Word of mouth has been good for my little business. Now after watching so many of your videos I'm ready to move forward and expand comfortably.
Awesome video. I am just getting into candle-making. My sister bought a new house and I thought it would be lovely to send her some candles. A lot more goes into it than I had originally thought. Your videos have been tremendously helpful in learning about this process so thank you for all the knowledge. Your videos are so helpful.

Hello there, i am a beginner in candle making. My thoughts are to do this as a hobby and hopefully if i get good at it, then possibly make it as a another form of income. any recommendation on company to get sample fragrance ?
I noticed that you don't use a double boiler as many candle makers do, but direct heat. Your hotplate doesn't look like the conventional burner that you find at Wal-mart. What brand is it?
No hot plates. I used double boiler when I first started. Then moved to the direct heat small Presto melters. You can find link In the video description. Now I use commercial meters. :)
Also how does one get the fragrance smell out of the pouring pitcher? Mine still smells like the FO I used a few weeks ago. Anyone? All help is *greatly* appreciated!!!!!
@@LD-nb4hr thank you very much. Is it normal for the scent to stay in the container so strongly? Hey Mari. There really isn't a best wax... or wick. It all depends what you are looking for and care the most about. I'm about to post s video next week on several of my favorites though if you want to check out. But it really depends on what factors matter most to you.. :)
love this video, but now I have to rush over to candle science cuz I've been too busy watching you, no discount LMBO 😂 ROTF 😝! Got to more careful ☺️!👍
So Wade I have a question..why can I smell my candles in the bathroom but not that much in my living room which it's not super big. I'm like maybe I should sell them as bathroom candles
Could be just the air flow in the living room. Happens to me too. More vents means more air circulation through ventilation and can easily affect how much lingers in the room
Anybody have a wax recommendation for newbies like myself? I always here 464 is hard for HT but I also dont want to use any wax with paraffin and how long do you let yours cure..
Beeswax can be a bit tricky a wax for a beginner. I find it robs fragrance no matter what I do. Also, it’s hard to clean up if you spill. And I agree with Wade, PB 600 a good wax to try. Performs very well-soy/paraffin blend.
@@sassynyc7327 LoVe Beef does not want to use paraffin. I find you have to cure Beeswax 4 weeks or more to smell FO. Also use a separate pot for beeswax. Just a thought ! The smell of the Beeswax alone is Heavenly PeAcE

Would you mind posting where you get your jars? Thanks!
@@GrisselleVelez Amazon and candle science
@@simplyblessed_ Thank you!
Could you post a link to these jars? What size are they? I’d GREATLY appreciate you! 💙
Hello there, i am a beginner in candle making. My thoughts are to do this as a hobby and hopefully if i get good at it, then possibly make it as a another form of income. any recommendation on company to get sample fragrance ?
Good luck to you! Midwrst fragrance company, Candle science, nature's garden, flaming candle, little bees, etc
Are these wicks all the same type and size or not... As I can see they are different.. correct me if I am wrong..
Btw you do an excellent job there...
Rubbing alcohol with kitchen roll
@@LD-nb4hr thank you very much. Is it normal for the scent to stay in the container so strongly? I think I overdosed it in FO.😕 I've seen other people say 'I just wiped it out with a paper towel' but my pitcher...and whole kitchen smelled of lavender sage for a solid week. 😂 Thank you very much for your help!!
Rubbing alcohol or just blast real good with heat gun and wipre it down
Testing makes me wanna run out my front door and down the road til I fall in the ditch 😶
That's how I start my day every morning
@@BlackTieBarn dying 😂🤣 here
Best comment ever!
@@BlackTieBarn 2 hours later, still laughing 😂
@@lauriewilson4741 haha!
@@BlackTieBarn ok…just thought…did you mean you start every morning with running out at ya front door, down the road til you fallin the ditch? Or, start every morning with testing? Bc if it’s testing, I m sorry for theROFL. 😀 thought you were making a joke
What type of wax is best to use and wick ?
Hey Mari. There really isn't a best wax... or wick. It all depends what you are looking for and care the most about. I'm about to post s video next week on several of my favorites though if you want to check out. But it really depends on what factors matter most to you.. :)
Is that a good wax for melts and how would it be in shipping and have a good hardness and snap
No...Definitely not good for melts. Ots a container was so is way too soft for melts
Hi! How does the sel de mer compare to their sea minerals FO?
Not real sure. Can't remember when I smelled that last so can't really recall personally. Maybe someone else can speak to that
love this video, but now I have to rush over to candle science cuz I've been too busy watching you, no discount LMBO 😂 ROTF 😝! Got to more careful ☺️!👍
🤣
So Wade I have a question..why can I smell my candles in the bathroom but not that much in my living room which it's not super big. I'm like maybe I should sell them as bathroom candles
I should add if I leave the bathroom door open I still can smell it .maybe I'm nose blind to my candles in the living room.
Could be just the air flow in the living room. Happens to me too. More vents means more air circulation through ventilation and can easily affect how much lingers in the room
Where do you get your wick holders?
I have do many kinds. Dzignhaus, acandleco.com, noordencandlesupply, Amazon
What kind of wax do you use, soy wax or paraffin? thank you
I use them all. I use different ones for different accounts and also for educational purposes on this channel. :)
um, where did you get the centering wick tools, please?
DzignHaus. :)
Psst.... what is the wick that you used for this experiment?
Mostly premier 725 and cdn 2 I believe
@@BlackTieBarn Thank you 😊 I watched it twice and tried to locate it in the links to avail. Appreciate the tests and your opinions 👍💜
Moonflower nectar is a dupe for BBW be enchanted :)
Ahh yes!
What wax do u use?
For these I used problend 600. I talk about it in the video and why I chose it specifically
I can't find the problend 600 on the CS website. :( and can someone tell me what temperature my oven needs to be at to warm my tins and jars up at?
Anybody have a wax recommendation for newbies like myself? I always here 464 is hard for HT but I also dont want to use any wax with paraffin and how long do you let yours cure..
The one in this video is a good choice.
Beeswax
Beeswax can be a bit tricky a wax for a beginner. I find it robs fragrance no matter what I do. Also, it’s hard to clean up if you spill. And I agree with Wade, PB 600 a good wax to try. Performs very well-soy/paraffin blend.
@@sassynyc7327 LoVe Beef does not want to use paraffin. I find you have to cure Beeswax 4 weeks or more to smell FO. Also use a separate pot for beeswax. Just a thought ! The smell of the Beeswax alone is Heavenly

How do you make BLACK wax?
BeUtiful Candles
Ty!
How many oz per jar did u put for fragrance?
I'll have to check. It was mentioned at one part of the video. But somewhere around 7oz wax and .6oz of FO I think
Candlewic makes a good, strong Eucalyptus
Great. Ty!
Looks like a bowl of Jolly Roger candies
Haha
I bought moonflower and alpine balsam because you liked both scents... Both makes me wanna throw up😂😂😂...
Lol really? To each their own. Haha. Yah fragrance opinions are tough because we all like different ones. I love both of those. Lol
@@BlackTieBarn changed my mind- alpine balsam is amazing while burning. 😊
@@hi-cblanco7913 :) Awesome!
But have you tried eating mango with Tajin?!!
I have not. Lol
Then you have to give it a chance!
Coconut Soleil-- it's pronounced So-LAY. It's French for "sun."
Ha ha. Yeah I figured it out late in the video. I just didn't recognize it at first. Lol. Thank you
