in my experiences, they already got enough stuffs to make good qualities, no matters where they work in S.Korea. but the problem was the thing dealing with investors or company's policies like they worship the money, something more. it has been like the typical the custom like "successful equation" here. that's why this studio made those p2p stuffs earlier, and stacked enough money to make a good one, and they made this one finally. oh, and the CEO of the studio, Shift Up, a former famous illustrator, that's why he got out of his previous company, and trying to make better quality, not just like p2w dang stuffs.

I don’t think I would play this for a while but your review sold me the game and I will pre order it. We need to support developers so that we get more new IP’s than sequels of older games.

Probably the biggest travesty in gaming history is that we do not have a sequel to sekiro. Hands-down, my favorite gameplay loop of all time the fact it is only implemented in one game is crazy.
I played the demo and though I mostly enjoyed it I had my doubts about dishing out $70 for this, but I'm going to put my faith in you Cowboy and take a dive.

I LOVED Prince of Persia agreed with your review 100%, unfortunately dragons dogma didn’t fully land for me, so I’m hoping stellar blade knocks it out of the park! i totally agree i figured i would like dragons dogma because fighting cowboy liked it but it didn't hit for me either i finished but was over it towards the end it never really grabbed me

There is a "Story Mode" difficulty option if Normal presents too much of a challenge; you can swap difficulties whenever you want. In addition, when Story Mode is enabled, you can turn on Action Assist to help with actions that require timing during combat. Auto Loot Items is under Gameplay settings.
It’s amazing how the way you interact with the world is similar to how I interacted with the world recently in FF VII Rebirth: especially the rest stops complete with vending machines. I daresay Eve is a lot quicker and more nimble to use during similar climbing sequences too. But if you have a PS5 then Stellar Blade AND FF VII Rebirth are absolute must-haves!!
Your reviews are so good man. I get to hear what I personally would call "the real experience." I know you like to dive really deep into games, and that is what is required in many cases to actually review a game. Rather than some game journo that may or may not even like games, were under a deadline, and then poops out pages about an experience that was played on easy mode, barely scratched the surface and then promptly got released with little to no substance. You deliver the opposite of that. I get to hear all about the nitty gritty stuff, which to me is extremely important in order to judge how immersed I will be. Since I only use my roller to play solo player games, that is kind of a sacred spot for me. That is my "OK, I want to lean back, relax and hopefully get my butt kicked until I overcome this thing." Immersion is a key part of that, since without it I am not actually able to escape this world for a few hours. Which written out sounds kind of sad, but I liken the feeling to having been on a vacation and then you get home. You did in fact LOVE your vacation, but there is just something about being home. Also, thanks for all the walkthroughs you provide. They make gaming so much better. I never watch how you defeat bosses or anything like that, but not having to spend 3 of my free hours looking for that one door I happened to overlook is just fantastic. Unless it is old school Resident Evil, in which case I am all about running around like an idiot until I find that obscure part of the puzzle. Which is seemingly obvious when you find it, so you feel like a total tool.
I’m glad the options for playstyles were mentioned. Especially for people like me who don’t like parrying. In the demo a no parry run was definitely viable (if not better) because the reflection skill can cut off an enemy’s combo chain. I’m hoping there are more enhancements other than the demo ones that will help with a more dodgy / reflection based playstyle. My issue with it is that reflection used so much beta you couldn’t really use any active skills. In this case the super mode sounds fun; kinda like in Rise of Robin where you can temporarily have unlimited stamina.

Not every game will be perfect bro so stop that. Even a 4/5 would be great. But what matters at the end of the day is our own individual opinion, not other people’s.

I have to say this game went completely under my radar until ONGBAL posted a video. It took me all of about 4hrs after watching it to download the demo, play it, then pre-order. Sekiro is my favourite game of all time and I wholeheartedly agree with the comparison. Can't wait for the postman on Friday!
I haven't been around for a super long time, but I decided to go in on this one based on how excited you sounded when you started landing parries. I hadn't heard that cowboy since the last time you hopped on Sekiro. Instantly sold me.
So hyped for this game! Just incredible and truly stands out for a modern game! As for the rest of the broken internet crowd, I just don't care. The coomers gonna coom. Haters gonna hate.
What blew me away with the sound is putting on the bear costume and realizing it reflected in the soft sounds when walking haha. This was the first game I went platinum on. Absolutely loved it
Yeah, and I love how some podcasts and whatnot I listened to (and people in general) were skeptical of this game even after the demo. I don’t know if people are just jaded at this point, but I figured this would be good back when it was announced.
The opening demo felt sluggish up until the boss fight, which is where the game absolutely shines. I liked the demo but the thing that really made it click was the boss rush demo portion. When you got more access to skills and whatnot. But the game is a blast

