They are adding new features with improved campaign design for every race. A wholesale redesign of the existing ones though will take a new game, aka Warhammer 2.

it was already there I think just hidden. ever noticed how you got a nice and noble leader or something or other (public order bonus faction wide) when you released prisoners, whereas executing them all resulted in getting a mean leader with negative public order bonus. Magni56 after medieval 2 they almost completly throw it out the Window. With a small skilltree and not much more. This whent on all the way to warhammer. Now it looks like they expanded on it greatly. Have played rome 1 and medieval 2? Those random traits and proggressive traits were absolutly fantastic. Laughed at many of them and I was really sad to see them go away with newer tw's.
This game will be even more uneven when it comes out. Britonnia looks like the only finished faction now. There's no argue that vanilla factions and lords are in need of a second pass.

Why not just give archers different ammo types, rather than make three distinct units? Any archer should be able to fire any type of arrow from his bow, that's just basic logic talking. I know you're trying to give the player more options, but the way you've implemented it seems restrictive, not freeing. Don't get me wrong, I love this game and the fact that you're continuing to produce content for it. Please keep it up, I'm a big fan. Misguided or not, I buy every piece of DLC simply to support the developer. I want more games like this, so I'm voting with my wallet.
+haldir88 that can be fixed by giving them a fixed amount of fire and poison volleys, i mean each time you clic on the fire icon they shoot a fire volley, give them 5 volleys of each and there you go, must archer units have 21 volleys before going out of ammo.
Guide on when to do the Green Knight Summoning Quest battles if needed. Attacking Oak of Ages to end the Asrai if they get bothersome. Fighting off Archaon and his armies during the End Times.
Meaning I'm probably never going to use him because I will always wonder if I should have saved him for some theoretical bigger and closer battle that he would have tipped the balance in. It's the power armour from fallout 4 all over again. With limited use, you never use it to kill the big spider out of fear that there will be a bigger spider around the corner. Maybe once you reach max chivalry you can recruit him like an RoR for a very expensive amount.
Considering he sticks around for a number of turns per summon, if there really is a bigger spider/Chaos horde right around the corner, he'll still be with you for the next battle. Unless you got him killed in the first, which is on you. ;)
I really think once this is released your team that stays on with the original game need to sit down and do an overhaul, bringing all the various small improvements to the old factions too. I feel like the empire has been neglected quite a bit. Great work so far.
The thing I love doing in Total War games is when I beat a settlements defenders, I sack the city first and then immediately after attack again and gain control of the city
Well it's Norsca, they were probably eating people alive, having a weird relation with their goat, eating cheese without bread and boilling beef or other abomination like that !
Of course, razing cities of everybody's enemies is more like a purge in religious purposes, those who are same religion as you will respect you more....while sacking, looting and pillaging brings dishonor no matter who you do it too...makes total sense ^^

Next Expansion will add a huge chuck of the map on the west of the existing one, and will feature the high elves on their island, in front of the shores of bretonnia, and even more to the west, in what would be america, the dark elf in canada and the lizardmen in mexico. With chaos still infesting the north of the map.
The "next expansion" is more than that, it's a standalone game, that when owned together with the first one, will merge maps for the grand campaign, same goes for the 3rd one, so while they are expansions in essence, they'll probably have standalone expansions(minor factions etc) for them as well. As for expansions for this game, Brettonia is the last one, though I don't think they'll keep us waiting for a long time for the next game, they need to ride that hype train while the game is still popular.
Cannot wait! I also am excited for Isabellas release aswell :D Hopefully after bretonnia in the future we will get skaven next! Would be cool to see there unique ability! I don't know much of skaven lore but would be cool to see that instead of takeing settlements they use them as short cut areas and capitals places they can build soldiers from. I know that the skaven live in the darkest parts of the old world in mountains, underground, sewers, etc. Would be also cool that knowing they aren't good in physical combat such as the empire and such but man...I hope they give them MASSIVE horde armies as they are well known for! FOR THE HORNED RAT

Looks great, cant wait. Its a bit odd that Bretonnia of all factions would have the prep option for circumventing attrition via planing and industry. I like this as a game concept and I am very glad they have it, but honestly of the Order factions Bretonnia should be one of the worst at something like this. As far as government planing and competency in preparing for something like this the order of performance would be Dwarfs> Empire > Bretonnia I guess the Lords of the other factions can do this with their amy's individually already, which.... I guess implies that Bretonnian Lords cant? I guess its something like private vs state funding for winter/ desert suplies, but it seems like it would be the other way around for Bretonnia, with certain lords privately funding their armies with gear, and the Empire funding gear for its state armies. I'm thinking about this way to much.
Although I will suspend judgement on balancing and unit prices etc for when I play it, I must say I am really happy with how Brettonia looks not only unique, but a lot more interactive with the peasant system! Finally something that kind of affects manpower/population. Now if there was another factor involved such as starvation that would be even better! That said, implementing such a system which punishes unit spam was really needed for Total war, as currently it rewards cheap unit spam over some expensive elite units. Now it seems getting those units may finally be the better choice. That said, you could always circumvent this by just not getting farms (it looks like, not sure) and focusing on industry. I hope that is not the case though! Thanks for the fleshed out faction CA!

