@@PunishedOwn Yea, like not using minimap in witcher. The option is there. But it is only an option for show because the gameplay is still made only for full UI.
I’ll wait til release. Seems like almost every game gets praised on the preview these days then actually sucks at launch. The fact they delayed the game and still can’t get it to run at 60 fps on series x is concerning. The graphics aren’t anything special to warrant 30fps
This game feels like pure hard fixed 30 FPS, it's actually hard to look at. Nothing in audio is linked with video as caster gameplay feels very shallow with 3 animation per wand + 2-3 abilities with cooldown. Melee combat was on level of skyrim without mods as mace doesn't stop on hit and just cleave though with 0 impact. Even skyrim mods done better job to rewrite shitty impact of skyrim combat by stopping weapon on target hit. But what am i saying this looks like LSD dream of skyrim fan, too colorful yet so shallow and wooden.
The Pillars games had some of the best background, writing and world building I've ever seen, so I'm hoping Avowed really gives players who didn't experience those games something new to love
I need more medieval fantasies with flintlock pistols and arquebus Its not like it would render magic and swords useless either considering its reload time. Warhammer Fantasy is the best example of this
Man, the stutter and pop-in on the characters while you’re interacting with them is genuinely hard to ignore. Most of it has been consistent since they showed gameplay so I don’t see it being fixed by release
Eh, it's a lot of money but actually less than I thought it would be. Top of the line office furniture can be more expensive than that, Herman Miller chairs start at about a grand. His comments on UI is so interesting. I think a lot of CRPG fans were super excited at Avowed's UI as it resembles the classic "wall of text and nerddom" design of classic CRPG UI. Not saying this is good or bad, but I wonder if Shillup's looter shooter destiny brain clashes with the CRPG sensibilities.
@Marlo_Branco you're probably right, but I do believe he put in a lot of time in BG3 and has said in the past that he loves heroes of might and magic (not quite the same, but tangentially related). So I was a bit surprised.
The health bars are really jarring and immersion breaking. Hoping they change that or there will be some options for it. Or that it's at least moddable
Hmm... Interesting choice to restrict reviewers from showing the character creation and more in-depth gameplay--it makes me even more skeptical. I'll wait for actual reviews after release to decide if it’s worth my money. In the meantime, I'll be playing MH Wilds and KK Deliverance 2.

I can't get over how the UI reminds me of the "Elden Ring Ubisoft UI" meme.
Thankfully it's been confirmed pretty much everything you see on screen, even stuff like screen shake, Damage numbers, healthbars and loot glow has an option to toggle off. So if you wanted to try and replicate Elden Ring or Bethesda's minimalistic UI, it seems achievable!
Yes, UI was my only gripe with what I've seen so far. Will toggle most off then. Hopefully the game is still playable without it.

The graphics look better than what they showed during E3, but yes, I do hope they polish the game a bit more before it's release.
This game feels like pure hard fixed 30 FPS, it's actually hard to look at. Nothing in audio is linked with video as caster gameplay feels very shallow with 3 animation per wand + 2-3 abilities with cooldown. 60 fps and 40 fps in towns on a 4090 is absolutely TERRIBLE. no one should ever buy this game if the performance doesn't *drastically* improve by launch, like double or 1.75x the frame rate. the game doesn't even look that mindblowing in terms of fidelity, it looks nice but this could have come out in 2018 and it wouldn't be out of place. I hope it's just cause it's not done yet but that's looking real bad.
The top comments are mostly positive and the recent ones are mostly negative

It's always like this. Nuance and criticism is controversial and doesn't tend to rise to the top. That's one of the main weaknesses of online culture and why people get radicalized.

Yooo big dude, I am stoked for this too and visuals have come so far! Still completely baffled by his review of Veilguard. I enjoyed the hell out of that game and didn’t see any of the things he complained about.
It's nearly 2025 and animations in most triple A games are still poorly done - especially facial animations. The dialogue UI looks overly minimalistic.
I thought they bought all those ugly plastic characters on some 3d models marketplace, together with cheapest rig\animation and just stole Microsoft`s money dedicated to characters and animations :D
They spent most the budget on adding identity politics with beginner quality writing
This is not a triple A game thought, it is a very Obsidian AA game.