since getting the platinum on sekiro, all ive wanted is a game that can give me that combat feel again. Happy you brought up the comparison because this feels like its going to hit that spot.
The game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos has some music inspired by NieR Automata (or so i've heard-- i've not played NieR, only Clash: AoC and i loved it). The very first gameplay song, The Boy Calls, already hits you. Very, very hard. Can heartily recommend checking out that music and the game itself and spread word of it. Most people wouldn't expect such heartfelt music, atmosphere, story and characters from a game where the main character... looks the way he does. Like Earthworm Clint Eastwood.
I just finished it at 49hours with the "good" ending , amazing game no doubt. Also that hint that their journey continues on....means either there is a dlc planed or a sequel. (or both)
Man I’m on the last area and this gives me a huge amount of hope for black mith because they are also a mobile game developer working on there first game. What a good game this was
My biggest complaint is the lifelessness that persists throughout. I feel like they had so many opportunities to humanize characters more, especially the central characters, but some of the voice acting does not hit. They also hang you by a thread narratively speaking. I wish events in general felt more impactful, but I too began to appreciate the story towards the end. Maybe it’s not supposed to be groundbreaking, and that’s okay. It can still be cool.

I mainly got this game to get me warmed up to play elden ring and the upcoming DLC and the setting and gameplay looked cool . I’m really impressed honestly , especially because it’s their first console game . Also the fact that they used to make mobile games and they don’t have any micro transactions that I’m aware of . Also no bugs , runs smoothly and looks fantastic. It’s surpassed my expectations for sure , a banger indeed

Great review so much better than the others I've seen, Sony's first party devs from god of war games helped with the combat so that's most probably why it does have a god of war feel liked and subscribed
Fantastic review. Your points on Lies of P's parrying feeling off resonates so hard with me. I adore that game but I'm a parrying fanatic and the game, unfortunately, always felt off to me. I never got used to its rhythm and subsequently felt that every time I tried to parry, I felt cheated when the enemy hit me. The timing to execute a perfect block was ludicrously small. Also, the absurdly long wind up to enemies' attacks followed up by a super quick follow through got really annoying. Again, I love that game, but it sounds like Stellar Blade didn't fall into the same trap. Thank god. I would buy this game immediately, I've heard nothing but praise for it, but sadly do not currently own a PS5. Damnit, hopefully they'll release it for PC. Ooooh, the mods for Eve would be sick 🤤 Once again, great vid. Thanks!

The smallest little detail that makes parrying feel so good in this and sekiro is being able to cancel attacks and combos with a guard. Something like lies of P makes you fully commit to an attack once you press the input for it, so it feels a little clunky. It just feels more fluid, and I'd imagine it's a little more realistic to be able to stop an attack to guard yourself.
I think the jiggle physics issue is overblown. It looks natural, it isn't ridiculous. The game is fantastic and I think it is the most accessible souls like game and will allow others to tackle harder souls like games after playing this
this is exactly the type of combat I've been looking for in an action game.😭 and its not on PC. hope it does well enough to get a port. HUGE Win for Shift Up
When it was project eve i wanted it, when i played the demo and saw it was coming out on my birthday i DEF wanted it and bought it 3 weeks ago. Thank you for your unbiased and not being one of those weird people who are scared or dont like female protagonist. This is a game is an amazing hack and slash action game!
Honestly when I played the demo and got to the first enemy it was an instant pre order, I can’t wait to play it and I totally agree with it feeling at home, it’s definitely a feeling for a game I’ve had since Elden ring, and it’s awesome, can’t wait to see more and thanks you for the review, I agree completely with you
This game looks fantastic. I typically can't do games like Sekiro, but after playing the demo of this game, it is super fun, and the combat is among the best I've ever seen in an action game.
Most fun I’ve had in a game this year so far. Top tier combat, animations, music, visuals, enemy design/boss fights. Only critiques = Many side quests felt a bit of a grind/chore, character development (except for Lilly) could be better. Overall, had an absolute blast & highly recommend.
Patch just dropped today adding in NG+ that also has more skill enhancements. Game is even more of a banger than it was before.

Never had an issue with the parry timing. Felt perfect. The perfect dodge on the other hand…. grrr.

