A tip for Arial Blow, it's a move that you can use burst chain on but doesn't need a combo before it. So this means that it's a really fast way to turn beta energy into burst, all you need to do is jump and hold triangle and it'll charge.
@@mickodillon1480 really depends on the enemy too. The grab attack from the small sword guy who thrust attack followed by a punch. His grab attack is very hard to blink
These kinds of games give me insane anxiety and I usually drop em early on. This game has allowed me to have that anxiety and not feel absolutely overwhelmed and out of my depth. I feel like this will be the first time I finish one of these
Awesome video! I hadn't thought about the combat and combos in detail before watching this. I'll have to come back after unlocking additional skill trees so I can watch the rest.
Already have it pre-ordered and ready to go. Really glad to have this guide because I was a little confused with the combos and skill trees in the demo.
I have a terrible habit from Elden. Ring and Sekiro. I hold L1 bumper or randomly press it to guard mid attacks. I need to stop this. Lol Mid chains it will interrupt and accidentally use a beta skill. I know I can't be the only one who does this with this bad habit.
I see blink's brought up 18 minutes in, but did they change the timing, compared to the demo? Before I feel like I was able to just tap forward plus dodge.
I’m finding the parries really hard to nail in this. It’s nowhere near as forgiving as Sekiro, which is a funny thing to say considering how hard that game is considered to be.
quadruplet was useful against most normal enemies because it comes out fast and it kills most of them with one combo. a dash combo to quad kills most enemies. i didn’t need to down most normal enemies and charging just opens you up to attacks from multiple enemies. also i think it has a little more aoe when compared to the ranged slash i would have to test tho. when it came to bosses i didn’t use it much tho.
I've heard a couple people mention it. One solution someone said is if you have the fancy dualshock you can bind both triangle and circle to a back button so it always has precise timing on the double press.
Can you please explain how to pull off the counter chain attack? The circle and triangle literally does nothing no matter how and when I press it after the first counter
@@FightinCowboy yes, I’m just trying to do it in the training after unlocking the skill. I say there for a half hour pressing the two buttons at every possible time after the lunch forward after the slide behind them. It just doesn’t come out now matter what I do.
@@tehCostHD Do you press it at same time? After you execute Counter (Parry -> Hold Square -> Press Triangle), press triangle and circle at same time. Or you can hold it until she does the chain attack (you don't need to wait until she finishes last attack from Counter I, just when she starts dashing after pressing triangle, release triangle and press triangle and circle at same time and hold it until she does attack). Same for Counter Chain II.
dont know if you experienced it or not but in the demo i felt like there was some input delay when consecutive parrying or trying to parry after/during a combo. is that just me?
Looks like I need to think about respeccing my Beta Skills, been totally sleeping on Cross Wave thinking Triplet was the better option for the Balance damage.
Triplet is actually pretty good not only if you need to take out the last balance but you can knock enemies out of the un-parryable (yellow) attacks since it comes out really fast. All beta skills can do this but triplet is the fastest one. Tempest I believe you're invincible during the charge up, but could be wrong
I personally like Beta Rush II in cases where one big enemy is surrounded by smaller ones. I can do a quick aoe before I need to worry about being hit out of other options.
I like it in some cases more than beta rush I, just because it's a quicker attack. In beta rush I, I take a lot of damage because it doesn't stun the enemies always and it takes too long to finish the animation.
The combat mechanics in this game are so incredibly refreshing, everything about this game is bafflingly perfect, the music, the outfits, the story, the voice actress, the complete disregard for modern tropes to the point of almost being insulting to wokies. Im in love. triple AAA neanderthals in ubisoft must be screaming doing cartwheels Im so happy
Stellar Blade is a double-A game. And it feels like all the negatives stated are par for the course for what we'd normally expect in double-A games; like some repeating biomes, or under baked side quests, etc. As long as the core aspects are solid, it'll be good. Those are the same qualities which also carried other diamonds-in-the-rough, like Demon's Souls or Dragon's Dogma, thru the years[
Really looking forward to picking this up. Lords of the fallen, lies of P, wo long (less so), this, to name only a few. We’re drowning in quality souls like games
@@FightinCowboy combat focus, parry timing, and rest spots are close enough for me xD but I do use the term too loosely lol Demo rocked tho so I’m sitting on the edge of my proverbial seat for this one
cant lie… this game is an absolute blast
I love how the perfect dodge looks. So surreal and futuristic.

Got 9 hours left till playtime ----> I'm well exited for this. That Blink and Repulse timing tip is great.
so how is it? lol
Agreed. Had not seen the shining blade

The skill where you charge the last attack of a combo is really helping me learn combos and just handle timing better, recommend
What a stellar guide. Alright, I'll let myself out. Seriously though thanks FightingCowboy. You rock!

How soft do you have to be to get anxiety from a damn video game

Thanks for the tip on Blink. I have been trying all morning.

Square x4 hold the 4th will stunlock many enemies.
Learned that double dodge skills were fantastic after playing Lies of P.
I had so many questions on which abilities and upgrades were the best after my first session and all of them have been answered with this video. 👍🏻
Thanks for the guide! Really helpful

Oh damn Tachy mode is nutty. This is what I was looking for. Getting enemies into near infinite stun locks and just going crazy with attacks.
Cowboy great guide i learned more from it from i knew and what i needed to know. Great guide thank you.
Thanks for all your work man
Loved your review 👌👌👌
Do you have any tips on timing on counter/reflection chain?
man I hope this game get's something like the bloody palace, the combat is sooo much fun
I see blink's brought up 18 minutes in, but did they change the timing, compared to the demo? Before I feel like I was able to just tap forward plus dodge.
This game looks dope af
I cannot wait this game. Can’t come out fast enough.
Uhm idk about you but with tachy mode I just mashed square and it stun locked bosses including final 3

I found Rush Chain II to be useful with dispatching groups of smaller, weaker enemies when Slash would be too slow.

Loving the game so far this and rise of the ronin ill be playing for awhile ive already put in 100hrs on that
Hi Fighting Cowboy, does the parry system feel like parrying Genichiro and the centipeed. or feel like parrying the true monk?
Geni
Learned a lot! Ty
Can't wait to play this tomorrow definitely be following your let's play videos followed your sekiro 100 per cent walkthrough
The sword glows without threat detection, once you unlock blink and repulse the sword glows.

Anyone else having trouble with counter chain abilities it’s super inconsistent even though I’m pressing it when I’m supposed to

Key to counter is to let go L1 immediately after parry.
