    Truly one of the best most descriptive videos for the front end of the gen 1 FJR. Thank you for so much work.

    Thank you.
    Calm video without extraneous noise, irritants.
    We are ending the season, and in 8 months of winter I will try your technique.
    good luck and health

      They sit tightly between the headlights, if you make a plate like what I did in the video and keep everything tight you should not have any problems. Make sure you use a headlight relay. Anyway, good luck, Mike

    You should do another video on detailed fairing removal. There is basically no resources out there for gen 1 bikes. I bought a second bike to use as a model to reassemble my FJR after a bad wreck. Thanks for the videos.

      HI, Absolutely agree with you. A more detailed fairing removal will be of great value to the community!! BTW, is one of your bikes a Gen 2? Wondering if there is any difference, or major difference, between Gen 1 and II insofar as fairing removal. Thanks!!\

      Thanks, I just try to break it down to one step at a time. My A.D.D brain can't talk for two long without buffering!
      I just edited the description section of the video to list links to all of the bulb's used and where to get the LED's as well as the gauge face plates.

      I order the lights put them in the instrument panel but only 4 of them worked. 3 for speedometer & tachometer which uses 4 lights but only 3 worked put regular bulb back in & it worked. The neutral light was the only other bulb I could get to work. Is there a special tool for putting them in? I'm taking it apart again & trying them one more time. Do you have any suggestions?

      The LED's have a polarity, if they don't work reverse them in the socket. Also, make sure they are making connection. They all should work.

    Thanks mike.
    I'm thinking replacement led,s on my 2003 fjr as one of my winter projects.
    Will I be able to just change out the bulbs from the original? I don't care to take the head light cover off
    Also, when you ride under normal conditions, ie summer, do you get 2 or 3 bars on your temperature indicator?
    Best regards

    Hello Mike, Was watching how you removed the front center fairing in the video on HID bulb replacement to the stock halogen bulb. I am trying to get to the windshield motor assembly ( have issues/strong vibrations when windshield is in lowest position). I do have a 2012 FJR (Gen 2 ?). Do you by any chance know if process to remove that front fairing assembly is same as how you showed in your own video on the headlight bulbs? Many thanks? YL

    Hi Mike I'm trying to change the clock plate from mph to kph but I can't find your video how you did it. Please help. Your description is always great

      Hello, I never did a video for the speedo. What you do is, take the front fairing off, use the video to install hid headlights for a guide. Remove the bolts holding the speedo. Once you have the assembly out, remove the screws on the back holding the plastic screen cover. Take a picture of the indicator position. Now carefully remove the cover and set flat on the back. Using 2 spoons, put the edge of the spoons under the indicator on both sides of the indicator shaft with the bottom of the spoons touching the face plate gently push down on the spoon handles and slowly, the indicator will come off the shaft. Make sure you don't turn the indicator. Now remove the 2 screws and replace the face plate. Replace the screws.

    • @mikesfjrcorner7129
      @mikesfjrcorner7129  Рік тому +1

      Don't over tighten the two screws, the plate is plastic and over time they will bubble. Press the indicator back on to the shaft in the original position. If you did not turn the shaft in any way, the indicator should be accurate. Reassemble the speedo, put back on bike. Before replacing the fairing, take it for a ride, verify speed with a GPS or speedo app on your phone. If it is correct, great, if it's off, disassemble it again and remove the indicator, adjust it's position, put it back together and go for another test ride.
      This is also a good time to replace the bulbs.
      Hope this helps, mike

    Howdy
    Id like to do the conversation on mine too!
    Can you please show me the front blinker holder? Id like to upgrade mine to us specs with running indicators.
    Also have the hid kit given you any idsues and how many years has it been?

    • @mikesfjrcorner7129

      Hello, the blinker relay is in the bank of relays on the right side of the back of the speedo, under the front fairing. Hids has been working over 3 years, the right headlight just went out. I'll look at it this winter when I get a chance.

    • @horeamarinescu1016
      @horeamarinescu1016 Рік тому

      @mikesfjrcorner7129 thanks Mike! I dont need the relay, I'd like to see the actual bulb holder as yours, being us spec has an extra wire for the running lights, which mine does not have.
