be fix but two weeks CA didn't do anything...

Is there any ideas for another Total war game based on ancient China?. Particularity in the Spring and Autumn period where Sun Tzu was born.
I noticed that a lot of factions have been displaced with this, why is that? Originally the Necksnappers had Karak Azgaraz, and the Crooked Moon held Karak Eight Peaks, since Karak Azgaraz was the Crooked Moons capital I assume they no longer own it, in which case, what faction has Karak Eight Peaks? Just stuff like that. Karak Izor was also replaced by Clan Angrund, though that doesn't bother me as much, as you needed to put Angrund in somewhere.
i have a mac and i can't install mods for Rome 2, what can i do ?
This is by far the most challenging campaign so far - managed to do it 2nd time on very hard. Instead of recruiting another lord it is better to construct fortifications. Get the 2nd lord when you have captured all 3 cities in the province and place him down south. Use belegar then to take out Skarsnik

Guys, when I get bonuses to RANGERS they don't apply to BUGMAN'S Rangers, is that intended? Also, why did you wait until AFTER I finished the Belegar campaign on legendary to upload this lol

I second that, would be nice to get free night time mod, with two moons at least and spooky skybox. They did that for Rome II.
In the Warhammer world Halloween is replaced with Morrsleib, where the Witching Moon has waxed fully. When this happens all manner of undead and chaotic creatures that wouldn't normally appear during the day come out and try to eat as many people as possible. It's not unknown for entire villages to disappear at that time.
So if ÇA does do something for Halloween, it's going to be big.
Thomas Bouric Geheimnisnacht and Hexennacht I believe. I'm already using mod for Vampire Counts night battles and it does make huge difference. Now Beastmen and Skaven could benefit from this mod as well.

I have beaten both campaigns but I've been playing Civ ever since. is it better to just bum rush eight-peaks or stick around to murder your rival?
You'reThatMantis either can work, I personally allied the high king, and then stormed eight peaks with those ghosts
On higher difficulties it is very important to at least weaken Skarsnik. I don't know whether its because his AI is better or what but if left unchecked he will create a large number of armies and rotate which ones he's attacking with not only is this just hard to defend against but it will eventually give you grudges with armies and generals that have moved off to his other fronts making them very hard to fulfill causing you a great deal of difficulty in managing your public order and any relations with other dwarf clans.
It feels weird that Clan Angrund and Crooked Moon end up throwing down nowhere near the Karan Eight Peaks, the source of conflict and hatred for the factions.
Mountaineering isnt worth 3 skill points, if it was significant like 50% reduction upkeep maybe just maybe
Best move on turn 1...give all your money to Karak Hirn xd

Dear Total War, I think you should definitely do a First World War-era Total War game. I love the series, Warhammer just hasn't been my cup of tea. In my mind, the historical games are much better. I love the historical games and I love history in general.

Wait.... I thought calling upon your ancestors to fight for you was a BIG no no in dwarven culture? Does this make him an oathbreaker or something?
There has never been a case in the lore where dead dwarfs were returned to un-life (except as zombie thralls). The closest example being the white dwarf, but he has a living body. Dwarfs tend to venerate and worship their ancestors, and carry war gear and trinkets depicting their own ancestors. Having them actually show up and fight for you would probably show any dwarf that Belegar has a good cause.

Alexane Rose Vampires summon and bind the spirits of dead people to their will, making them slaves. In Belegar's case it seems they somehow came back by their own will to finally settle clan Angrund's grudge. I mean dwarf grudges are so strong they can give them special powers (there are grudge runes too in the tabletop game). Point being: It hasn't happened in the actual lore, but it wouldn't surprise me if something like this happened.

yeah Belegar has a really bad red skill line. no bonuses for hammerers, longbeards, ironbreakers, slayers, etc. making him rather insubstantial late game

worst thing is that you can't catch goblins armies, they just dig in and out near your mountain. You can't leave and you can't catch them... idiotic map design and game feature...

that " walkthrough " is so bad, why would you build that ranger thing at all ( beside, you just like the unit..), allways go for income first, especially as dwarf, cous dwarfen lifestyle is expensive, also put the 2 thains + runesmith in the army, keep the engineer or what it is called in english at karak izor and reduce buildingcost, which ll safe immense ammounts of money + level tha guy, which is very important!! ----> ~ 50-70 round, there will be a grudge to have a engineer at a certain level ( variing on your dificulty, on easy its level 10, normal level 15 etc...) therefor you will need to get your engineer as much levels as possibles ( i advice skill him for campagne utility, trade, coruption reducing etc...
very important: DONT EVER MAKE PRESENTS IN EARLY GAME, karak ghirn likes you anyway and they will help you anyway... and karak norn? - well i found it much easier to capture them, or let them get sieged by skarnsik and meanwhile you take skarsniks capital, when you got it campagne is won, cous he cant make units anymore and there wont be 3 gobbo armys and 2 waaghs
when you got norn, izor and ghirn ( you need to capture ghirn aswell!) you have enough income to go for 2 armys, that is enough to take over barak var ( i played campagne so far 4 times, every time it was under grimgors control, so i had no problems with a war vs barak var/ the dwarfs) from barak var you can go instantly to 8peaks or, what i recommend, take some more stf from grimgork to weaken him
that walkthrough is like 300% more efficient
ps: karak ghirn will ask you to help in war vs the gobbos with the spiderbanner.... dont help them!
