Midwinter Surf Fishing for Redtail Surfperch Washington

Went out fishing at Long Beach Washington in the middle of the Winter with friends on outgoing to low tide, and it was quite surprisingly good.

Rod: Custom built Surf rod, model Pac Bay PBX II Graphite Surf Blanks PBX2GSU110M 11'
Reel: Shimano TranX Baitcast Reel - TRX301AHG
Hooks: Gamakatsu Baitholder Hooks size #2
Baits: Razor clams, & shrimps.

Yeah, you will not regret it, and you will return for more-:) Not sure if you ever taste redtail perch but they are one of my favorite fish to eat.

What is the size of your bait holder hook and where did you buy it ?

Hi there, You can use size 1,2, or 4. I like size #2 Gamakatsu Baitholder hooks the most. Good luck fishing!!

I bought hooks at Sportsmans.