Alchemys In the FLC it's said they're adding "an Old Friend" who might be Krell and while I would like see Krell even I as a VC fan think they're getting a bit too much love, the Empire still only has 3 Legendary lords while the other factions from the base game now have 4 or in the Vampire Count's case 5.
I have 1800 hours in this game because of the traits and the imperfections that go along side them. But now... traits that tell you how you acquired them... My body is ready. Perfectionist woes over
I am so hyped, hopefully the new community map mod packs will be released at the same time. Bretonnia feels really really dope. Yes the other races, aside woodelves I would say, feel not as juicy. Can't wait to see them evolve, and fingers crossed to have every single faction be unique and playable in time. Also forest goblins need to be a thing.
I hope the personalized traits for lords correlating with actions are something that will migrate to all the factions. I also hope that this really interesting, in-character chivalry mechanic can be used to revamp the grudges and WAAAGH!!! systems.

If you mean joining confederations, their settlements will keep their original names, but you control their settlements and their armies, and it'll be as if, e.g. Carcassone or Bordeleaux didn't exist. Hope that helps!

So the best way to fight Bretonia is with assassins? You kill/wound a high level general with level dependent units in his army and unless he can pull in a replacement general who can meet the requirements part of the army will just melt away?
I wish you can add not only the tabletop factions but some faction in the lore as well: Ind, Cathay, Nippon, Araby and Chaos Dwarves. These factions had been overlooked by GW for too long!

I think a manpower system similar to that of paradox than the economy system for it doesn't make sense if you can lose your entire army you are able to instantly to rebuild it.
The trait system is very nice would like to see that added to the other races. Why not, would make sense and adds also deth to all the other leaders. And It would be different from race to race, like a Dwarf chilling in a city would give a benefit instead of a bad trait. We´ll see what modders do with it, again modders adding value to the game.
Honestly, Brettonia look awesome, I really like the flavor it have, at least from what we seen. The tech is cool too, but it look like most faction we can have a decree against are faction we would not have much diplomacy to begin with, so maybe the malus in relation is not that big of a handicap.

I've been contemplating over getting this game since it's release cos I've quite a few other heavy games which I'm into. I haven been very into previous titles but I'm really loving how this has come to be, plus I'm a huge Warhammer fan too.

haldir88 In multiplayer they can split them but in singleplayer? It is a really good idea and they did it before in Rome II or Attila, so why not?

If Bretonnians raze cities of evil races they get chivalry, but should they raze cities of humans they lose chivalry.

If I unite Bretonnia with a subfaction, will my subfaction name change into bretonnia or will it stay Carcassone or Bordeleaux?

^ If there's an uprising a rebel Carcassone force will try take over your settlement, if they succeed they become known as Carcassone again.

I like this karma-base, actual actions base trait system. Now implement this to all factions. It would be more traceable, reasonable and story like.

The trait system is very nice would like to see that added to the other races. Why not, would make sense and adds also deth to all the other leaders. And It would be different from race to race, like a Dwarf chilling in a city would give a benefit instead of a bad trait. We´ll see what modders do with it, again modders adding value to the game.
Honestly, Brettonia look awesome, I really like the flavor it have, at least from what we seen. The tech is cool too, but it look like most faction we can have a decree against are faction we would not have much diplomacy to begin with, so maybe the malus in relation is not that big of a handicap.

really loved your narration. I've got a question though, how casual gamer friendly is total war Warhammer? I've been contemplating over getting this game since it's release cos I've quite a few other heavy games which I'm into. I haven been very into previous titles but I'm really loving how this has come to be, plus I'm a huge Warhammer fan too.

Focused way to much on the left side of the map and the vampires are in the same area, where other areas are left baron.

Quick question regarding the Green Knight summoning through out of your campaign as Bretonnia.
Will you be ble to summon him even if you skip the first Chivalry buff? Will you be able to summon him twice? does it stack? or does it simply skip?
