Just spent 500.00 plus on candle making equipment to start this business. I found your channel and love that you share your knowledge with the community. Thank you!
I'm looking at purchasing some stuff as well. On the fence between hobby and making to sell. Do you mind me asking what equipment you went with to start off?
@@rodrica4340 I started my candle business already. But so far I’m still using pitchers to pour my wax. Once it takes off then I will buy the bigger wax pots. My suggestion (not that you asked 😂) is to start small with pouring pitchers just to see if you like making candles. Much cheaper.
Your reaction to Chamomile Tea was my scent reaction out of bottle. I laughed so hard and knew that’s the scent you were referring to before you even named it!
When the student is ready, the Master Teacher will come (my take on the quote). You are my Master Teacher and I Thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely, knowing that there is no lack and abundance is everywhere. You deserve every success your heart and pockets can stand.🥳❣ Thank you for pouring into us (pun intended)!😀
LOVE the background and it doesn’t even sound like your warehouse which is a testament for how good your setup is. Also looks aesthetically pleasing even tho it looks like you can do real work there.
I’m brand new to the world of candle making and I initially wanted to just make a few for my daughter’s bridesmaids gift boxes, however; after watching your videos, I may go ahead and add a few to my existing line of gifts! Thank you so much!
That reaction to the second scent! 😂😂 I'm interested to see if your opinion changes when they get tested, but either way I really appreciate the honesty about which you do and don't like. The new backdrop looks very sleek! ✨
I love the new studio type set up for videos. It's clean and sharp and is homey, bur doesn't distract from what your doing. It gives a modern farm house vibe! Thanks for sharing the new fragrances for spring! I should have grabbed a couple of them. I'm in full looking fragrances for Wedding favors. My son's getting married June 3rd! I'm doing all the candles for the wedding, including the alter candles. I also am making all the gifts for the bridesmaids. They're all getting 8 piece skin care sets. So yes, I haven't had time to track down all the new spring fragrances! That's what's great about this channel. We get to see first impressions and we get to see you work with them too. Awesome!
I just found you and honestly sooo happy that I did! Not only did I giggle like crazy I learned sooo much more than I expected to about candle making (very much a beginner here). I will be checking out your other videos right away. Thank you soooo much for your inspiration and knowledge. And love the new backdrop! ♥️♥️♥️
I love that you point out the temperature flexibility. I was wondering about that because I've seen the 185F thrown around as if its gospel. Really good to know that a range is good to figure out.
Love the background!!! Glad you did this video as I'm wanting to try some of these scents. Appreciate your time, hard work, and honesty. Headed to your site to buy some wicks. Thanks again, Wade :) Oh, and Congrats on the new space, too!
Im buying bit by bit as Im disabled ( fibromyalgia & just got tested for lupus wish me luck they're both horrible ) For extra income Im starting this ( & for fun ) with under $200 I first need to learn how to make a quality candle. I appreciate your videos ! Thank you !
Love the new set up! Thanks for always being open and transparent on what you use and giving tips and tricks. I have learned more from you than anyone else. I hope you are planning on being a distributor for supplies in the future? Is that what your warehouse is for? 🙏🏻
OMG!! you had me laughing so hard watching you smell the fragrance oils. You make your videos so interesting. I am learning so much from you. Thank you.
Thank you! Great video. Just found your channel. I'm a soap maker and I know I can learn a lot from your videos. I have similar tastes in fragrance oils as you. Spicy, woodsy...... anyhow, in my soap business I struggle with finding good fragrances. I will be watching your videos and buying some candles from you. Thank you!
Sorry to laugh at your pain of smelling the chamomile tea. But I just could not stop laughing. The fact that you went in for more. Thank you for the instructions.
Love the video! I’m so drawn to the candle making videos for some reason?? Also, backdrop looks great. My fragrances should be here soon…I had to order them like a peasant. 🤣😆 Can’t wait nonetheless 🖤
Hey Wade... was wondering where you were. Almost sent out the calvary to look for you. Great video as usual. Thanks for all you do and continuing blessings to and your business.
Literally the best reaction ever (good or bad) when it came to the Chamomile Tea FO. 😂😂😂 I have watched that part over and over and over 😂😂😂. I did watch the whole video, too, of course. I don't even have to see for myself, I will take your reaction as golden!