What blew me away with the sound is putting on the bear costume and realizing it reflected in the soft sounds when walking haha. This was the first game I went platinum on. Absolutely loved it

Yeah, and I love how some podcasts and whatnot I listened to (and people in general) were skeptical of this game even after the demo. I don’t know if people are just jaded at this point, but I figured this would be good back when it was announced.
The opening demo felt sluggish up until the boss fight, which is where the game absolutely shines. I liked the demo but the thing that really made it click was the boss rush demo portion. When you got more access to skills and whatnot. But the game is a blast

since getting the platinum on sekiro, all ive wanted is a game that can give me that combat feel again. Happy you brought up the comparison because this feels like its going to hit that spot.
The DualSense Edge is a DREAM controller for this game. Mapping dodge and parry to the back buttons is a godsend.

Mine, too! If you haven't heard it, I highly recommend FFXVI's OST also. It's 3 discs of amazing music!

The game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos has some music inspired by NieR Automata (or so i've heard-- i've not played NieR, only Clash: AoC and i loved it).
The very first gameplay song, The Boy Calls, already hits you. Very, very hard. Can heartily recommend checking out that music and the game itself and spread word of it.
Most people wouldn't expect such heartfelt music, atmosphere, story and characters from a game where the main character... looks the way he does.
Like Earthworm Clint Eastwood.

Man I’m on the last area and this gives me a huge amount of hope for black mith because they are also a mobile game developer working on there first game. What a good game this was
My biggest complaint is the lifelessness that persists throughout. I feel like they had so many opportunities to humanize characters more, especially the central characters, but some of the voice acting does not hit. They also hang you by a thread narratively speaking. I wish events in general felt more impactful, but I too began to appreciate the story towards the end. Maybe it’s not supposed to be groundbreaking, and that’s okay. It can still be cool.
I already copped it. Its a fun game and thats what i wanted. The Beauty is just a bonus and the developers are badass.
Beauty being just a bonus should come as no surprise to anyone these days.
Fan service has always been just that.

I mainly got this game to get me warmed up to play elden ring and the upcoming DLC and the setting and gameplay looked cool . I’m really impressed honestly , especially because it’s their first console game . Also the fact that they used to make mobile games and they don’t have any micro transactions that I’m aware of . Also no bugs , runs smoothly and looks fantastic.
It’s surpassed my expectations for sure , a banger indeed
This is pleasing to here. I'm glad the devs put lots of effort into everything aside from only the jiggles, especially the gameplay. Looks like Sony has another hit on their hands.

Great review so much better than the others I've seen, Sony's first party devs from god of war games helped with the combat so that's most probably why it does have a god of war feel liked and subscribed

Fantastic review. Your points on Lies of P's parrying feeling off resonates so hard with me. I adore that game but I'm a parrying fanatic and the game, unfortunately, always felt off to me. I never got used to its rhythm and subsequently felt that every time I tried to parry, I felt cheated when the enemy hit me. The timing to execute a perfect block was ludicrously small. Also, the absurdly long wind up to enemies' attacks followed up by a super quick follow through got really annoying. Again, I love that game, but it sounds like Stellar Blade didn't fall into the same trap. Thank god.
I would buy this game immediately, I've heard nothing but praise for it, but sadly do not currently own a PS5. Damnit, hopefully they'll release it for PC. Ooooh, the mods for Eve would be sick 🤤

Y’all got to calm down. I’ve just reached the unmoored world for the first time in DD2 , haven’t touched Rise of the Ronin yet now SB, No rest , I can’t keep up
The smallest little detail that makes parrying feel so good in this and sekiro is being able to cancel attacks and combos with a guard. Something like lies of P makes you fully commit to an attack once you press the input for it, so it feels a little clunky. It just feels more fluid, and I'd imagine it's a little more realistic to be able to stop an attack to guard yourself.
For parries i heard some people say where one game uses earlier timing, this uses a bit later timing by comparison

I think the jiggle physics issue is overblown. It looks natural, it isn't ridiculous. The game is fantastic and I think it is the most accessible souls like game and will allow others to tackle harder souls like games after playing this

When it was project eve i wanted it, when i played the demo and saw it was coming out on my birthday i DEF wanted it and bought it 3 weeks ago. Thank you for your unbiased and not being one of those weird people who are scared or dont like female protagonist. This is a game is an amazing hack and slash action game!

Honestly when I played the demo and got to the first enemy it was an instant pre order, I can’t wait to play it and I totally agree with it feeling at home, it’s definitely a feeling for a game I’ve had since Elden ring, and it’s awesome, can’t wait to see more and thanks you for the review, I agree completely with you
This game looks fantastic. I typically can't do games like Sekiro, but after playing the demo of this game, it is super fun, and the combat is among the best I've ever seen in an action game.
Most fun I’ve had in a game this year so far. Top tier combat, animations, music, visuals, enemy design/boss fights. Only critiques = Many side quests felt a bit of a grind/chore, character development (except for Lilly) could be better. Overall, had an absolute blast & highly recommend.