I love that you tested these new scents because I just purchased the coffee shop, white oak and vanilla and passionfruit over a week ago. I’m a beginner candle maker, just started testing my line 2 months ago. So I made the coffee shop as a blend with another fragrance and it made it smell even more like a special latte. And my passionfruit while it smells amazing, came out so bad texture wise (I’m testing soy GW 464 and may have stirred too quickly and poured too hot). It was a disaster. So I have to buy another bottle and try again maybe with the para-soy wax I have. I'm not too much of a fan of the white oak and vanilla but I want to see how it works in my candle. Thank you so much for making these videos cause I always get such great and helpful tips from you 😊
I love the new set up! Looks fabulous! I knew right away that was Chamomile Tea! It’s horrible smelling. I haven’t tested it yet but I’m watching the video now I can’t wait to hear what you thought after making it! Gross out of the bottle!!!
Just started playing with a fragrance with dyes and ended up making the entire house smell of pumpkin spiced latte. It has been taking the past 2 days of opening windows and using the air filters to try to get the smell down to a tolerable amount! Now I know I can start at half the percentage and still get a great cold throw ROFL
Love you new set up , looks nice. Congrats! Thanks for sharing your testing. Like the camera angles when mixing color and pouring. Need to find a dependable wick so will be visiting your site.
100% agree with you, Chamomile Tea is HORRIBLE! OOB. I also didn't care for White Oak and Vanilla, it's too sweet. Passionfruit Pineapple is AMAZING!! Can't wait for you to test the HT 😊
Flash back to very early childhood when my older brothers' girlfriends would make candles. I vaguely recall they would buy wax at the local hardware store. After melting in a doubled pot they would pour the melted wax into a milk carton, holding the tip of the wick until the wax would hold the wick on it's own. Then the carton went into the fridge. Then pouring the hot wax into the milk carton and adding ice cubes before refrigeration became the in thing. Next big thing was to make candles look like ice cream sundaes but heck if I can remember how they made the wax look like whipped cream. Incredible how far candle making has come.
Thanks Wade! I love your videos and was hoping you’d review the new Candle Science Fragrance Oils. Your new space looks fabulous! I’m also glad I skipped on ordering Chamomile Tea!😅
Like the new setup. Chamomile Tea, really??? :) I love your channel as it is so helpful in starting a candle making business! I also hope you bring Allen back sometime! :)
Love your new setup! Really interested in how the testing goes, as we got all of these new scents, but haven’t tested any of them yet. And speaking of testing, do you still plan on doing more videos of testing the candles sent-in to you for review!? (This is Bryon from Lostail 🐇) Have a great rest of your week Wade! ✌🏻
Hey Bryon! Yes I plan to get to your as soon as I can. I naively had to put reviews on hold but I have yours and 1 or 2 others already here still waiting. Sorry for the delay, just been buried!
Hi I'm a new viewer all the way here in the UK 🇬🇧 I purchased a big box of soya wax but wasn't sure how much oil and dyes to put in the jug. Thank you for showing us. I like anything vanilla or orange.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been seriously thinking about doing candle making as a side gig and I wasn't sure on the details. But now I'm feeling more confident with making candles. I've made a few just as Christmas gifts and I used a small pouring pitcher thing [can't think of what it's called] it was a pain to clean out and I also risked water popping into the pitcher cause I put the pitcher in boiling water to melt the wax. So I'm definitely going to get the wax melter you recommended in another video
😂hello Wade great video. You are hilarious lol I enjoy your videos. You make them so exciting and fun to watch. Thank you for that. I use chamomile but not chamomile tea. Chamomile doesn't smell as bad but its not one of my favorite. So thank you for the warning. I'm not a fan of herbal smells either. I look forward to your next video☺
I have immediately knew by your reaction to the 2nd fragrance that it was Chamomile Tea! I had the exact same reaction when I opened my 1 oz. sample bottle! 😂 It was nauseating!
Hello Wade Thomas Great tutorial!!! Great setup!!! The backdrop screams ready to do business but have fun doing it!!! Thank you for describing each note from each scent!!! I will definitely be looking into purchasing some of them. However, I still have scents that I need to use. One thing I observed you do is putting the dye in before the fragrance oil. Does that result in a better ht/ct, and less damage to candle after it set? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on your channel!!! Can't wait for the testing video!!!
Thanks. No, order of dye or fragrance doesn't matter. I just do dye first when getting because I'm experimenting with colors and this gives me bit more time to try different colors or add more if needed
Hello Wade. I like the new setup, great work. You had me in tears laughing as your facial expression and commentary were hilarious, "No, ma'am," you couldn't stop with saying it once...LOL You had emphasized it again with more convention, "NO MA'AM!" with a look.....LOL I really enjoy your videos, and you make them so entertaining and educational all in one. Whenever possible, could you do a brief tutorial on how you temperature check your glass jars? I'm struggling with how to truly test my clear glass jars to ensure I'm within the temperature guidelines. I'm been searching online to get an example of temperature testing, but I don't think I'm doing it correctly. I'm using an infrared thermometer to check my temperature. I really would appreciate it could do a brief tutorial on that. Thank you in advance for your support and guidance.
Ha ha thanks so much. And yes an Infrared Thermometer is a great way to test the outside of the glass . It measures surface temperature. Sounds like you're doing it right to me. ,:)
This was a really good video!! I have a coffee scent too and I thought to use black dye along with the brown, but I was nervous about it I will definitely try it out now. I use dye chips though thank you for this tip my coffee candle looks like a Caramel Frappuccino right now lol. - I haven't heard the name Price Chopper since I lived in PA as a little girl. Lol, wow! And your back set up looks really good I like it 👌🏽👏🏽🕯😊
I’ve used chamomile tea as well! It’s better when I mixed it with lavender but it’s very strong black tea scent. Like concentrated black tea. I think it should be a lighter smell than that.
Love your new setup! Glad to see you are getting settled in. Oh that is too weird, real chamomile tea smells so good though, did they miss that badly?! I had to laugh at your dramatic reaction though! 😂 Btw Lily of the valley should be white or maybe light green at most. I love Oak! My best selling soap is Vanilla Oak it's so good. I don't know why but I find a lot of people like foodie type candles. I'm really not a fan of foodie scents at all either. I wouldn't mind so much in a candle but there's no way I'd wanna wash with something that smells like a cinnamon bun! 😂
I’m enjoying your videos! Getting interested in candle making after 35 years since I last made them to sell! 😂 I would also love to know what lavalier mic you are using because the sound is impressive, particularly knowing you are in a warehouse
I am looking to start my candle business , how do i know what jars are best to use for candle testing? i mainly want to create 2 wick candles. I love your channel . Thank you for all the amazing content.
Awesome backdrop and video! Thanks for sharing. Btw...Chamomile tea doesn't smell nice. I can only imagine the fragrance oil is the same. Can't wait to hear its review in the follow up video 😄.
Thank you so much for your videos! I just started making candles, and I'm still a bit overwhelmed. Your videos provide a lot of clarity. I especially appreciated your comments on temperature, as I am one of the people who are stressing out about it. My first batch of candles turned out now so great (smell-wise). Initially, I thought I need to "perfect" my process (i.e. finding the right temperature to add my oils). After watching your videos, I may try out different wax blends and a different oil supplier. Do you happen to know good suppliers in Europe by any chance?
Brand new to this, I have enjoyed your channel and openness SO MUCH THANK YOU. One question if you don't mind, do you use Pro Blend 600 in the candles you sell?
so happy to find your channel and I learned from you a lot, can I know the temperature of the wax when you add fragrance to the wax? and the pouring temperature ?

Awesome backdrop and video! Thanks for sharing. Btw...Chamomile tea doesn't smell nice. I can only imagine the fragrance oil is the same. Can't wait to hear its review in the follow up video 😄.
Yah definitely not a fan. Lol
Do you happen to know good suppliers in Europe by any chance?
i like the classics, fruits, citrus, and relaxation scent (Hawaiian Beach) (cool sensation).
If you ever do an in person workshop I would be very interested!

You need to clip your reaction to the chamomile tea 😜 Can visibly see your eyes watering 🙈 Hope it burns nicer 😁
Love the new set up. Classy 😊👌
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brand new to this, I have enjoyed your channel and openness SO MUCH THANK YOU. One question if you don't mind, do you use Pro Blend 600 in the candles you sell?
In many yes. :)
You're so awesome with fragrances and tones, I'd bet you would make a great wine tester too.😂
😆
so happy to find your channel and I learned from you a lot, can I know the temperature of the wax when you add fragrance to the wax?
and the pouring temperature ?
I would love to try some Candle Science fragrance oils but the shipping costs to Australia are astronomical! Love the new background!
